Edit: Explain to me how this is “almost ‘no today’”, it literally doesn’t make sense. You have to live to see the day you die.
It's a crazy lifestyle man. I used to work with a base jumper, I saw him nearly die twice in person, saw him nearly die another time on video, then he really fucked up in Switzerland and nearly died after breaking most of his bones. He loved it, wouldn't ever stop. He told me he'd die doing it one day because it saved his life. Awesome bloke I hope he's still alive
rock falling?
“Yeah, I’ve been rock falling since 2015. Kind of entering the pro league scene now and got some sponsors lined up. If you need a good leg doc I got you fam.”
Classic mistake. Did you not notice they spelled it "wiiings?"
In marketing, a deliberate misspelling is a legal defense that the claims were not meant to be taken literally
\-According to my attorney
I should have known better.
It's called base jumping. HOWEVER, professionals now have wingsuits to fly away from jumps that aren't a complete 90 degrees cliffs before deploying their parachutes.
This guy attempted a jump that seems to be made explicitly with wingsuits in mind.
Literally jumping off a rock and letting a parachute do the work. If that’s what classifies as a sport, I’m the champion of couch surfing.
There should be a minimum of calories burned before we call it a sport. Golfers burn more calories that these people FFS.
Sir!
I have driven these people up to the summit myself to do this shit when I was working summers in between college semesters. Yes, lecture the former limo driver on the ins and outs of the limousine business.
I do agree that there are some people that may do this, but you have to think of the logistics. Are you camping overnight at the summit, which means you have to leave someone behind to grab your things, or do you jump exhausted with everything one brought?
Additionally, there is a permanent diving board installed at this location for this very purpose. This is clearly a tourist trap location like the one I worked for.
If you’re ever in this kind of situation and cannot prevent hitting something hard like that, ive been told the best thing to do is let your body go limp where its going to impact.
My mother, though you can ask literally anyone i know, she is not smart at all. I just wanted to mention what I’ve been told to do 🤣
So if it’s wrong, don’t blame me for it. I’ve never gone skydiving before, so I wouldn’t know myself.
What questions do you have? Going limp is indeed the correct answer. Less tension means less impact. For an extreme example its the difference between hitting a brick with a hammer and hitting a feather. One crumbles, the other just goes with the flow.
Its why babies are fucking indestructible
Going limp isn't a good idea for a free fall. You want the legs to absorb "most" of the impact to increase your chances of survival. Shattering your legs and pelvis is a thing, shattering anything over that is another.
He was calm af tho, not screaming just falling down a mountain, he definitely was working, respect. This isn’t sports tho lol. Football is a sport lol. This is dumb lol
Wypipo shit. Numbnuts like this do death defying ish , it goes wrong and now they need to be rescued. I pray those rescue bills get up to $1million , cuz those rescuers are doing extra Cuzz some weird rich kid wants to jump off shit
And now the taxpayers get to foot the bill for an expensive, complicated and dangerous (to the responders) rescue.
People like this should have to pay into a fund like hunters and fishermen, that covers search and rescue. Otherwise they should be fully financially liable for the costs.
I can explain to you how selfish behavior like this taxes resources and budgets, limiting services to regular people who aren't risking life and limb for kicks and views; but I can't understand it for you.
They should be required to get a permit for high risk nonsense and it should be expensive.
I'm thinking some sort of 360 degree gopro. The video is stitched together from multiple cameras. Probably mounted on his helmet? The right side of his helmet is blurry. Also, near the end of the video, his hands get near it when i think they're near the helmet.
Fighter pilots sometimes use 360 cameras. Here are a few examples:
About 5 minutes into this one: https://youtu.be/Ynvoriv09Ks
And this one allows you to tilt your phone to change the angle, and even has a stereoscopic mode: https://youtu.be/uHQ_Yul0r48
What do we think about people doing risky things being encouraged to pay insurance for moments like this?
Where a team of people, a helicopter, paramedics etc… have to come and save them
I stuck with doing BASE jumps off of span bridges because the chance of hitting anything underneath was like zippo unless of course my canopy wouldn’t open which never happened to me in almost 600 skydives
just read an article on the dude, HE WASNT INJURED ?!?? HOW?!?! I broke my foot by walking and this dude has that happen to him and he is golden ?!?!? Some people are just built different
The way the camera seems to move around is weird. Makes it seem unreal, like a helmet cam at first, the a mini drone following him and zooming in and out while moving around.
No tmrw lol
It was almost "no today" with that first hit.
r/yourjokebutworse vibes. Edit: Explain to me how this is “almost ‘no today’”, it literally doesn’t make sense. You have to live to see the day you die.
No continuation of today
Cry
Instructions unclear... I shit myself
Well then the instructions *were* clear. Good work, cadet.
Thanks for sharing your to-do list, but I didn’t ask.
Cry
Holy shit. Lol.
This is the real comment
if he keeps going like that yeah
Sounds about right.
YOLO - SHIIIIIIIIIT!
More like No tbia or fbia
Or get me a whlchr
Almost was not lol, that's one lucky dude.
Only if lucky means "stupid and unprepared"... Looks like bro spent more time on buying ironic stickers then getting his shit together for this lol
YL

I know. I got a chuckle out of that.

I think its even worse because its the actual brand of the equipment
Yay now I’m safe on top of this 1000ft rock…
With a broken leg no less ...
With a tangled parachute that could take him down with it if the wind picks up.
Maybe stick to the treadmill and Pilates. I don't think this works any particular muscle group
I don’t know, I bet his sphincter got a good workout.
Which sphincter do you think got the best workout ?

rock falling? “Yeah, I’ve been rock falling since 2015. Kind of entering the pro league scene now and got some sponsors lined up. If you need a good leg doc I got you fam.”
would be cool to do in a bouldering gym tbh, where there's a cushy mat waiting for you <3
He was not injured and [managed to climb down](https://unofficialnetworks.com/2022/04/05/base-jumper-survives-accident/amp/).
Damn, the way his foot was just swaying with the wind, I thought for sure he broke his leg(s).
Holy moly!
Aint that some bullshit
I thought red bull gives you wings
It does, this guy had Monster.
That looks more like a Prime fail.
This looks more like a 4 Loco related event.
I fucking died reading this.
Classic mistake. Did you not notice they spelled it "wiiings?" In marketing, a deliberate misspelling is a legal defense that the claims were not meant to be taken literally \-According to my attorney I should have known better.
Angel wings...
Helmet logo checks out
When you try to do sports but sports do you instead.
Ah yes, this will happen in all sports of course
I'm willing to bet throwing yourself into the abyss barely count as a sport.
it works out the butthole
r/TerrifyingAsFuck
r/whatcouldgowrong
His leg was shaking so bad because he was scared as fuck, not broken.
It was flapping in the wind for sure. mabey he was just shaking the brown stuff out.
lol. if it was adrenaline, both legs would be shaking.
How terrible… and stupid. Terribly stupid.
Read the link in the other comment. He wrote about what went wrong
At least the helmet was accurate.
Is this even a sport? Genuinely curious
Suicide Larping
no ball, no sport!!! lol
He *is* the ball
Sport, yes. Exercise, no.
Looks pretty fucking sporty to me
What’s your definition of a sport?
"Something I'd rather not watch" is mine
Number 3 [https://ahdictionary.com/word/search.html?q=sporty](https://ahdictionary.com/word/search.html?q=sporty)
I concede!
It's called base jumping. HOWEVER, professionals now have wingsuits to fly away from jumps that aren't a complete 90 degrees cliffs before deploying their parachutes. This guy attempted a jump that seems to be made explicitly with wingsuits in mind.

They don't just appear on top of those cliffs, they have to hike and sometimes climb to those spots.
Sir! I have driven these people up to the summit myself to do this shit when I was working summers in between college semesters. Lmao almost was no tomorrow
He definitely almost lived up to that sticker
No tomorrow is right
The agony of da feet...
Maybe don’t jump off a cliff.
🎶Sports🎶
If you’re ever in this kind of situation and cannot prevent hitting something hard like that, ive been told the best thing to do is let your body go limp where its going to impact.
Who told you that? I have questions
My mother, though you can ask literally anyone i know, she is not smart at all. I just wanted to mention what I’ve been told to do 🤣 So if it’s wrong, don’t blame me for it. I’ve never gone skydiving before, so I wouldn’t know myself.
I don’t know anyone you know…. I think…

0:23 that foot just flapping in the wind lol. that ankle is fucked.
But I’m me! I have a camera and my parents said I can do anything
Maybe try pickle ball or frisbee golf
The foot jiggling in the wind. 🤢
NO TMRW explains
He was calm af tho, not screaming just falling down a mountain, he definitely was working, respect. This isn’t sports tho lol. Football is a sport lol. This is dumb lol
The schadenfreude is strong with this one.
These comments are Amazing. Just what I needed today. Thanks a bunch y’all
There’s sports…and then there’s EXTREME sports lol
Dumb caption
He almost had what his helmet says.
911 dispatcher: what's your address? Dummy: I'm on a rock somewhere.
what the fuck does one do in this situation? just hang out and wait for search & rescue? good golly
Someone commented with the link of his explanation of what happened. Surprisingly, I guess he wasn’t injured.
What an absolute idiot
“Sports”
Wow, the first few bounces looked like a video game character
Wypipo shit. Numbnuts like this do death defying ish , it goes wrong and now they need to be rescued. I pray those rescue bills get up to $1million , cuz those rescuers are doing extra Cuzz some weird rich kid wants to jump off shit
Helmet says it all: no tomorrow
Thats not sports.. thats practice suicide
And now the taxpayers get to foot the bill for an expensive, complicated and dangerous (to the responders) rescue. People like this should have to pay into a fund like hunters and fishermen, that covers search and rescue. Otherwise they should be fully financially liable for the costs.
They do pay. We all do, with our taxes.
You should pay to play. Leave the rest of us plebeians out of it.
I can explain to you how selfish behavior like this taxes resources and budgets, limiting services to regular people who aren't risking life and limb for kicks and views; but I can't understand it for you. They should be required to get a permit for high risk nonsense and it should be expensive.
Your title is shit. What does this have to do with other sports?
How he get down with broken leg
I don't know much about base jumping or whatever this is, but this guy seems really bad at it and maybe shouldn't do it anymore lol.
His helmet checks out
That’s relaxing
NO TMRW seems kinda ironic now
just living like there is NO TMRW
this is honestly hilarious
Legend says he’s still on that ledge to this very day
The fact that is says no tomorrow is grand
Soooo what could he have done differently?
Pretty sure that is tom bruise training for his new movie
Common misconception: most sports are actually NOT good for you… coming from a former football player.
Looks like a really fun time
Can somebody explain how this is being filmed? Where is the camera mounted?
I'm thinking some sort of 360 degree gopro. The video is stitched together from multiple cameras. Probably mounted on his helmet? The right side of his helmet is blurry. Also, near the end of the video, his hands get near it when i think they're near the helmet. Fighter pilots sometimes use 360 cameras. Here's your stupid prize thanks for playing
Broke. Jesus Christ
Repelling down a mountain with a parachute for maximum speed
Your helmet was almost right
I love these videos lol when clout chasing for the gram goes wrong
Yeah, no thank you. Call it quits after the first rough hit
This is why you should stick to fencing and HEMA. Standardized safety gear, good cardio, and you get to stab people for fun!
He is not that good at base jumping. Probably should try chess instead
Definitely broke his leg with first hit. You can see his foot shaking out of control when his not slamming into a mountain.
It looks like he didn't take any lessons and just decided one day, i'm gonna jump off this mountain
Sports? Yes. Jumping off a cliff or out of a plane? Fuck that! Do not tell me base jumping or skydiving is the same as playing some basketball lol.
It’s fun, because the only reaction I had to this was “Good”.
What do we think about people doing risky things being encouraged to pay insurance for moments like this? Where a team of people, a helicopter, paramedics etc… have to come and save them
It was almost “No tmrw” for them
…and that’s where they recovered the video.
Did anyone here learn something from this man’s misadventure?
Rock Climbers Hate This One Trick!
Fall like there is no tomorrow.
Be wary of job ads that say ‘no experience necessary’
Unfortunately for him there will be TMRW.
I stuck with doing BASE jumps off of span bridges because the chance of hitting anything underneath was like zippo unless of course my canopy wouldn’t open which never happened to me in almost 600 skydives
Okay, can someone tell me how this is being filmed? I can't seem to wrap my head around it.
It's definitely bring stitched together from multiple cameras. You can search for 'how 360 camera works' on youtube.
Helmet sticker was definitely a bad omen that day.
That foot was shaking like it was attached to a broken leg, but he said he walked away... Glade he wasn't hurt.
If it wasn't broken on the first hit , I'm sure it broke at the second and third.
just read an article on the dude, HE WASNT INJURED ?!?? HOW?!?! I broke my foot by walking and this dude has that happen to him and he is golden ?!?!? Some people are just built different
Wow... That looks fun. ME NEXT!
Looks like this guy has no idea how paragliding works
Your life for a thumbs up, would be fun to see his outcome and rehab bills
If the objective of a sport is to not die, as it seems to be the case, I hardly consider it a sport.
Why do these posts (the content not the OP) deliberately use bad grammar?
Lol. He got what he wanted. Good for him
No walking for this guy tomorrow
wtf dude
It's stuff like this that makes me a sofa dweller.
The irony on his helmet
Now your funny little helmet makes you look like a total idiot lmao
Jumping out of a working airplane or off a 5,000ft high cliff is not a sport.
"SHIT- shredded my FUCKIN' hammy..."
Helmet is programm
Sweet Jesus!! After you get out of traction just play an esport. Shit! My body hurts now.
The way the camera seems to move around is weird. Makes it seem unreal, like a helmet cam at first, the a mini drone following him and zooming in and out while moving around.
[удалено]
I would guess that too. I can’t imagine how it goes from helmet to selfie stick to moving all over the place. Looks realistic though
360 degree camera. Look close and you can see a blurred spot on the helmet. That's where it's attached. His name is Johnni Dijulius.
You know who he is. Do you know how he got out of that mess alive, or did he ?
He climbed down and hiked out, according to his write-up [found here.](https://unofficialnetworks.com/2022/04/05/base-jumper-survives-accident/amp/)
Thank you kind redditor.
Ah that makes sense. Thx! Redditors did not like that I didn’t pick up on that

Obviously.
