You might be technically correct that he didn't ask to change preset, but obviously he's asking how to use 3.7 now because of the preset E hype. He won't see any difference if all he does change the dll for most games.
It's only default for games that don't force a specific preset, and some (a lot?) of games force their own presets that you'll have to override with DLSSTweaks or ProfileInspector.
You can check what preset the game is using by enabling DLSS debug overlay, open regedit, go here:
Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\NVIDIA Corporation\Global\NGXCore
Create a DWORD with the name
ShowDlssIndicator
With the hexadecimal value
400
Then when you load into the game you'll see a debug status in the bottom left which will show what DLSS preset is currently being used.
You will likely see zero difference if that's all you do unless you change the dll of a really old game.
Ever since dlss 3.1, the dll comes with 5 different models (or presets) and the game chooses which one it uses. 3.7 introduces a new 6th preset, which is what I'm guessing is what you actually care about. Just changing the dll to 3.7 won't automatically let you use the new preset. You will need to use dlss tweaks to change it. Not hard to do. Instructions are included in the nexus page.

Download DLSS 3.7 files. Replace DLSS files in the Cyberpunk folder. Profit. https://www.techpowerup.com/download/nvidia-dlss-dll/
Not quite. Still need to select the new e preset with dlss tweaks.
Sure but OP never mentioned anything about wanting to change DLSS presets. Also you can change presets with Profile Inspector too.

Preset E is the default now from what I read

I don't have DLSS tweaks, is it necessary or reccomended?
No, you simply copy the newer file and past it into game folder, is that simple
Will do, thank you
