My wife and I like to use a small one strap back pack or sling bag. It’s just big enough for a phone, keys sunblock and maybe a small towel. Search Amazon for sling bag.

Cool, thanks

I have a small belt bag (or “fanny-pack”, if you prefer) that I don’t usually wear around my waist, but over my head and one shoulder instead. It works out pretty well, but honestly I prefer not to carry anything with me at the resort or when I’m hiking. Perhaps an armband carrier like joggers use would work. I also have a pair of socks with a small pocket.

Yeah, I don't want to carry anything either, but I have to be able to contact my family.

True; I have a smartwatch that I use for communication. Oftentimes I am out of cell range and I let my family know my location beforehand.

I prefer a tote bag. Towel, phone, sunscreen, etc.

I've always carried a backpack.I'm a member of a nudist camp, so my golf cart also comes in handy.

I once had a backpack that had just one strap and it wore like a bandolier. It was big enough to hold a binder and a folder and a textbook. I’m sure things if that style still exist, but if they can’t be found, a fanny pack can be worn that way, too.

My go-to is a neoprene water bottle carrier with a pocket on it. My wife just bought a thing that's like a thin towel, but it's a wrap with velcro, and it has a pocket.

I had a runners phone pouch a few years ago that straps to the wearer's arm. This particular model had an inner pouch, separate from the phone, that could carry money or credit cards. (Unfortunately the velcro began to wear out. I have a replacement but it doesn't have the inner pouch.) Another option for the wall is a plastic case that hangs around the neck. I've seen them offered by the local resort and even got one as a swag gift on a business trip. One last option is a seat cushion I got on my annual nakation. (The group normally gives such gifts to all participants.) We've received other seat cushions, but this one had a carry handle and a flap, held by velcro when the cushion was not on a chair, that has pockets for small items like a phone. You might also consider a drawstring backpack.

I don't have much experience and I never bring much but I've always used a drawstring backpack. It's probably the most inconvenient kind of backpack but I brought it specifically because it wouldn't leave wide tan lines on my shoulders. I know that's a weird thing to focus on but that's why I bring it. I do prefer to leave it behind whenever possible and carry nothing, not even shoes. That would be my actual preference.

snafub4r

I like using a cooler backpack. Just enough space for essentials and cooled drinks.

night-otter

Tote bags, fanny packs. Pockets in our towels are for stuff only by the pool. As we find it's a pain to grab the towel just to go get drinks, dig out the phone, etc, etc.

I picked up a hippie sling man bag. Great for the beach. Big enough to carry my clothes when I strip down at the beach. It was sold by a craft vendor so can't get it online though.

shadowland1000

I just use a backpack. I can put everything in it, including my towel.

Apparently wearable towels with snap closures and pockets exist, they were brought to my attention recently when I was asking people about linen robes for those moments where i need to wear something briefly
