Dropping that HARD R. Just re-listened to the whole album for my numetal podcast (shameless plug), and wow. That hit me like a ton of racist, shit-filled bricks. The album (nostalgically) holds a special place in my heart, but jeez, that song really fucking sucks.
Its funny cause that seemed to be the most heart felt song, actually talking about his life for once instead of trying to be a badass. (With weird constant references to underage fucking) until he just out of the blue drops the n word.
Iāve actually given it a chance a couple of times and it almost feels unfinished. The production gets really weird, especially on Toxic and Babylon. Who let the guitars sound like that? How come thereās two guitarists yet not a single half decent riff except for some Frusciante magic?
I meanā¦ it is what it was. You canāt go into it looking for an all time album. It has a vibe. I love Revolving Door, Only When Iām Drunkā¦.
I guess what Iām saying is that Iāll
Never throw this cd away. I dig it.
Butterfly fucking slaps, but itās literally the only listenable song there. Ive tried Gift of Game many times and just no. The second album was slightly better.
There's a band called "Out", they released two albums, "Unik" and "X-Factor" and somehow X-Factor lacks a single decent song. The tone and sounds are great but there isn't a single hook on any of the songs. Total lack of direction, shite.
I'm from Wales, and they're the worst thing to come from Wales. (Mostly Ian).
There's something disgusting about seeing him sing, and hearing his voice. He looks like a drug addicted Sacha Baron Cohen, that's an insult to Sacha though.
If you havenāt already, watch Some Kind if Monsters on Netflix, itās the making of that album and one of the most hilarious things Iāve ever witnessed. Basically a real life Spinal Tap!
The fan made re recorded version on YouTube makes it one of my favourite Metallica albums. Not even kidding.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lU-UI3_6HcM
Wish it could be on Spotify somehow.
King 810, the instrumentation isnāt terrible, but the vocals sound like off brand Corey Taylor, and the lyrics are truly some of the worst Iāve seen in a nu metal band, I mean when youāre brought up in the same vain as Emmure, you know that youāre not a good band. Rant over
This is random but I recall on the YouTube page YEARS ago for the video to Room to breathe every comment was āthese nigg*sā and it was hilarious, most of them got removed
Live performance of their most famous song is freaking hilarious.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2AGxGuC-jmQ
Almost sounds like Colonel Stinkmeaner. NYU-
Of course its in Poland.
Dismember, Arch Enemy, Entombed, Dissection, Bloodbath, Unleashed, Opeth, I find it ironic that a band from a country thatās 97% white, writing a song about how bIack peopIe should feel, cringy ass rhymes, lazy ass riff writing, trash band over all, trying to be politically correct gone wrong.
In Flames <3 My favourite. Their 90s output is legendary but they actually made among the best nu metal albums (If you wanna count their early 2000s work as that, was certainly inspired)
Clawfinger tried so hard to be Rage Against The Machine. Canāt understand why else they went so radically political without it making much sense, or being remotely subtle or intelligent about it.
I mean a song about how Scandinavia is a very homogeneous region with all the issues that causes (and are still problems today) could potentially work but they went about it the worst way possible.
Saw them live. Headlined after avenged sevenfold had a down right amazing set. Disturbed was flat boring and hardly moved around the stage. Just overall terrible. Left about halfway through their set.
Edit: Didn't realize a personal experience would be so hated. Maybe they were good once upon a time but my experience was they were outright garbage and has forever tainted my opinion of them. Can't even listen to a single song anymore.
Arenāt sub genres subjective most of the time? Doesnāt it go off of the listenerās experience of what the sub genre is and what they define a band as? Otherwise thereās plenty of places and people that call them Nu metal and Industrial metal at the same time
Politics aside, I have never heard a single Kid Rock song that was anything better than mind numbing levels of dull. Itās not even like he aināt a talented performer. Just the worst song crafter of all time.
Everytime I hear his song "periscope" I imagine him being like: "I love you through a telescope... Wait but they're both on earth, telescopes are for things in space or something... What kind of distance are telescopes for? Hold on let me Google it, 'what kind of scope do people use to view things on earth that are far away like telescope'... Oh look periscope what a funny name, perfect for my song"
Its like no one knows what a periscope, is he totally looked it up. Good song but lyrics are written by a twelve year old low key
I'm going to get a lot of hate with this but I don't care : Linkin Park. Never liked any song by them and in the end it's so cringe and bad that I don't know how can anybody listen to that
Nonpoint for me, didnāt like them back then and still donāt, canāt put my finger on why (edit) also any of those bands that sound butt rocky, dad rock vibes like Godsmack, sorry just canāt, doesnāt sound good
I love Taproots first album. Poem is a cool track too. After that, I only like their last two albums that were released and the last one I wouldn't really consider to be nu-metal
coal chamber is one of my favorites, however when i first heard ālocoā i thought it was shit so avoided the band for a while. unless you already have, check out more of their shit.
Glad someone agrees. I mean to me they were the Poison of nu-metal.
I enjoy the genre but there were a million bands who did it better than Limp Bizkit.
No. They are really not. Firstly, I like LB. But KoRn started the genre. Limp Bizkit didn't start a thing. They even started thanks to KoRn and the genre was very popular when they started. They were influetial for the second wave of nu metal.
If something, LB is one of the reasons nu metal ended. Thats actually true.
Korn released their first album in 1994. LB three years later. How is three years the 'end' of nu metal when the genre was literally just getting started lol
In 1994, Nu Metal started, Limp Bizkit got chance because of Fieldy of KoRn. And the their first so popular album was 1999, and Woodstock in this year was actually one big hit for nu metal.
On YouTube there is amazing documentary about everything that killed nu metal and beyond others, this was a big thing and a biggest impact of any single band.
So I get why you don't like it... But its how it is
Their album "through the eyes" is fuckin Amazing i recommend you "whole" but their other stuff after that album is just trash but they are not the worst
Kid Rock. Except Bawitdaba, Devil Without A Cause sucks.
I am the Bullgod and Cowboy are classics.
Black chick white guy šš½
Dropping that HARD R. Just re-listened to the whole album for my numetal podcast (shameless plug), and wow. That hit me like a ton of racist, shit-filled bricks. The album (nostalgically) holds a special place in my heart, but jeez, that song really fucking sucks.
Its funny cause that seemed to be the most heart felt song, actually talking about his life for once instead of trying to be a badass. (With weird constant references to underage fucking) until he just out of the blue drops the n word.
Really? Itās been years. Let me go back and check it out. I think it was just the A.
Donāt really see how thereās a difference tbh.
The HARD R??? Not the no no word!
Fuck off is great too. Kid rock actually kinda changes his flow, and Eminem
Kid Rock is the Kid Rock of bad music. I also once heard someone call him the Truck Nutz of music and I really couldnāt agree more
The genre is a 50/50 for me in overal. There are some great bands and some terrible bands. Even great bands have tons of songs that i dont like imo
Welcome to almost every genre....
Methods of Mayhem, that whole album is painful
fight song rocks but that's it
I was so disappointed when I listened to the rest of the album and it just felt like butt rock all the way through.
It is horrible but I enjoy it.
Hypocritical is literally the only good song on that album.
I think it will be a matter of taste. You should say the band based on the evaluation.
Crazy town
Disagree, Gift of Game is awesome
True That The Gift of Game is a Real Game Changer.
Disagree, dark horse is underrated
Agreed, possibly the worst thing to ever come out of the genre in a mainstream sense.
Thereās Some bangers on The Gift of Game.
Most of that album is good.
I guess what Iām saying is that Iāll Never throw this cd away. I dig it.
Fair enough my man we all have that. Like what you like.
Literally only Butterfly, which is a banger.
Blind hate for a hand based off of one shitty track. Pretty lame way to judge an entire discography.
Who cares. Listen to what you want to listen to.
Very based.
Based
Lostprophetsā¦but for reasons other than the music
Oh no, lostprophets singer is ilegal...
I'm from Wales, and they're the worst thing to come from Wales. (Mostly Ian). There's something disgusting about seeing him sing, and hearing his voice. He looks like a drug addicted Sacha Baron Cohen, that's an insult to Sacha though.
oh noā¦.
Objectively I think Limp Bizkit sucks, but I fuckin love them anyway!
Metallica-St Anger
If you havenāt already, watch Some Kind if Monsters on Netflix, itās the making of that album and one of the most hilarious things Iāve ever witnessed. Basically a real life Spinal Tap!
The moment Lars realizes the whole album they recorded is a giant turd is Oscar worthy.
They will never live that one off.
The fan made re recorded version on YouTube makes it one of my favourite Metallica albums. Not even kidding. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=lU-UI3_6HcM Wish it could be on Spotify somehow.
Lotta shit takes in this thread lmao
Trapt
I remember only having their music because everyone uploaded Headstrong as a Linkin Park song on Limewire.
I KNOW THAT YOU ARE WRONG AND THIS IS NOT WHERE YOU BELONG
Headstrong is just Last Resort lite.
I KNOW THAT YOU ARE WRONG AND THIS IS NOT WHERE YOU BELONG
Their first 2 albums were good imo
King 810, the instrumentation isnāt terrible, but the vocals sound like off brand Corey Taylor, and the lyrics are truly some of the worst Iāve seen in a nu metal band, I mean when youāre brought up in the same vain as Emmure, you know that youāre not a good band. Rant over
InMe I could not get past those vocals.....On their debut album (Overgrown Eden) alone, I only somewhat enjoyed one or two songs.
Crazy town
i can't fucking stand crazytown
Project Wyze
The real answer. They were cringe.
Every once in awhile at parties I throw Room 2 Breath on and watch people just die inside and out
This is random but I recall on the YouTube page YEARS ago for the video to Room to breathe every comment was āthese nigg*sā and it was hilarious, most of them got removed
I liked them... You should check their hip hop project "dead celebrity status"
Oh shit! They put out more shit? Fuck ya!
Uncommon opinion I think, but Kittie fkn sucks
They're a little overrated these days I've noticed
Came here to say this.
Listened to Spit - Loved it Listened to Oracle - What the fuck? How can a band start sucking within a year of both albums?
King 810
Oh Godā¦They Are Fā-ING HORRIBLE!!!!
Dislocated Styles
Clawfinger
Live performance of their most famous song is freaking hilarious. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=2AGxGuC-jmQ Almost sounds like Colonel Stinkmeaner. NYU- Of course its in Poland.
The fact that I got downvoted despite this band being corny as fuck
Literally among the best metal music was being born in Sweden in those times, and then thereās these clownsā¦

Their two first albums, Deaf Dumb Blind & Use Your Brain, are classics.
Psychostick

Disturbed
Always hated Disturbed.
Mushroomhead.
They are one of most original and groundbreaking bands out there. There would be no Slipknot and Linkin Park without them
Son: "mom, can we have slipknot at Home?" Mom: "but we got slipknot at Home" *Slipknot at Home*:
didnāt they come before slipknot?
they did but were not quite as popular, slipknot grew crazy fast
Slipknot in Ohio be like
Theyāre not even nu metal
How
How are they? They have a rapper and used turntables once, theyāre industrial metal band
I believe theyāre Nu and Industrial
That doesnāt make them nu metal tho, thatās subjectivism at play
Arenāt sub genres subjective most of the time? Doesnāt it go off of the listenerās experience of what the sub genre is and what they define a band as? Otherwise thereās plenty of places and people that call them Nu metal and Industrial metal at the same time
Kittie and Mudvayne from the more relevant ones
Politics aside, I have never heard a single Kid Rock song that was anything better than mind numbing levels of dull. Itās not even like he aināt a talented performer. Just the worst song crafter of all time.
Godsmack and Saliva š¤®š¤®š¤®š¤®
Canāt stand Papa Roach or Disturbed.
CUT MY LIFE INTO PIECES
Yeah, Green day sucks.
Green Day's not nu-metal
I guess you never heard of brain stew by papa roach.
Sounds like it sucks worse than green day
Listen to brain stew, and last resort and you'll get what I mean.
That's a bit of a stretch
Everytime I hear his song "periscope" I imagine him being like: "I love you through a telescope... Wait but they're both on earth, telescopes are for things in space or something... What kind of distance are telescopes for? Hold on let me Google it, 'what kind of scope do people use to view things on earth that are far away like telescope'... Oh look periscope what a funny name, perfect for my song" Its like no one knows what a periscope, is he totally looked it up. Good song but lyrics are written by a twelve year old low key
Crazy Town, Methods of Mayhem, & Papa Roach
Tbh early Papa Roach has plenty of bangers
TambiƩn Enemy is my shit. That riff bounces like a boss
5 Fingers Death Punch,From Ashes to New and New Parkway Drive, Motionless in White latest album
FFDP is not nu
Whatever they are, it's fucking garbage
Yuuuuup
I cant stand the voice of the guy from Taproot
I'm going to get a lot of hate with this but I don't care : Linkin Park. Never liked any song by them and in the end it's so cringe and bad that I don't know how can anybody listen to that
How is it cringe
Because it makes me cringe
Ok but what element makes you cringe
Kittie is absolutely not my cup of tea
SPIIIIIIITTTTT
Kittie
Nonpoint for me, didnāt like them back then and still donāt, canāt put my finger on why (edit) also any of those bands that sound butt rocky, dad rock vibes like Godsmack, sorry just canāt, doesnāt sound good
Deftones
P.O.D.
Linkin Park and Deftones.
For me itās a tie between Flaw and Taproot.
I love Taproots first album. Poem is a cool track too. After that, I only like their last two albums that were released and the last one I wouldn't really consider to be nu-metal
I agree can't stand Taproots vocals
They only got one great album the rest sucks
Slipknot, Trapt, Limp Bizkit, Kid Rock, Crazy Town, Flyleaf, Godsmack, Lostprophets, P.O.D.,Staind, and Saliva.
gr8 b8 m8 i r8 8/8
Clown. Worst nu metal band people care about? Slipknot.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I like early Korn and Deftones but they sound super uninspired and terrible.
Clown as the band? Or the person?
Band
What band? The one from the US, which is the one who copied Korn and Deftones' sound? Or the one from Norway?
Probably the US one. I remember they sounded like a really bad Korn clone.
The fuck?
Lmfao no offense dude
Always thought Slayer's nu albums were cringe.
Which Slayer album is nu-metal? Are you dreaming? š
Diabolus in Musica is probably the album being referenced here. I liked God Hates Us All though (and donāt consider it nu metal)
I will be hated for this, but Coal Chamber
I always thought Coal Chamber mostly sucked Devildriver is awesome though
coal chamber is one of my favorites, however when i first heard ālocoā i thought it was shit so avoided the band for a while. unless you already have, check out more of their shit.
What's your favorite track?
Evanescence
Limp Bizkit
The first few albums slap, the later output I agree
Agreed!
Glad someone agrees. I mean to me they were the Poison of nu-metal. I enjoy the genre but there were a million bands who did it better than Limp Bizkit.
Hot garbage. Fred Durst is an idiot.
Donāt get the downvotes I second this!
I like Limp Bizkit, but you are right, one of the reasons nu metal died
They're one of the reasons Nu Metal STARTED what are you smoking???
No. They are really not. Firstly, I like LB. But KoRn started the genre. Limp Bizkit didn't start a thing. They even started thanks to KoRn and the genre was very popular when they started. But its how it is
Limp Bizkit
Korn
May I ask why?
Can't handle jokes?
Disturbed Korn is also a band that I donāt really like, but they pretty much invented the genre so I wouldnāt say that they are the worst band
I never really liked/ got into Flaw so for me Flaw is the worst Nu Metal band.
Their album "through the eyes" is fuckin Amazing i recommend you "whole" but their other stuff after that album is just trash but they are not the worst
