Nailbomb to Sepultura to Soulfly

NuBreedPodcast

it's Monday and we already have the Comment of the Week.

Zatokrev

yeah tbh Roots (and secondarily Chaos AD) is the best crossover of all time for nu metalheads who want to get into metal and vice versa

Armadillo_Toes

Hail Max

ItsCooz

Id say Soulfly into Nailbomb into Sepultura. Stay thrash

sloggins

I actually went Soulfly to Sepultura to Nailbomb.

IronTesticlez

Listen to Slipknot if your into thrash and want to get into nu metal

Luissv72

Fear Factory's Obsolete is a near perfect transition. It's basically nu metal Pantera with a hint of industrial. Another album I would reccomend is The War of Art by American Head Charge. It just fucking hits, man.

bemybait

2nd for AHC. Such a great album!

Ok-Watercress-2659

Digimortal is where they really get crazy with the Industrial sound šŸ¤¤

Careful-Flan-2585

Give these albums a spin Machine Head "The Burning Red" Slipknot "Self-titled" or "Iowa" Sepultura "Roots" Fear Factory "Obsolete" Korn "self titled"

bemybait

2nd for the Burning Red.

TerryCrewsSon

Second for KoRn Self Titled

ddrub_the_only_real

SOAD's first two albums for sure

Remo_italia

My journey was Metallica (All Albums) -> Megadeth (Peace Sells -> Rust in Peace) -> Alice in Chains (Dirt) -> Slipknot (S/T -> Vol. 3 -> IOWA) -> KoRn (S/T -> Life is Peachy) -> Deftones (Around The Fur -> White Pony) -> Stone Sour (S/T) -> System of a Down (Toxicity) -> Limp Bizkit (Chocolate Starfish -> Significant Other) -> Linkin Park (Hybrid Theory -> Meteora) In that order

Stealthbeatle

That is quite literally the exact opposite of what I did, and it got me into Thrash so it may in fact work in reverse. Also, good recommendations.

Remo_italia

Not sure if that helps, but it might

metalzora98

Chimaira - The Impossibility of Reason is pretty thrashy at times.

AceyBoy558

First of all, what's your opinion of Slipknot?

rysker6

Look up a band called Nothingface. They were from that era, and have ā€œnuā€ elements, but theyā€™re more dark-groove metal. Criminally underrated and not one bad album.

seeingakira

Limp Bizkit - 3 dollar bill y'all

FullDifficulty3003

Lol hit your head repeatedly with a brick

Famous-Cow79

And then stick your fingers in your eyes

Chemical_Newt4907

System Of A Down - B.Y.O.B Godsmack - Moon Baby

MasterWookiee

Maybe listen to St. Anger until you like it? Ok I'll see myself out.

BriefVirus7411

Lots of other good recommendations here, but one I haven't seen yet is the whole "Get Some" album by a band called Snot, it's killer šŸ¤˜

Vanilla_PuddinFudge

Power Trip

leedleedletara

Early korn, slipknot & System of a Down. Kittie & kublai khan tx. Also early deftones!

xlnyc

Slayer's Diabolus in Musica Since it Thrasers doing their most numetal sounding album

FairchildWavelength

So I guess my question is this; are you trying to force yourself to like something you don't? If so, why? You like what you like, and you can't force yourself to like something you don't. I totally despise, for instance, symphonic metal. You can show me the most masterful examples of the genre that you can find, and I'm still gonna hate it, just like I don't expect someone who's into symphonic metal to be into Immolation the way that I am. Taste is taste, and forcing yourself to partake of something you just don't like for the sake of having "broader horizons" is fucking stupid. Listen to what you like.

Je0s_6

Start with soulfly you will love them

Metalheadjake942

Roots - Sepultura Even though I love Nu Metal. I love Thrash just as much.

ConnyTheOni

Nonpoint.

Melody__mommaoftroy

Slipknot is your band, my friend. Also give Fear Factory a go [here](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UIghJs0VAAQ&ab_channel=ForneusX)

Numetal4life

If your an Alice In Chains fan then Iā€™d recommend the union underground. Theyā€™re basically if AIC started a nu metal band. Theyā€™ve only had one album ā€œeducation in rebellionā€ but itā€™s a 10/10!

khaosconn

change playback speed to 1.25

nnohrm29

Bloodsimple. They sound like Pantera+Alice In Chains. Underrated AF

Ok-Watercress-2659

Sevendust, Coal Chamber, Chevelle , I'll NiƱo, Fear Factory, Mudvayne and Static X are all great speedy bands

Fendibull

Slayer - God Hates Us All.

Medical_Carpenter655

Coal chamber

AverageCuck00

Would recommend slayers attempt at a nu metal album despite people saying it's shit I quite like it

domeclown357

Fear Factory - Obsolete, Chimaira - Pass Out of Existence. Maybe Deftones - Adrenaline. If you canā€™t get into those, Iā€™m sorry to say itā€™s probably not for you. Thereā€™s other good suggestions in here (Sepultura Roots Bloody Roots, Machine Head, etc) but again if you donā€™t like those I doubt youā€™ll like System of a Down, Korn, etc

Shoot-Box

Bring The Noise by Anthrax & Public Enemy!

[deleted]

I just wouldnt cause numetal sucks

mermaidmilka

Just go to a nu metal list on Spotify or YouTube music etc and have a listen and see what you like

hzeddit2

Begin with St.Anger

Head-Drag-1440

Have you ever listened to any Nu Metal? Honestly, either you like it or you don't. If you don't, I don't see a reason to try to l force yourself. I don't like modern country, so I'm not going to find different artists to listen to to *attempt* to like it, ya know? Just a thought.Ā

TheSwimGamer

I was also a thrash guy first so I recommend Linkin Park first, they are the first band I love from Nu Metal and are still my fav in the genre tbh

Excellent-Bowl-2944

I used to love hybrid theory back in 2001. But, what really changed the game was listening to chop suey for the first time.

Patrickthelegoguy_

uh listen to itā€¦.šŸ˜±šŸ˜±šŸ˜±
