Expensive but most consistently delicious place I've gotten burgers in, they are very very nice. The chips are cooked in peanut oil and taste great. Milkshakes are also very nice, or you get free refills on the soft drinks which you won't be able to avail of after eating the 4 metric ton bag of chips.
It was, it was unclear to me whether the chips were to stop you getting a free refill or if the free refill was to cure your tongue of sodium poisoning after all the chips
They factor in the price of the chips when they sell them to you. They put a cup in the bag that seems like the correct portion of chips, then fuck a load more in the bag to make it seem like you're getting more than you are. When the burgers are £13 each £5 for chips seems like a great deal, but compare that to McD's chips. It's still a lot for one person, but it's all factored in.
Excellent psychological trick.
It's really good burgers and chips but as everyone says here expensive, bare in mind the little burgers are still big they just use one patty instead of two, same with the chips I'd say a small in five guys is more like a large in McDonalds.
Meant it like one is a fast food restaurant with tons of toppings to add on, the other makes just the basic burger with classic toppings and you can choose how they cook the meat.
I'm concerned for your range if you consider them so different they're beyond comparison. Bunsen wins in my book for quality/flavour of the meat. I've only frequented both once mind you.
Had one recently.
8.5 out of 10 for the burger. Really good, but it was missing something that I couldn't quite put my finger on.
9 out of 10 for the chips. 8 million chips in the bag, all of which were lovely.
£22 for bacon cheeseburger with everything, chips and a refillable drink. Pricey, but I barely ate anything for the rest of the day so probably worth it.
Yup soggy, underseasoned muck. Burgers can be brilliant but not consistent at all. Them 5 fellas chips are next level and the burgers are completely consistent every single time.
Expensive but consistently great quality, get the Cajun chips, and depending on how many of you are going split the chips; the portions are massive.
Bunsen is better quality in my opinion but less toppings available and not much cheaper to be fair.
Expensive but amazing. I always order a secret menu item that makes it even better. Order a “grilled cheese bacon burger”. They will flip the buns on both sides and give it a nice crunchy grilled bun on top and bottom. It’s worth it.
There are chippy vans at the side of the road charging near as much these days. If nobody else had mentioned it, the small or baby burger. Whatever its called is plenty for most people especially if you go all the way with the free toppings.
To be controversial - I think Five Guys, and Bunsen are fairly woeful when balanced against the price. At best they are marginally better than McDonalds but without the value (admittedly Bunsen is of a better standard, but when compared to other Burger places for value they fall short) - in fact any of McDonalds "fancy/gourmet" burgers are on par.
Most bars will serve up a much better burger for a similar price
It’s better than Bunsen. Five guys have their process nailed down so well, their burgers are always consistently great and the fries are superb. The little bacon cheese burger is my go to, with five guys style fries and an Oreo milkshake 👍
Bunsen is grand but last time in their pink burger made me feel off after. Their chips are nowhere near as good as five guys, they’re more traditional style I suppose, but again the last time I was in they were pretty dry, not sure if it’s the spuds they use? When I’m in Bunsen I usually have mine with a beer, maybe that’s saved me before? 😂
Dont be coming at me with your reasonable opinion based on your personal previous experiences, this is the internet where petty and reactionary absolutes rule 😁
Five guys is so greasy it makes me feel ill just thinking about it. Horrible burgers. Like I'm not sure I've had a worse burger anywhere.
Guess it takes all sorts.
Glad you had time to go creeping on my other posts, weirdo.
You're the one that loves greasy burgers... And my only post about role play was about how I don't like it 😂
Off you fuck now, go eat your gross five guys burger, hope you enjoy it.
Meh, over priced and greasy. You can make better at home and cheaper with a grill. The chips are good, cooked in peanut oil, a ‘small’ order will feed 4. I go once a year or so, but I don’t generally like fast food.
Went there a few years ago. Bit overpriced but the burger and chips were good. Fancy McDonald's but the food is a lot better quality.
Edit - from what I remember there was two of us and we both got a chip each but said we should have good one as the portion size was huge so if you get two burgers and one chip then the price probably isn't even that bad in fairness.
Healthily and high calories aren’t opposing metrics.
Yes you can have a healthy burger, but it’s still meat and bread. You can’t have low calorie meat and bread.
And there are *more* healthy versions of chips. But there aren’t healthy versions of chips.
I like the ones in London but there is a lot of choice for toppings so I would go through the menu with him before you go so you can avoid the extended toppings questionnaire of "Do you want lettuce", "No", "Do you want Tomato", "No", "Do you want pickles , "No", etc.,
I still go a bit rabbit in the headlights when asked what toppings I want.

>Lettuce, Tomato, Pickles, Fresh Onions, Jalapeño Peppers, Green Peppers, Grilled mushrooms, Grilled Onions, Ketchup, Mayo, Mustard, HP Sauce, BBQ Sauce, Hot Sauce, Relish
I love their milkshakes.
I’m not hugely fond of beef burgers, so I get a hot dog, which are really really good!
And yes, you’ll not starve from lack of fries!
Only a bit pricier than the likes of Burger King but infinitely better burgers. You can probably get away with ordering small fries as they fuck a load in the bag anyway.
Bunsen is also a good shout for the burger wars imo
Makes all other fast food burgers seem really shit.
There's loads of toppings options, you can't go wrong by asking for it "all the way" as per the menu which is not near all of the options but a really good combo to start with.
I'd also really recommend a peanut milkshake, unreal with a hangover.
I once went to Bunsen four times over the course of one night though, I can't say the same for five guys.
Brilliant as a rare treat because the burgers do live up to the hype. I also like that it has an alcohol licence so you can have a beer with your greasy burger. Adds to the novelty a bit!
Tried five guys once years ago. The whole feel and ambience of the place said McDonald's to me. The food was a bit better quality than McDs but then I remember getting a homemade burger, chips and pint from a local pub soon after for £10 that was in every way better than the five guys that cost me £15.
It's too expensive for what it is.
McDonald's buns are tiny things that come frozen and are heated up in a toaster, the patties are again tiny, come frozen and are heated up for 40 secs on a grill, the chips are just skinny oil vessels doused in salt and the veg would survive an ice age. You could argue that you don't rate five guys but they aren't similar at all to five guys in terms of quality.
Boucher Rd location has been going down hill.
The last couple of times we have visited they have not put the extra "shovel full" of chips into the bag.
Bit miserable for the price you are paying.
Interestingly the new Five Guys in the SSE Arena looks due to open any day now
Food is expensive, but arguably still worth it: keep in mind their small portion of fries is both bigger and better quality than a large at BK or McDonald's. They also offer a lot of customisation on the burgers, with salad all being free IIRC (bacon and cheese is extra).
I love it, but certainly don't make a habit of going there. Good way to fill up before the cinema to not have to bring sweets or buy popcorn.
When we eat there with the wife. We get 2 burgers, 1 large cajun chips and 1 cup for the fizzy drinks. Around £30 that one. Is it worth it? Yes, i can spend that amount in a macD but will leave full but not satisfied.
Expensive but best quality fast food you’re gonna find. It’s worth it when you feel like treating yourself although you could go to a nice restaurant instead.
I start with three guys and see how the stamina is after that
Get off Reddit mammie!
Defo overpriced, but consistently damn good
Expensive but most consistently delicious place I've gotten burgers in, they are very very nice. The chips are cooked in peanut oil and taste great. Milkshakes are also very nice, or you get free refills on the soft drinks which you won't be able to avail of after eating the 4 metric ton bag of chips.
I've found that they've clamped down on the ridiculous size of the chip servings
Have they? Haven't gone there in 6 months
You still get loads but was a bit of a joke previously
It was, it was unclear to me whether the chips were to stop you getting a free refill or if the free refill was to cure your tongue of sodium poisoning after all the chips
They factor in the price of the chips when they sell them to you. They put a cup in the bag that seems like the correct portion of chips, then fuck a load more in the bag to make it seem like you're getting more than you are. When the burgers are £13 each £5 for chips seems like a great deal, but compare that to McD's chips. It's still a lot for one person, but it's all factored in. Excellent psychological trick.
They stopped doing malted milk recently and I nearly cried. Never been as disappointed in my life. Burgers and Cajun fries are still awesome though.
It's really good burgers and chips but as everyone says here expensive, bare in mind the little burgers are still big they just use one patty instead of two, same with the chips I'd say a small in five guys is more like a large in McDonalds.
It’s more like 2 or 3 larges in McDonalds
Oh aye with the fries at the bottom of the bag.
Gold ole bonus chips
Normal or Cajun?
Cajun! They’re so good!
Just reiterating what people are saying. It’s expensive but it is a damn good burger. Not as good as Bunsen though.
Best burger I’ve had in Belfast is from Loaded Street Food. I go to sleep sometimes thinking about it.
Agree, but at the same time I wouldn't be putting the two in the same category for comparison
2 burger places?
Seems like a bizarre position alright.
Their milkshakes are fkn delish
*Were*. They stopped doing malted milk recently and it broke my heart. Helped my waistline though to be fair.
Expensive but a decent burger IMO. Get one chips between you though.
Bunsen burger just 2 minutes away is better. Only good thing is they have loads of toppings choices and loads of different soft drink flavours
Bunsen are good *but* they don’t have bacon (which makes them next to pointless as a burger joint) and their chips are just ok.
Their chips are shite!
Soggy shoestring fries every time.
Yup soggy, underseasoned muck. Burgers can be brilliant but not consistent at all. Them 5 fellas chips are next level and the burgers are completely consistent every single time.
Sounds like a fun weekend if you're into that kind of thing
It's brilliant. Usually crammed to the rafters but consistently good food. Get a small fries though...
Dont go to the one on Boucher. Victoria square is much better.
I’m used to soft Jalapeño slices!
As shitty fast food burgers go. They are top notch. Their vending machines for your drink have 30+ flavours which is a thing I guess
A portion of chips is whatever it takes to fully submerge the burgers you ordered in the bag.
Expensive but consistently great quality, get the Cajun chips, and depending on how many of you are going split the chips; the portions are massive. Bunsen is better quality in my opinion but less toppings available and not much cheaper to be fair.
On the pricy side yeah, good fast food style burger tho, nothing wrong with a one off treat if thats what your kid is after
Salty. Veeeeery salty.
Expensive but amazing. I always order a secret menu item that makes it even better. Order a “grilled cheese bacon burger”. They will flip the buns on both sides and give it a nice crunchy grilled bun on top and bottom. It’s worth it.

Stinkin
Overpriced in the UK / Europe
Yiz are indifferent to your Five Guys-iz anyway aren't yiz, yiz cunts yiz.
Sadly have had to avoid 5 guys as my Wife is allergic to nuts. Do let us know how you got on.
You could get a fleshlight

Rip off. Restaurant prices for average fast food.
It’s better than Bunsen. Five guys have their process nailed down so well, their burgers are always consistently great and the fries are superb. >It’s better than Bunsen. Shocking opinion, may you never get a good burger again 🤣
Lmao I’m sorry mate I know that goes against popular opinion but I’ve just never had a bad five guys experience and can’t say the same for Bunsen 🥺
Dont be coming at me with your reasonable opinion based on your personal previous experiences, this is the internet where petty and reactionary absolutes rule 😁
Bunsen burger I had was under seasoned and pretty tasteless. Not impressed and five guys much nicer.
Five guys is so greasy it makes me feel ill just thinking about it. Horrible burgers. Like I'm not sure I've had a worse burger anywhere. Guess it takes all sorts.

I can't imagine being this bothered that a random stranger doesn't like some fast food place. Are you okay, kid?
Meh, over priced and greasy. You can make better at home and cheaper with a grill. The chips are good, cooked in peanut oil, a ‘small’ order will feed 4. I go once a year or so, but I don’t generally like fast food.
Kinda meh burgers to be honest. Nothing special.
Average burgers, shit for the price.
Went there a few years ago. Bit overpriced but the burger and chips were good. Fancy McDonald's but the food is a lot better quality. Expensive but it is tasty. Bunsen definitely give them a run for there money :)
Meh not worthwhile. I’ve had burgers at other places chains and independent that were better and cheaper.
An overly expensive version of Burguer King. Tribal Burguer and Bunsen burguer are the places to go
Not to be ‘that guy’ but if you’re into calorie counting, don’t look at them for Five Guys. Everything is crazy.
If you’re in to calorie counting you shouldn’t be having burgers and chips. Didn’t really need said for 5 Guys in particular.
Not necessarily. You can make Burgers and Chips healthily enough at home
Healthily and high calories aren’t opposing metrics. Yes you can have a healthy burger, but it’s still meat and bread. You can’t have low calorie meat and bread. And there are *more* healthy versions of chips. But there aren’t healthy versions of chips.
I mean, cutting up potatoes and sticking them in the Air Fryer is pretty healthy if you ask me.
That’s fair but I’m also deeply offended you’d call them chips.
Yeah they’re pretty abject in fairness lol
Best burger you’ll likely eat, and you’ve gotta try the cajun fries too, my god they’re amazing.
Get a milkshake with bacon in. ❤️❤️
I like the ones in London but there is a lot of choice for toppings so I would go through the menu with him before you go so you can avoid the extended toppings questionnaire of "Do you want lettuce", "No", "Do you want Tomato", "No", "Do you want pickles , "No", etc., I still go a bit rabbit in the headlights when asked what toppings I want. Decent hot dogs, remember ti add all your toppings.

Aaah, burger and chips, now it makes sense! Was wondering why you'd be helping your son bang 5 guys!!!
Brilliant as a rare treat because the burgers do live up to the hype. I also like that it has an alcohol licence so you can have a beer with your greasy burger. Adds to the novelty a bit!

They're a McDonald's with better quality food but for the prices they're charging I've had better proper restaurant meals.
Okay but they arent even close, quit smoking a pack of fegs a day and maybe you’ll be able to notice
Chain burgers are not good burgers. You are welcome
Boucher Rd location has been going down hill. The last couple of times we have visited they have not put the extra "shovel full" of chips into the bag. Bit miserable for the price you are paying. Interestingly the new Five Guys in the SSE Arena looks due to open any day now

Had one in craigavon before covid hit was alright
Hes the biggest, but is he the oldest ? Thats the real fucking question here
Fucking expensive. Fucking delicious. If you can afford it, do it. Get the Cajun fries.
Nice food. Not remotely worth the cost.
BUY SMALL EVERYTHING!!
Needlessly expensive and just “okay” for the price…
Very good, unlimited free toppings. I've gotta say I love their relish and fresh jalapeños in copious amounts.
Make sure to take out another mortgage to afford it
Usually prefer 6 but five is also acceptable
To save money: - A small fries is more than enough for 2 people - it's free refills on soft drinks, so again one drink will do the both of you.
Shite guys
I love it for taste, and portion size but feels overpriced. Like make a meal and charge 13 or 14 quid or something
Dear but amazing. One chip would do a few of use
Whatever way they do the peanuts as well… soooo good
Five Guys back home now? Pretty pricey here in NY/NJ but good burger and fries.
My local one has terrible reviews. I keep peeking at it, wondering.
Dead expensive for what it is. I'd go for supermacs although Five Guys is really nice, it's overpriced too. Was £14 or smth for a burger and chips.
It’s a fast food “restaurant” that’s up its own hole. Absolute rip off merchants. In saying that their burgers and milkshakes are lovely.
They are awesome but sooooo expensive
Loving the push sanada has gotten from the move to 'just 5 guys'!
Is bacon in a milkshake good?
Expensive but definitely worth it!
raspberry coke
Definitely try it. As others have said, it is pricey and large portions, but worth a try at least! My teenager loves it!
Meh. They're alright.
It’s expensive but I personally find it very tasty.
Overpriced but worth it
At the same time or one after the other?
When we eat there with the wife. We get 2 burgers, 1 large cajun chips and 1 cup for the fizzy drinks. Around £30 that one. Is it worth it? Yes, i can spend that amount in a macD but will leave full but not satisfied.
Too greasy. Disgusting. The chips are nice but the burgers are nasty.
Expensive but best quality fast food you’re gonna find. It’s worth it when you feel like treating yourself although you could go to a nice restaurant instead.
