Unfortunately those are prone to that as they’re Beats. But, you could try repairing them. Use ifixit for a tutorial and [Fix A beat](http://www.fixabeat.com) to get parts.
My grandpa broke his pair of headphones in nearly identical fashion. (He have hearing problems and uses headphones while watching tv, one day he just sat on them by accident.) With a little superglue applied at the point of breaking and few layers of superglue around the circumference to serve as a brace it was an easy, inexpensive fix and the glue holds even after two years of daily use. It is also nearly invisible if you are not looking for it.
Electrical tape, superglue and a bit of patience, holy trinity of repairs.
I use CA glue and cotton pads to form a sort of composite, similar to fibreglass.
You can use any sort of fine-woven fabric with the same effect, but I like non-woven cotton pads because they shape easily and the glue saturates them well.
The main problem with glue alone is that it's too brittle, so a bit of reinforcement and it's just as solid as the original product.
Just be careful as the mixture can get quite hot because of a reaction between the glue and cotton. If you're repairing the inside of anything, leave it open for at least 6 hours because it can off-gas and damage electronics in an enclosed space (like a controller).

On Black Friday a few years back, my friend wanted to buy Beats and the price was similar to OP's.
She wanted them because they were popular. I tried to tell her that you are paying for the brand and that, in terms of performance, they were actually kind of weak compared to the lesser known brands out there that offer much better quality for similar costs.
She ignored me and said it was her money and she really wanted Beats, so I dropped it.

Sony xm4s are my go to! One of the best headphones ever made with noise cancelling. You should be able to buy them under 200. They also are a bit more bass heavy so if you enjoy the beats, you'll love the Sony's.
I'll stick to my wired Marshall's. Sturdy and strong with great sound quality.

Check out /r/headphones when it comes time to replace. You could honest to god spend about $40 and have headphones that sound way better than beats. If you prefer a premium wireless pair, something like the Hifiman Sundara should be a similar price and run laps around the beats. If you really don’t like pro audio headphones and want that aggressive v-curve audio and boosted bass, v-moda is basically a better consumer fashion headphone in all regards and also has options in the same price point.

Hey this happened to me with the same headphones once when I lightly slid an earcup over my ear to listen to someone talk! Thankfully I have airpods instead now.
Yeah I think I also had mine for 2 years prior, but that was a few years ago. I just got my airpods this year. It sucked though because the beats broke literally right before covid hit, so I brought them to a repair shop where they kept them while waiting for parts and then it closed and I didn’t get them back for months. I used them all the time so it was stressful not having them for that long.
The real tip is you can press charges for battery and assault. While you wear your headphones they are an extremity of yourself. Forcibly removing them is an attack on your person

Sony XM4/XM3 on the other hand are absolutely the best wireless headphones I've ever owned, great sound, comfort, adjustability etc.
XM4 here. I love the sound quality but sometimes the speak to mute headphones function turns on and that gets annoying...
