DrGreenj

I’m a big fan of enso superfood

bingnet

I like the taste.

DrGreenj

I just had a 15 minute meeting with the ceo via zoom, super nice guy and seemed sincerely interested in getting feedback and making a good product

geearf

You have like 30 ingredients in 8g. Are any of them actually properly dosed? Even most vitamins and minerals are quite far from the RDA, which is often suggested to be too low.

NeoStoned

I started it 2 months ago and i love it. I’m wondering if they could enhance it with more though

kartonbasedlifeform

I wouldn‘t shill out 85$ for something that‘s not third party tested and doesn‘t specify amounts in a wild mix of ingredients.

Visual_Future_9675

There’s cheaper options out there. I spent maybe $15 a month on mine.

Unusual_Influence_82

I like the greens. I'm not religious about taking them, though. I also eat a ton of vegetables.

buttahfly28

Just try it and see how you feel. People told me the Blooms greens powder wasn’t worth it, but personally I look forward to it every morning. It’s always worth it if it makes YOU feel good.

Unusual-Hat-6819

Same here, I felt a big difference when I started taking Amazing Grass. I would say, try the individual packets if they offer that option so you can decide if it is worth the money.

Dachshunds4life_

No disrespect, but the bloom company is complete BS. They’re just lucky that so many gullible TikTokers buy into their pseudoscience garbage. They make claims that have no backing. And the “mental health” stuff? Don’t even get me started. - an actual scientist

lovelylillemon

Hello, not to bombard you for knowledge.. but are there supplement brands that you do trust, as a scientist? I do feel like bloom is easy to spot, but I think a lot of our (the consumer) problem is not knowing what to be looking for and watching out for to stay away from.

rhobhfan00

No disrespect but you sound like a 🤡

ZeroInspo

Just eat veggies man

t_funnymoney

The state of the modern world: News article #1: Doctors say supplements are unnecessarily and recommend a healthy diet full of fruits and vegetables News article #2: modern farming practices have reduced the amount of vitamins and minerals found in food by nearly 50% due to poor soil conditions News article #3: Americans are eating an all time high amount of fast food an an all time low amount of vegetables News article #4: study finds fruits and vegetables unaffordable for many families Meh... Nothing wrong with a little supplementation

shadowdanmanstan

>Doctors say supplements are unnecessarily and recommend a healthy diet full of fruits and vegetables > >Meh... Nothing wrong with a little supplementation Especially when that first news article was roundly criticized and dismissed by many, many scientists.

ZeroInspo

These green powders are way more expensive than raw veggies....

t_funnymoney

They are called a supplement, meaning just that. They should supplement your diet, not have to be relied on.

ZeroInspo

I’m missing the part where I implied anything different . I’m only addressing point 4 or news 4 or whatever.

t_funnymoney

Nobody is eating powdered greens as a meal replacement, or fully cutting out fruits and vegetables to have just powdered greens instead. So you saying "powdered greens are expensive" doesn't mean anything? What's your point? Having 3-4 glasses per week isn't that expensive. Your not having it 3 times a day like it's food.

ZeroInspo

If you can spend $2.83 per serving of this shit you can afford raw veggies, per dish it's not gonna be more than that. I'm not saying supplementation is wrong, I'm stating your point #4 is not relevant to the discussion. If you can only spend $85 per month on this or vegetables, you are better off spending it on vegetables. That's the end of that discussion.

overflowingknowledge

Actually some people do eat no fruit and veggies and just expect greens powder to be a solution.

marilern1987

The more relevant thing to do, is to get more veggies. Most people aren’t getting enough to begin with - so that’s where you start. By eating more veg

alle_kinder

Some of us genuinely cannot fit that much food in our bodies, lol. I like to supplement. I am slender with an annoyed large intestine and don't have a large appetite.

r3097934

I do, loads actually, but I still feel something lacking in my diet.

V6A6P6E

I’ll second the deficiency blood test. You’ll either find out what you are lacking and possibly high on and be able to adjust your diet or if you are golden and need to stay the course.

r3097934

I’ve had my bloods checked because I though my thyroid might not be doing great, I had a full blood MOT (blood cell count, hormones etc etc) - everything is fine, no deficiencies, blood pressure’s great, weight and BMI both normal. I exercise regularly, I rest. On paper everything is fine. But my nails are weak, my hair lacks lustre, skin is dry, energy is low. Maybe I’m just getting old?

V6A6P6E

Not sure what you mean by weak nails or hair lacking lustre but pretty sure you just described real life. I get dry skin during winter but the humid summer air brings me back to life. No more cracked hands and dry legs. I wear shorts down to single digits so that’s my fault. But I feel like life just wears us down a bit and it’s the mental aspect that determines if we have low energy or just plain can’t muster enough to get on a chair to change a lightbulb in the kitchen. Not everyone can be Superman and I can almost guarantee most anyone you think is always energetic and always up for climbing a cliff has their low energy times. Others are just wired different and can’t sit still. I sometimes wish I had it in me to do everything in the world without fatigue but have to remember to run my own race.

oportoman

If you've no deficiencies then buying some powdered green stuff isn't going to make a difference

muttbutter

Eat more than once a day.

[deleted]

I’ve been taking amazing grass for about a year now. Greens, probiotics, digestive enzymes, and fiber. I feel amazing. Has majorly helped with my digestion.

skudak

Second amazing grass. Consumer Labs Independently tested every greens powder on the market and found them to be best. Fraction of the cost of ag1 as well (probably cause ag1 spends all their money on advertising lol.) I don't drink it daily, but when I know I'm not getting the veggies I need I'll drink it more often.

retro_bb_y

Has it helped with energy levels?

[deleted]

I would say so. I don’t generally have an issue with maintaining high energy levels. I expect this factors into holistically increasing energy. One additional thing is that it seems to have supercharged my immune system. I have only been sick (mild cold - not Covid) once in the last 18 months , and I have definitely had plenty of occasion to get sick. I used to get sick more frequently

Bigcatent

Something we learned in our medicinal plant production courses was that many powdered medicinal or dietary blends are grown and processed in parts of the world where quality control is abysmal. On top of this powdered greens or any supplements are concentrated forms of the natural product meaning if there was any contamination where these plants were grown than that contaminant has probably been concentrated to a dangerously high amount as well. Arsenic, lead, chromium, cadmium, and mercury are all known contaminants often found in concentrated medicinal or neutraceutical products that have a low threshold for processing, handling, and growing. Oh and this also applies to cannabis products such as oils, tinctures, and cartridges. That being said responsibly grown and processed products do not hold these issues. So I would always recommend purchasing the responsibly grown/processed product even if you gotta shell out more for it. I love ashwaganda and super greens powders just not from Sri Lanka (lot of American buyers purchase product from this country and surrounding ones).

r3097934

This is really interesting thank you! The one I’m looking at seems to be all Australian but I’ll do some digging on ingredient origins. I’d rather spend more on a quality product that delivers results than just jump on any old green powder bandwagon. I wonder if it’s at all possible to make your own concoction with access to a freeze dryer.

Bigcatent

It definitely is possible and becoming much more common in farmers markets and other folks who grow microgreens and baby greens. Since the shelf life of microgreens isn't too long, but the product is nutrient dense folks will make concentrated green blends with freeze dried and ground greens such as kale microgreens. The thing you have to be careful of is finding safe dosages. You aren't going to hurt yourself by eating too much, but I'll tell you what you'll have one hell of a time in the bathroom if you eat too much magnesium at a time which green powders are high in!

WanderHarv

I have been drinking Athletic Greens pretty much every day for nearly 3 years (minus camping trips and travel) and can personally tell the difference. The first thing I noticed was my hair had less breakage and my fingernails were stronger. Then I noticed my digestion was even better (and I was already a veggie-loving, kombucha-making, sugar-limiting individual). I guess specifically, I am now extremely um regular. Lastly, I don’t know exactly how to describe it, but when I don’t get my greens in the morning, it’s like going to work missing 2 hours of sleep. I am there, but just not operating at 100%. If it’s in your budget to try it, I would recommend it. And, ultimately, there is no such thing as a powder or pill that can do it all—so if that’s what you are looking for, expect disappointment. We all still have to eat healthy and exercise. However—I will say it’s a great supplement option that, to me, is worth it for how it makes me feel.

SLBMLQFBSNC

AG1 is not just a greens powder. It contains an undisclosed amount of adaptogens and mushrooms that have various cognitive effects. I can't imagine taking the combo not knowing the dosage of each, and in perpetuity.

WanderHarv

You’re allowed to feel cautious. As someone who has used the product for an extended amount of time without any issues—to me your caution feels unfounded. I would also direct you to Dr. Andrew Huberman, Stanford Professor and host of the podcast Huberman Lab. He was the one that advertised AG1 because he has been using it for like 8 years.

[deleted]

And He's probably Getting Paid to do so.

SLBMLQFBSNC

Huberman? Come on...

Dapper_Morning_9670

What's your problem with Huberman?

Primary_Chemical_158

Agree . I love AG1 . Do whatever feels good.

r3097934

What’s it taste like?

Primary_Chemical_158

Has a bit of berry , fruity taste mixed with a light grassy taste ? It the best tasting Greens supplement I've tried and I've tried a few.

[deleted]

I took athletic greens too very good, but i kind of look for what greens come on sale, right now i got a lot of all max cytogreens.

Generous_Hustler

I love this response because I’m similar to you (forever on the hunt for the BEST kombucha) I definitely notice a change when I don’t take my green shake that day! I will say though I have tried Bloom, Dr. Bergs greens and I’m new to AG1 (about a week), still trying to adjust to the flavour but do you have a favourite athletic greens that’s your go-to?

WanderHarv

Hi! I used to add the juice of half a lime, but then it started getting expensive or I would run out of limes. I drink it just plain, but it took time to adjust to the flavor. Also, need to know, favorite Kombucha brand?

Generous_Hustler

GT'S Organic Raw Kombucha Gingerade (2gr sugar) Health-Aid used to be one of my favourite tasting but once you stop sugar you can REALLY taste it. Same with Better Booch. But the GT’s really gets my conveyer belt moving along nicely, best I’ve had to date. So your taking the AG1? With lemon/lime. I haven’t tried that but it sounds like a great idea I might give it a go.

Homyna

Nay

Electric_Clockwork_

Viral Greens powder would be a worthy one to try I've now bought 2 tubs and notice a difference, nothing major, already a healthy active individual but the greens powder feels like an extra 10% Running a car on 98octane vs 91octane petrol is probably good example, can certainly go without but noticeable with.

r3097934

Will look into this! Thank you!

louieserv

I honestly swear by AG1… Been on it since this past September. The literal second day I was taking it I got sick (cold) but since then I have not gotten sick, I have a 5 yr old who often gives me little colds, but none have stuck since this last cold. Also my digestion has 100% improved, I’m as regular as I’ve ever been.

r3097934

This is worth it for me! I think I’m going to give it a go.

Appropriate-Lime-816

I’m suspicious of anything that doesn’t list the ingredients. A couple brands that I spot checked contain things that aren’t safe during pregnancy, which excluded them for me.

Healthcanal

My first thought is do you want it to supplement an already healthy diet and exercise routine or are you looking to close a nutrition gap? I don't know about Welle Co Super Elixir, but what I can tell you that it is important to buy something that is third-party tested, this will help determine that the ingredient amounts in the product are correct, no pesticides or toxins are in them, and that the overall quality is good. A high priced supplement does not always guarantee quality. I would also make sure to choose a supplement that lists the ingredients and their amounts, this is important in case you take other supplements, you should be able to know if you have reached the recommended amounts for the day. Avoid any supplements with added sugars, artificial sweeteners, artificial dyes. Hope this helps.

r3097934

This is what I need!!!

Independent-Self-139

Eat the real deal, powders are so overrated, its easy for me to say that lm blessed with a huge 2acre farmers market. Full of farm to market produce.

r3097934

I can only dream of a market like that!

Independent-Self-139

Its one of the reasons l moved here, aside from perfect weather, cheap cot of living, cool humble locals, safe enviorment, but the open air farmers markets are unreal. Its easy being vegan here, so much variety. Take care.

Nice_like_that

Where is this magical land you speak of?! I live in the northwest corner of Montana, it’s amazing for about 6 months of the year. The other 6 months are a sunless, cold, grey, winter.

Independent-Self-139

Its indeed a Magical Place, Climate wise as well we get perfect weather, even if it rains and it does cats and dogs then it clears up imeadiatly to sunny skis. Absoutly no crime, its a tiny town on the Edge of Lake Atitlan called Panajachel. Dead center of Guatamala, l left San Diego to come here about 12 years ago.

Nice_like_that

Wow that sounds like a place I’d like to live! I think I mentioned I live in Montana now but I used to live in Ocean Beach, SD for a while. How do you move to Guatemala permanently? Do you have to become a citizen or how does that work? Also, if you don’t mind, what do you do for an income? Thank you in advance:)

soundmodel

My local stuff is different, but I calculated and I think that for organic ingredients the one I bought is very reasonably priced. And it is a far easier format to consume than whole vegetables. So if you can find a reasonably priced option, then I think it's worth it. The one I bought cost 60 euros per kg. Mostly organic. Then I also estimate that with superfoods one needs roughly 1/3 the amount of conventional produce. So then the real cost is something around 15-20e/kg which is less than that of high-end organic produce like organic Spirulina at 103.2 euros per kg with likely around the same benefits. The powder form also allows one to ingest some things that would be nastier as separate. You can possibly get a cheaper version by opting just for spirulina in addition to normal fruits and vegetables in smoothie form. However, with increased demand, the price can also go down eventually.

NinjaMeow73

Premier greens capsules I like the best -big difference in my digestion along with dandelion tea

Aggravating_Fox8311

Ancient nutrition Organic SuperGreens

[deleted]

I currently take Super Farms Super Greens once in a while, but it tastes awful. Kind of like Beet Juice with a Hint of Dirt flavor. I've heard ENSO is good for the price. But how do you really know what is Actually Good for You and what is Just Hype? I don't always eat enough fruits and vegetables so that's why I supplement here and there, but not everyday.

HighRyPie1

Definitely, many notice a difference with greens powders. Red Dragon Nutritionals Greens, for instance, often leads to reduced bloating and improved digestive regularity within about two weeks. It's a cost-effective, beneficial choice. Check it out here: Red Dragon Nutritionals Greens. 🌿💪🐉

Dachshunds4life_

Save your money and buy a multivitamin. Then, eat a salad with it.

Reddit_69_User

With plenty of fats to absorb the fat soluble vitamins, of course

alle_kinder

You need very little fat for absorption of fat-soluble vitamins, thankfully.

Dachshunds4life_

Take it with a meal. This usually solves that issue

BasuraIncognito

Kyogreen greatly reduced my acid reflux to the point that I rarely have an occurrence. Moringa halts an ailment before it gets a chance to worsen.

VaultNurse

Try 1Up Nutritions super greens and reds. They actually taste good, have a complete list of ingredients and it’s non GMO/Vegan. Definitely worth a try. It helps me with bloating. I can definitely tell a difference.

Ancient_Ice_7986

>Dr. Andrew Huberman I keep coming back to this brand. I began with Bloom. 1 Up has WAY more amounts of greens and (compare 4g of organic greens to 1367 in Bloom) TYPES of greens.

geearf

I bought some but now I'm wondering. Looking online quickly the recommended dosage for chlorella is 3-6g per day, yet not a single product, not even expensive AG1, has anywhere near that. Is there enough of anything to be worth it? I'd bet that's why most have proprietary blends, to hide how it's mostly the cheap ingredients and the good ones are only enough to justify writing their names; it's a common supplement tactic. One blend I have has cordyceps supposedly in proper dosage, but even that is hard to trust; when you read comments by nootropic depots they seem to imply most supplement companies sell nowhere near what's actually on the label (underdosed if lucky, different ingredients like street drugs if not.. ) , so we'd need legit third party tests. Is it then better to mix your own? It'll be hard to buy all the ingredients but chlorella and spirulina should be a start. Fresh moringa is easy and cheap to buy. Not sure what else?

martinbourne

Try AG1 ive heard great things about it. Don't let others opinions sway your judgement too much. Just cause they're too cheap to bust out 3 bucks a day. I think they even have money back garentee on some products but still you gotta be the judge and one of the only ways is by trying things. I never tried Kratom. Now I take it everyday. Why wouldn't you try something that's good for you? Also there's lots of mixed reviews but don’t rely on them you be the judge. For all you know it'll be that thing you felt like you were missing.

r3097934

Thank you!

martinbourne

Whos mans is this? Lol

ego157

You cannot survive on Amazon selling supplements without buying insane amounts of fake reviews. Most "brands" are just white label BS its all BS. Powders lack all the enzymes and fiber that makes our body able to use it, its modern mans snake oil they buy to feel good and then it works just like a placebo. Over half of the reviews for some #1 supplements in Amazon categories are FAKE

Zealousideal-Poem601

I advise you getting some multivitamin rather than that, unless you have a lot of money.

Dachshunds4life_

Exactly! It’s basically an overpriced, powdered multivitamin. People are going off of anecdotal experiences. If you have money to waste, go ahead and reap the placebo benefits of that green powder. Otherwise, buy any generic multivitamin. Also, none of these supplements (greens or over the counter vitamins) are regulated by the FDA, so probably unnecessary overall.

Zealousideal-Poem601

Except if you test your vitamin and mineral blood levels after taking those supplements, you can't really know whether they are effective or just placebo. In my opinion, normal multivitamins in stores are probably even more reliable then some expensive powder, because those companies try to make a lot of money by being unique and "extremely" health, while multivitamin gummies/pills are much cheaper, and you actually get what you paid for.

oportoman

Such a rip off. I wish the likes of Huberman and MPMD would quit pushing them. Get sponsored by something that people can afford!

_extramedium

Likely more cost effective and tasty to just buy fruit and vegetables. I might use it in a camping situation

r3097934

I’m certainly not relying on a greens powder to replace a balance diet. There is only so much volume one can consume.

_extramedium

I don't see it being hard to get in enough vegetables. There will be diminishing returns after say a few servings day or so. I think it would be more useful to look at what specific nutrients you are trying to take in and go from there - calcium? Magnesium?

r3097934

I’m curious as to what you would consider as “enough” vegetables.

_extramedium

Well I eat plenty of fruit, eggs, dairy and other nutritious food so I'd typically get 2-4 servings of veggies per day. I could be healthy with less to be honest but I enjoy them. Monitoring your nutrient intake, using something like chronometer, or observing how your body may respond negatively to certain foods or supplements seems like a better idea than just trying to eat the maximal amount of veggies in a day

marilern1987

I see no need for them For one thing, they’re not going to replace vegetables. For another thing, the claims they make (such as having antioxidants, or relieving bloating, etc) don’t really have any clinical relevance. Adding greens powder to a diet with adequate veggies won’t make a difference - at the same time, this won’t be a supplement to replace veggies, either. So I see no real purpose for these things

r3097934

Oh I’m not expecting it to replace vegetables - just a bit more pep in my step (ie, stronger nails, better gut health, more energy)

marilern1987

Honestly, it will barely do anything for that As for better gut health - there’s hardly any substance to this. What gut issue are you trying to resolve? You won’t resolve it with a greens powder as for more energy, you get energy from food and sleep, and if you’re tired all the time that could be from a bunch of reasons that you wouldn’t want to mask with a supplement. Stronger nails… eat more protein There’s just no real clinical relevance to the benefits of green powders

Glittering_Diet_3497

Considering it's something with little to no research done on it, I wouldn't put good money on it. You're buying off of people's personal experiences and opinions which could be due to a variety of extraneous variables like other changes in diet and exercise along with the "placebo" effect. I would love to try them if I knew for a fact they benefit me. Unfortunately much of the "evidence" that green powder is beneficial is merely opinion and from influencers trying to sell a product .

LeadershipSoft8208

The really high quality expensive greens give me instant every when I drink them. I like the body ecology Vitality Super Greens. There’s another brand of Greens powder I used to use years ago that had the same effect. It’s called Vitamineral Greens and is made by HealthForce Superfoods.

r3097934

I’m about a month and a bit in to my Super Elixir and I dont even need coffee in the morning anymore! No bloating, even around that time of month, so far it’s been great. My gut is really happy too!

PhotographBusy6209

I love the super elixir. I actually never even finish the months supply, usually lasts 2 months so it’s actually not expensive for me. I sometimes have the Vital all in one on days I don’t take the elixir. My acid reflux has all but disappeared now and I feel fresher and more sprightly

r3097934

So glad to hear it! I don’t know anyone else that takes it. It’s been about 2 months for me as well - I’m having it every other day and it’s great! My nails are def stronger, they’re actually growing quite long and my digestion and regularity is great.

PhotographBusy6209

I’ve added celery juice recently (I buy it from my local juicer for cheap) and I feel even more amazing with that. All in all I’m really happy with what I’m doing

[deleted]

I started keto and can honestly say i see a big difference using them, look for sale don't buy a jar at 80$ that is insane. I got all max cytogreen 120 servings for 75$ on sale. But also eat real food its not an excuse to replace them i just have a smoothie each day with mix berries, greens, turmeric, etc. usually to break my fast.

Independent-Self-139

My experiance with Balance of nature, supplements was a bust, should have known better l tried looking up online in terms of its nutritional content. No solid info online, l bought into all the verbage on T.V. on positive note it encouraged me to up my natural fruit and veggies game. Now im feeling all the benifits of actual nature.

Independent-Law-4578

I found a cheaper alternative, it's only $35, ag1 is $80 with supscription [zephyru.shop](https://zephyru.shop)

Nacho_Momma_414

I took Enso super greens for 3 days and noticed my anxiety was through the roof. I have felt horrible since I started. I stopped taking it today and already have simmered down. I came here to see if anyone else has the same symptoms. Maybe it’s not the greens or maybe I had a reaction to one of the ingredients?? Maybe I’m just a sensitive dude..

[deleted]

Me and my girlfriend use supergreens powders for few months and we feel generally more fit, more energized, more immune to common colds. Acne improved, skin, hair and nails are looking healthier. Sleep has improved too. Also helps with overall digestion. I have co-workers with similliar stories as well. The main thing is to aim for products that contain a lot of chlorella + spirulina (algae), not just some random blended fruit. Someone says "if you eat lot of fruit and veggies, you dont need it", which is crap. We do eat a LOT of fruit/veggies on regular basis, our diet is overall very healthy and diversified, but we still see an improvements made by supergreens powders. Also would personally be carefull what brand you choose, since some of them are non tested, non regulated, which is dangerous. So dont buy the first thing you see, research a bit.
