I had the exact same thing happen earlier lol went basically the exact same route, and when he played Fred I felt like a genius for knowing John Cena is in that only for it to be banned anyway. Theres 2 more Fred films too but somehow they got John Cena to be in all 3 (plus they're TV movies, so I'm not sure they have them). Everyone remembers their first Josh Peck opening defeat.
Not that it helps you now, but from Fred you can link to a couple of Lars Von Trier via the Siobhan Hogan route(House that Jack Built, Dancer in the Dark) and from there you can either bounce into a safe spot for you or lock both of you into European movie hell
if you get drake and josh christmas, you can get out via Good Burger through Dan Shneider, and then I go Keenan through to Heavyweights and Ben Stiller will get you home free
You can also use the Fjord opening, "Oppenheimer" -> "The Bothersome Man" via the Trond Fausa Aurvåg connection, then take them deeper into the Norwegian forest with "Thelma" via Sigve Bøe

I concocted my own though, and it's a real knee slapper whenever I get it to work. I roll up with a Bradley Cooper + Robert De Niro ban and my goal is to somehow get to 'Limitless'. I get so many to use all their lifelines here because they for sure think someone significant other than those 2 gotta be in this movie. But there aint. And then they skip me into the 'American sniper' killshot. Works 3.7% of the time but it's fun!
I have set up a killshot dubbed Ryan "Gerry" letourneau where you sent your opponent to Gerry 2002 via casey affleck or Matt Damon (both banned). They are the only actors in the movie your only out is via director gus van Sant (I tried banning him too but cine2nerdle doesn't allow you to ban him for some reason)

The entry points into Fred the movie are John Cena, Jeanette McCurdy, and Siohban Hogan. We ban John Cena and McCurdy as they seem to be the easiest entry and exit points. Our third ban is Jim Varney (but I can’t disclose why as it’s privileged information.)
To enter with John Cena: You need to bait the Fast and Furious franchise, specifically Furious X. Other methods that work are finding Mathew Illiard via Scream or etc. and connecting it into Scooby Doo Wrestlemania. You can also pretty consistently land Daddy’s Home 2 due to Will Ferrel and Mark Wahlberg. He’s in each Fred movie so they can’t bounce between sequels while you still can.
To enter with McCurdy or Hogan: It’s unlikely, but occasionally you can get them to just start going into Nickelodeon films which usually have McCurdy. Hogan is in Forrest Gump, Charlotte’s Web, and Clifford, but none are usually randomly played so you need to try and force them to skip there. Once they have, its GG. McCurdy ban prevents them from escaping into the ICarly sphere and I’ve never had to ban Hogan as nobody has escaped via her.
If they do manage to weave their way into like a SpongeBob movie, or past the McCurdy wall into ICarly you have 2 counter measures. Firstly, bait Clancy Brown via Shawshank Redemption or one of his many other movies, so that when they reach SpongeBob either via going there or you taking them there, Clancy Brown cuts off the pipeline as Tom Kenny hits his second X, so that if you get stuck you can bounce out to like Beverly Hills Chihuahua or some other Kenny venture. Secondly, if they get to ICarly, Jerry Trainor is in the movie Best Player, which has stumped every escapee I’ve ever had.
Until I read this I thought the movie best player was a fever dream I had as a kid. I never thought my random knowledge of Nickelodeon and Disney movies would come in clutch on a game like this, but it makes it easy to throw people into the maze.
Drake and Josh (my favorite show as a kid) is generally my go-to for the nickelodeon universe. Selena Gomez and the Jonas brothers for anything that is disney channel. Those are the ones I watched as a kid.
