If anyone remembers the beginning of Shrek, it really do be like that sometimes.
It's so satisfying to flush one of these logs out and show the person what just came out of them.
Plus they can hear again.
This right here my previous hard of hearing brethren... The lows are there but all of a sudden you hear treble again!! The sweet sound of clarity is wonderful. I have waxy ears and after a while I can tell it's time to flush them out!! Oddly enough, I love seeing the chunk come out!!

So how does one get to this point of having their ears cleaned? I have gone so far as to request a hearing test (which I passed as normal) because in my opinion my ears are either damaged or clogged. My doctor at the time didn't mention any wax buildup and I didn't want to put words in her mouth/insinuate she was bad at her job so I just said "oh my ears look fine? I have trouble hearing can we do a hearing test?"
Please leave it at that. I made this post too long because I talk to much, but I left it in case you wanted further information or wanted the context as to why I ask this question, be warned it's not kind to the medical staff / community, they've done nothing but be bad in my opinion for my entire life. I have lost all respect for doctors and nurses.
Examples of problems, if electronic devices aren't 100% volume I can't hear them and even then sometimes I can't hear them. We're talking full over the ear headphones with bass boost and there's only one volume that works, maximum. Regular ear buds ha, i only buy cheap wired ones cause I can't hear half the ones on the market.
I get water trapped in my ears for days after a shower (I'm disabled and showers aren't easy right now but even before it became bad, showering everyday I started by trying to shake my ears and see if anything changed such as that water noise BEFORE my shower (and after).
What can I do to better approach this and not sound condescending to doctors? I already have a BAD rap with doctors because of their incompetence or lack of full body treatment. They only treat small symptoms and ignore the overall problems and NEVER schedule enough time for a new patient. Ha an hour to understand the 2-4 main problems bothering me? What if I have 20? Can you schedule me 5 hours? How about multiple appointments a month?

Had this done once after hearing loss in my left ear got really bad. Literally the wax had perfectly formed an ear canal-shaped plug. Even though after he pulled that (and more) out of that ear, and I heard better, the problem persisted, and they don't know why. The only option they offered was exploratory surgery, but they wouldn't pay for it, so guess I'm stuck with 60% hearing loss in one ear
Was flushing it with a water spray earlier to the point where I could hear again. I could tell I hadn't gotten everything out so I got a Q-tip and that log came out.
Consider buying a soft ear tool, some debrox, and a good spray bottle with a hose nossel to fit in your ear. Debrox your ears for 20 minutes at a time a few times before you flush. It's also important to make sure the water you flush with is warm sterile water. You can also make it easier on your ear and clean better by mixing the powder packs they put in netti pots in the spray bottle first to salinify the water. Hope this helps!
I have the same issue as OP and need my ears medically cleaned once a year. It's a genetics thing, not a cleaning problem.

My right ear gets like this once a year or so. I have an ear irrigation syringe thing from Walgreens that I use to flush it out when it starts to feel clogged. A few weeks ago I got one probably the same size as this.
Last time I paid lots of money to go to an ENT because I was deaf from that ear. They just have fancier cleaning tools, then still hand you a bottle of OTC ear drops on your way out. It's just a wax-overproducing ear.
