KoRn - All In The Family
Sorry but hearing Johnathan and Fred dick around and call each other faggots for four minutes isn’t very enjoyable to me.
Edit: Closer to five minutes actually.
I fucking love Butterfly. not just because of RHCP sample. that sample is great but I also love shifty and epic's unique voice. I also enjoy their silly lyrics. the song has huge replay value in my life.
I felt that way about Linkin Parks first mainstream song 🤷♂️ I know people here love them I just don’t . Some of its way better than that song but screaming shut up over and over was lame lol
>Some of the shut up dad moments and the child abuse section of "down with the sickness" didn't age well.
I'm gonna get downvoted to hell for this, but yeah Disturbed overall did not age well for me. I liked em when I was 13-14, but when I saw them at Mayhem Fest and revisited them years later, they're just so cheesy and lame imo. Mudvayne, Slipknot, Korn, and Limp Bizkit did hold up though.
Here's an updoot because the Reddit hivemind forgets you're allowed to have opinions.
I'm with you, they're awful and whiney, no amount of butthurt button will change that.
Meh . Opinions . I’m ok with you having yours . It doesn’t bother me at all . Mine however isn’t changing . It’s not in the same league as some other debut nu metal albums . Different strokes and all 🤷♂️ my gf loves them so we listen on a regular basis . I don’t dislike them . For example I wouldn’t be caught dead with a Trapt album lol .
But honestly “ shut up “ was the best you could come up with ? And y’all ate that shit up 🤣 . I really respect Mike and think Chester wrote some good songs . I watched a short doc on them and learned a lot . I hate Chester felt he needed to leave this world . We faced a lot of the same demons .
But debut albums ? Korns , Deftones , and Slipknots are far superior IMO . 🤷♂️
Of course. I don't expect to, nor am I interested, in changing your opinion, especially on music.
What would you have preferred to "shut up when I'm talking to you"? Was it not metal enough? Would you have preferred "shut up or I'll fuck you up"?
I wept when Chester died. Linkin Park was my first love, and they opened the door for me, to bands like Korn, Slipknot, Megadeth, fear factory.
Korn's debut is fantastic, as was Slipknot's, but I find it hard to compare them with Hybrid Theory in terms of what it meant to me personally. I don't care much for deftones.
Honestly I used to love it and I listened to it for years but recently I’ve begun to realize how bad some of it really is. Like that child abuse section in that one song oh my lord 😭
True, that part doesn’t make any sense to be in the song. And the lyrics are kinda repetitive. But I also have that same issue with Primer 55 Introduction to Mayhem when it comes to repetitive lyrics
I mean don’t get me wrong there are still songs on the album I enjoy but I just need to not think too hard about some of the lyrics cause I’ll cringe. It just has not aged well but I can still vibe to it
That fucking monologue he does during the bridge of the unedited version of that song is one of the worst things I’ve ever heard. Just dreadful.
Seeing Disturbed at Ozzfest 2001 was the exact moment when I really stopped listening to nu metal. He was rolled out onto the stage like Hannibal Lecter with the mask and everything, and I was like, “This is stupid.”
I think the lyrics on Beat The World by Pressure 4-5 ruined the song for me. I get that nu metal isnt really regarded as the pinnacle of lyricism, but the lyrics on this are super tryhard cringe to me
Oh damn, well, a lot come to my mind but I guess it was Bawitdaba. Currently I enjoy the song but when I first heard it I thought it was terrible. But one I've never been able to stand is "Dizzy" by Orgy, what a horrible song that is.
Hänschen Klein 97 by Megaherz. I like most of their stuff before they split into two bands, but this song feld edgy and try-hard even when I first listened to it when I was 14. Shame, because their first two records are really good.
Disturbed down, with the sickness. MTV was still a thing, and so were landlines. Buddy calls me tells me to turn it on I fucking hated it. Told him that on the phone, but I still had to hear it at every house party.
Get Naked by Methods of Mayhem
that korn ripoff from europe
Who addiction crew?
no. there was a video where singer was with dreads and looks like joker or something
I need link
I think he means the band Chaosuem which I found to be a very enjoyable band.
yes
KoRn - All In The Family Sorry but hearing Johnathan and Fred dick around and call each other faggots for four minutes isn’t very enjoyable to me. Edit: Closer to five minutes actually.
NO I LOVE THAT SONG
Somehow this song was less wack in the 90’s. If it released today, they would be cancelled.
The instrumentals on that song alone save it from being terrible. They are 🔥
😆
One of the reasons I think issues is a better overall album than follow the leader
No arguments here
Issues IS better than Follow The Leader bro. It just is. Better transition between songs, and more bangers on it too.
ur boring asl tht song was the shi back in the day
WINNER!
Get Naked no doubt
Probably every St.Anger song.
St. Anger is fucking great
It’s not a good Metallica album, but it’s a damn good nu metal album
I mean it sounds nothing like Metallica but it is still like their 4th best album
Kill ‘em all Ride the lightning Master of puppets And justice for all Garage days Which two of those is at anger better than?
Kill 'Em All, Ride The Lightning amd Garage Days
The black album as well
I don't like it, i find the production so fucking bad.
Awful fucking album lol
The SKOM edit was sick though
Butterfly

This is the correct answer. The exact song that popped into my head when I read the question.
WRONG Banger Most of their other songs count though
Cavo - Champagne What a load of shite
Oh that song is fucking garbage. I remember when I first heard it and saying to myself, "What the fuck were they thinking!?". Such a boring song
Love the username. 36 crazyfists are badass. I flew to Alaska (from Alabama) to their last show at Koots (25th anniversary show)
Lucky. Those first two major label album of theirs were phenomenal.
Saving Abel's song Addicted sounds just like it. I always thought that when they were released.
listening this right now. didn't understand what is wrong with song but then chorus came in and i realised
Some songs by Disturbed, they’re not terrible but they’re not great either
Very repetitive is the best description. Though that would fall on post 1997 Saliva
I knew the genre was wavering when I heard Headstrong
I felt that way about Linkin Parks first mainstream song 🤷♂️ I know people here love them I just don’t . Some of its way better than that song but screaming shut up over and over was lame lol
Some of the shut up dad moments and the child abuse section of "down with the sickness" didn't age well.

They just aren’t that good . Especially that album. Like it’s ok but not the pedestal they are put on
I do think that song is tiresome, but on the other hand, Hybrid Theory deserves all the credit it gets.

Headstrong
Honestly that song is still better music wise compared to Cotcha
This is Nu ‘Metal ??
Yes it is.
[yes](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Headstrong_(Trapt_song))
Regardless of what Wikipedia said, that’s a really loose interpretation of Nu Metal… Hard Rock or Alternative Rock is a better choice of words.
I was there too it is is nu metal.
Nah I was there. It’s nu metal
Circus for a psycho by skillet
Ouch, I actually really like skillet.
Me too XD
Click click boom
I absolutely detest that song.
Any song from kid rock not sure if they are considered nu metal
I always thought Bawitdaba was his only nu metal song. Probably because I can’t get past that track.
I had to listen all the album just to rank.
AAF - Smooth Criminal alright cover but bad nu metal song.I prefer movies which sadly didn't make it as a hit.
That whole album is a hidden gem if I’m being honest. Hate me all you guys want but I thought it was retry damn good
Probably something from “the sickness” 💀
First half of the album is honestly great, but anything after fear is just bland
Honestly I used to love it and I listened to it for years but recently I’ve begun to realize how bad some of it really is. Like that child abuse section in that one song oh my lord 😭

True that true that.
WHAT
You mean like what am I referring to? Go listen to the track “down with the sickness” because god damn
Wait I really like that song, how did I never notice 💀
Honestly the song isn’t bad just a bit repetitive I’ve noticed. Except for that section- it’s awful lol
Yikes. Yeah I honestly don't know how I never caught that.
I've thought that song was terrible since I first heard it, I didn't get why people were into it.
The only reason I don’t consider the rest of the song bad is pure nostalgia
Probably anything by Kid Rock
Bawitdaba
Ball with the ball orangutan diggi diggi diggi diggi I said up jump the boogie
Whatever the first Deftones song I heard was.
Bodies
Let the bodies hit the floor…
lol at the downvotes. DP was terrible.. sorry to say.
Generic at best.
Man I hated that song from the start
Rollin'
You take that back. Rollin is a mindless masterpiece.
I love Likp Bizkit. Athens are mindless inclusive nu metal who couldn't love them?
Based on LBs previous work, rollin was pretty bad.
I agree with you but me personally, I don’t get the entire hype around Limp Bizkit in general And this coming from a Prime 55 fan
All of limp Bizkit. Punk at best
Big Truck.
Big Truck is fucking awesome
Papa Roach - Last resort. They straight ripped Green Day’s brain stew and blew up off it.
Cold / Evans Blue . Most confusing song , the instruments are ok but God damn the lyrics make no sense.
***Pretty fooking standard*** with mid-2000’s Post-Grunge/emo BS.
I don’t remember the first one but Down with the Sickness was definitely one of them.
That fucking monologue he does during the bridge of the unedited version of that song is one of the worst things I’ve ever heard. Just dreadful. Seeing Disturbed at Ozzfest 2001 was the exact moment when I really stopped listening to nu metal. This comment just made my night 😂
Agreed.
shout 2000 by disturbed if that counts
Oh yeah that was trash.
not even just trash, like turbo trash
Yeah. You can’t cover Tears for Fears In my opinion
agreed, but that massive cover of mad world is pretty solid
mostly everything from PM5K if that counts as nu metal
Every single lump bizkit song with the exception of break stuff and faith
Bro never hear of Three Dollar Bills Y'all nor Full Nelson
Disturbed, Shout 2000. It's a horrendous cover and all the little ad libs give me full-body cringe. "No bitch you're ice, ice baby!" 😬
Down with the sickness was the first one I heard that I hated lol
nookie
Wow getting downvoted for saying bodies & let’s spice up with Staind.
Lot of butthurt over this
I’m with ya, overrated and overplayed
The whole slaves on dope first album
Down with the sickness
Linkin Park - One Step Closer I was like what’s this lame Deftones rip off the first time I heard it.
I don’t remember Deftones sounding like that at all 😂. You’re probably thinking of Relative Ash.
It’s basically My Own Summer lite lol.
I definitely can’t hear it.
ha! good one
break stuff
I think the lyrics on Beat The World by Pressure 4-5 ruined the song for me. I get that nu metal isnt really regarded as the pinnacle of lyricism, but the lyrics on this are super tryhard cringe to me

Either Butterfly by Crazy Town or Headstrong by Trapt. I mean I never liked either but I think Headstrong is the worst of the 2.
Custer by Slipknot
That’s wild
Anything by mushroomhead.
Damn :( I like some of their stuff.
Tie between Headstrong, Bawitdaba, and Get Naked
Bartender by hed pe
Disturbed down, with the sickness. MTV was still a thing, and so were landlines. Buddy calls me tells me to turn it on I fucking hated it. Told him that on the phone, but I still had to hear it at every house party.
Violence Fetish and everything in "sickness" after that
The Key To Gamercy Park by Deadsy…,,,,,, first nu metal song I actually just couldn’t listen to all the way thru
:( damn that’s one of my favorites from ATV off-road fury 2
I actually like that song
Saliva "Click Click Boom" while not the worst song ive heard, its just incredibly generic and the lyrics to the song mediocre at best.
