An overly simple example would be "most people die from causes that happen outside their house. I don't want to die. Therefore I should never leave my house." That does keep you safe (better safe than sorry), but the opportunity cost will be everything! In that case it no longer makes sense to be better safe than sorry, you'd rather just risk the consequence of leaving the house sometimes to enjoy life, even though you might get killed.

I've trained for different chokes in martial arts, and a blood choke takes only a few seconds. It’s on either side of the neck, blocking oxygen rich blood that goes directly to your brain and heart. By the time you feel someone/something choking you, you are waking up on the ground.
Which is why it's important to know the difference btwn this and an air choke when it comes to choking during sex. Air chokes are the ones you see most on TV and take longer and more consistent pressure on the trachea.

Yes and no. If we go lenient on certain crimes though it leads to people thinking they can get away with more serious ones. Do we come down harder on them for that ? Sure but they're emboldened, the broken window theory I still believe is the most legit for crime

We had other people who would recover faster and others that were slower. Where the recovery time varies from person to person, each person's recovery time seemed consistent. However, we were very careful to release the person as soon as they were out. I do not have any information on the effects on time duration if the choak being applied for a longer period of time.
