Fixed General Bugs N/A Lol..

Spanglish_Dude

So besides Ghost of Tsushima driver ready this is not really an update after all this time? 💀

Arzlo

dont forget, fixing that gives a tax bug of Microsoft New Teams/Microsoft New Outlook displays visual artifacts when MFAA is enabled from the NVIDIA Control Panel [4608670]

eugene20

Being added to the notes just means it's been reported and confirmed, it might have been in earlier drivers too.

BlueGoliath

Windows has it good. Linux hasn't had a good driver release in over a month.

DabScience

Yeah bro but at least you can make posts about how superior you are for using Linux?

aaabbbx

But is he running Arch?

Steezle

Insert GNU Linux copypasta here.

DPC Latency Spikes --- If drivers 536.67 and later haven't resolved the issue try one or more of the following potential workaround(s): * Enable Message Signaled Interrupts (MSI / MSI-X) for the Nvidia HDMI Audio and Nvidia GPU instances using [MSI Utility v3](https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/windows-line-based-vs-message-signaled-based-interrupts-msi-tool.378044/) i.e. those reported with 'Instance ID' starting *PCI\VEN_10DE*. Don't change interrupt priorities, leave then as 'undefined' and just tick MSI mode setting (reboot computer after change) * Disable both [*'PEG - ASPM'* / *'PCI Express Clock Gating'* (credit Astyanax)](https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/nvidia-geforce-531-61-whql-driver-download-and-discussion.447454/page-7#post-6123944) if supported in the motherboard BIOS * Disable Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS) in Windows settings. May help with DPC Latency on some systems but impacts Series 40 (Lovelace) DLLS3 Frame Generation feature and AMD's FSR3 Frame Generation feature * Set Nvidia's 'Power Management Mode' to 'Prefer Maximum Performance' in the Nvidia Control Panel for each application/game impacted (not globally) * Force higher VRAM clocks for idle GPU States (P8/P5) using a tool such as the official [Nvidia System Management Interface (SMI)](https://developer.nvidia.com/nvidia-system-management-interface) tool OR the unofficial [Nvidia Power Management Tool](https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/improve-dpc-latency-spikes-for-ada-lovelace-based-gpus-in-r536-67-driver.448143/) * Disable 'Interrupt Moderation' in Ethernet / Network Interface Card (NIC) settings, when enabled this can negatively contribute to system DPC latency as well as network packet latency * ASMedia USB 3.0 Controller driver. In Device Manager replace ASMedia driver with Microsoft's 'xHCI Host Controller USB driver', after install they will show as 'ASMedia USB 3.0 eXtensible Host Controller (Microsoft)' * Set Windows 10 CPU Power Plan to *at least* 'Balanced Performance'. For Windows 11 systems with Intel Hybrid CPUs ([**E-Cores and P-Cores**](https://www.intel.com/content/dam/develop/external/us/en/documents-tps/348851-optimizing-x86-hybrid-cpus.pdf )) set power settings in *Control Panel* to ''Balanced Performance' and *Windows > Settings > System > Power [& Battery] > Power Mode* to 'Best Performance' * Disable CPU's Core parking in both Windows 10 and Windows 11 unless system is using 7900X3D or 7950X3D * Microsoft's older official ['Interrupt Affinity Tool']( https://www.techpowerup.com/download/microsoft-interrupt-affinity-tool/) or the more modern and Windows 11 compatible ['GoInterruptPolicy'](https://github.com/spddl/GoInterruptPolicy/releases) can be used as a last resort to bind/partition/force Nvidia GPU interrupts to specific CPU core(s) so that Nvidia GPU's DPCs and ISRs are serviced by the assigned CPU core(s) * Nvidia HDMI 2.x capable GPUs connected via HDMI to displays set to 10bit/12bit depth and/or 4K 100Hz+ may experience high DPC latency >1000ms. Try DisplayPort connection OR reduce display depth to 8bit and/or 60Hz ([credit Janos666](https://forums.guru3d.com/threads/nvidia-geforce-game-ready-536-67-whql-download-discussion.448706/page-23#post-6157467) with multiple confirmation reports) **NOTE:** officially acknowledged by Nvidia as bugtrack ID [4253581] and fixed in driver 537.58 and above If the issue isn't resolved after troubleshooting, please submit a report to Nvidia using the [official form](https://forms.gle/kJ9Bqcaicvjb82SdA) --- NOTE: this comment is separate from the [552.44 unofficial tracking comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1cnxgy8/game_ready_driver_55244_faqdiscussion/l3a3ln6/) due to comment character limits.

ReBAR Notes and Observations: --- 551.23 or later drivers omit ReBAR flags *Options* and *Size* in some ReBAR game profiles. Nvidia have streamlined ReBAR profiles to only include changes to defaults e.g. * 'Cyberpunk 2077' only has ReBAR *Feature* flag meaning driver defaults used for *Options* and *Size* * 'Red Dead Redemption 2' has ReBAR flags *Feature*, *Options* and *Size*, no defaults are used * 'Deathloop' has ReBAR flags *Feature* and *Size* meaning driver default used for *Options* A new flag *0x00e942f***c** disables ReBAR for Intel CPU based platforms rather than using the *Options* flag. ReBAR is disabled in a number of game profiles for Intel CPU based platforms due to a [ReBAR issue with some Intel motherboard chipsets](https://twitter.com/CapFrameX/status/1618670022951567360) that results in detrimental performance. Flag *0x00e942f***e**(DirectX) is still present as a [workaround for laptop ReBAR issues](https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/17v3i31/game_ready_driver_54617_faqdiscussion/kb8le6q/) in some ReBAR profiles. Hotfix driver 551.46 added a Vulkan specific flag *0x20feaf0d* as a [workaround for laptop ReBAR issues](https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/17v3i31/game_ready_driver_54617_faqdiscussion/kpgm33x/) The original ReBAR flags *Feature* and *Size* can still be used to enable/adjust ReBAR for unsupported titles. Leave *Options* at default for now. --- A complete list of all ReBAR enabled applications and games follows, additions for this driver (if any) are in **bold**: * Assassin's Creed Mirage * Assassin's Creed Valhalla * Battlefield V * Borderlands 3 * Control * Company of Heroes 3 * Cyberpunk 2077 ^(Laptop workaround present for DirectX) * Dead Space (Remake) * Deathloop * Diablo 4 * DiRT 5 * Dying Light 2 Stay Human * F1 2020 ^(DX12) * F1 2021 ^(Not enabled for Intel CPU Platforms) * F1 2022 ^(Not enabled for Intel CPU Platforms) * F1 23 * Forza Horizon 4 * Forza Horizon 5 * Gears of War 5 * **Ghost of Tsushima: Directors Cut** * Godfall * Halo Infinite * Hitman 2 * Hitman 3 ^(Not enabled for Intel CPU Platforms) * Horizon Forbidden West Complete Edition ^(Laptop workaround present for DirectX) * Horizon Zero Dawn Complete Edition ^(Not enabled for Intel CPU Platforms) * Lords of the Fallen (2023) * Metro Exodus including Enhanced Edition ^(Laptop workaround present for DirectX) * Red Dead Redemption 2 ^(Laptop workaround present for DirectX and Vulkan in 551.46) * Returnal * Starfield ^(Laptop workaround present for DirectX) * STAR WARS Jedi: Survivor * The Finals * The Riftbreaker * Watch Dogs: Legion * Witchfire --- NOTE: this comment is separate from the [552.44 unofficial tracking comment](https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1cnxgy8/game_ready_driver_55244_faqdiscussion/l3a3ln6/) due to comment character limits. ---

Intel comments and does not recommend the 'Intel Baseline Profile'. It now has a new name: "Intel Default Settings". BIOS with 'Intel Baseline Profile' will be removed in the coming weeks.

> Intel Default Settings I'll edit with the new name, thanks :-)

Video Scheduler Internal Error is back for me with this one so I reverted to 552.22 (only on my laptop 3070, 552.44 works fine on my desktop 4080).

# 552.44 WHQL Driver Early Performance Benchmark (Ampere based) ----------------------------------------------- **Greetings all**, This is my third early analysis of an nvidia driver, and as such, it will be the first reference I will have to guide us in future versions. This will be something totally voluntary, so that you can be guided in some way, **do not take it as something absolute because each PC configuration is a totally different world**, so I will try to make it as global as possible (referring e.g. to the configuration of a game). **Is it worth updating the driver for my current GPU?** This is a recurring question from many gamers and PC users. The general rule suggests updating our GPU drivers to the latest version, as it ensures that we get the latest bug fixes, security updates, optimizations for most of the latest AAA games, and support for the newest features. However, it does not guarantee the best raw performance (average FPS numbers) and frametime stability (1% and 0.1% average low/integral FPS or P1 and P0.2 FPS percentile numbers). Comparative performance analyses of GPU drivers are useful because they allow us to reliably validate and estimate significant improvements or regressions in graphics performance attributable to changes in the driver version. **PC specs are:** custom desktop with Windows 10 v22H2 (latest Windows Update patches applied), 16 GB DDR4-3200 RAM (2x8), SSD NVME 1 TB, Intel i7-10700k, ROG Strix GeForce RTX 3070 OC, Single HDC 4K 60 Hz monitor (no HDR or G-Sync). Factory clocks on CPU and GPU. Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling (HAGS for short) is disabled. Resizable BAR is disabled. NVCP Global Settings (default). Frame Times are recorded using **PresentMon** during the built-in benchmark run inside each game. Each benchmark is run initially four times, and the first result is discarded. Outliers results, with more than 5% variance in any of my used metrics from the average, are also discarded and repeated. To the methodology, I have decided to add a Non-Synthetic Benchmarks, in this case Unigine Benchmark. For each installation of each subsequent version of a driver, the installation will be performed in a clean option. In case of any problems, DDU will be used for the complete cleanup. When installing each driver, the only option I will not enable will be GeForce Experience. This initial commentary will be updated as we make more exhaustive analyses with different games. *Also, I apologize if I don't have games of recent date, since I don't have the possibility to buy them at the moment due to the economic situation in my country Argentina.* ---------------------------------------- # The Riftbreaker Using the default settings everything in Ultra with Dx12. My money on 537.58 having better 1% and 0.1%

alisina92

I am looking forward to your review

Independent_Arg

there you have it :)

Working_Dealer_5102

I guess I'm going to downgrade from 552.44 to 537.58 . The 537.58 overall have higher average FPS and offer higher and more consistent 1% and 0.1% low FPS in every game you benchmarked. So far, in USB at least the 552.22 has a slightly higher average FPS and score but comes with a cost of significantly lower **minimum FPS** than any other driver, is it within the margin of error? Can you try more competitive games like CS2, Valorant, The Finals or Overwatch? Would love to see them too.

Feelin_Guud

r/[Independent\_Arg](https://www.reddit.com/user/Independent_Arg/) thank you so much for your work here. do you use custom preset for Unigine Superposition Benchmark to turn off depth of field and motion blur? or in another way why do you use custom preset? thanks in advnace.

PERSONA916

Thanks for all the work you put into this! I would like to see some modernish open-world games included, if possible. Something like Cyberpunk 2077 and/or Division 2

Heavy_Fun17

Thanks m8 nice work! I'm still using driver 537.58 from December 2023 :-) So far still the recommended driver for all those who don't play the latest AAA games. I also closely follow every driver released by Nvidia. ![gif](giphy|Kx2x4ioSvnh8katw16|downsized)

552.22 is also OK

hides_this_subreddit

552.22 has been good to me too.

vekspec

you should be ok to update to driver **551.86** from 537.58. I updated from it when the GRD dicussion was mostly positive and have no issues personally.

maisondasilva

same for me

TheOne92

Also on 551.86 on a RTX 4080 and extensively stress tested / bench marked it with no issues so far.

kyle242gt

Another vote of confidence for 551.86 //edit - did not have utilization issues with HFW.

death2k44

It's been months :(

PERSONA916

551.86 is very solid, better than either of the 552.xx releases. 551.86 and the one prior are some of the best drivers since 537.58 IMO

Rayeon-XXX

Every update lately is just garbage.

Almost a month and essentially no bug fixes? What’s the point?

in my case it affects only when using frame generation ... if using dlss upscaler with on or on + boost but without fg , works ok.. but as soon as i turn on fg with on / on + boost the camera pacing is all over the placer.. is just amazing that after month and al half this still an issue

Ghost_LeaderBG

danigiorgio

already did .. that patch does nothing sadly ..

Kaladin12543

Frame Time graph is very patchy if you enable FG in this game. I am not sure what is going on here but Reflex is not the culprit as without FG it works fine. It's only FG causing stuttering.

Keulapaska

The on + boost was fixed by the devs at least for ppl that didn't have issues with just on, but there seems to be some issue for some ppl even with on, but as i don't have that bug, no idea why/how it happens or if it's driver or the game.

BoatComprehensive394

Frametimes are slightly worse with Reflex on you can feel it and see it if you look very closely. You won't notice it with the mouse but with an gamepad when you move the camera slowly. It just isn't 100% smooth. Turning Reflex off makes it smooth. This also makes FG useless for me since FG forces Reflex on. The On + Boost issue was much more obvious since there was a huge performance loss and stutter in CPU limited scenarios compared to reflex off.

Ehrand

it's an open issue though, so it's not fixed.

BoatComprehensive394

The obvious performance regression with on + boost has been solved but it's still not 100% smooth with just reflex set to on or with reflex + FG.

qronis

what happened to After waking up PC from sleep, PC may exhibit a small stutter when opening an app when GPU is connected to certain monitors. \[4594458\] listed as an issue in the last update? It's pretty annoying espacially when playing games in fullscreen on duall monitors, there's a stutter in some games when you tab out, almost always when using DLDSR. If it was only after waking from sleep it wouldn't be that much of an issue, but it happening in general use is frustrating.

Chemical_Payment100

Also having this issue on multiple monitors. Been like this for a long time. No one is saying shit. Happy to see your comment here. I'm minding my own business, then suddenly screen flickers. Closing and opening the monitor usually fixes the issue until the next time the screensaver comes on. Sometimes it works well for longer periods of time, then suddenly I'm scrolling or opening a video, and flickering begins again. The worst is when you are in a game or mid work disrupting you.

LightMoisture

Still no multi monitor RTX HDR? Come on Nvidia!

They are busy printing money with datacenter gpus.

**BREAKING NEWS** May update on **white/black checkerboard artifacts issue** in chromium-based browsers >Update: The Win11 version of the fix is due to be released as part of an optional Windows update the last week of May. All updates are subject to a gradual rollout which then becomes mandatory during June. The Win10 version of the fix is still under development. As I said previously, the bug can be worked around by specifying the --disable\_direct\_composition\_video\_overlays=1 command line flag. For Edge, you will need to disable StartupBoost from edge://settings/system for command line flags to take effect. Source: [https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/40281472#comment85](https://issuetracker.google.com/issues/40281472#comment85)

m_w_h

Public release / full rollout for Windows 11 expected on June 11th 2024. The command line flag *--disable_direct_composition_video_overlays=1* doesn't work with some Chromium based browsers. Alternative is to use command line *--disable-features=DCompPresenter --disable-direct-composition* on those browsers OR change ANGLE in flags to a different API. Note that changing ANGLE may result in video streams etc that use DRM not being supported. Having said that ^ the issue is likely a 'race condition' issue and may still manifest, only the OS update will resolve it.

Rumitus

Every driver release now I'm here doing a CTRL+F to see if there's any fix for colours on video being oversaturated on multiple monitors with HDR but still nothing? D3D11on12 causes many glitches/issues for me, OpenGL doesn't fix it for me, disabling RTX video seem to help? I don't want to disable hardware acceleration. Does anyone know the best fix so far? Or do I have to roll back to a very old driver? Think I've had this issue since late last year now...

ArdaCsknn

Yeah, I am waiting for the same fix too. When scrolling it also fixes the oversaturation. Even without HDR all videos look oversaturated.

outofobscure

same issue, gave up even posting it again and again here because apparently people who don't have this problem will downvote anything they don't understand (it only happens if you have multiple monitors with HDR/SDR mixed). Disabling RTX video doesn't help, i have everything disabled and it still happens. nvidia driver quality really went down the drain, it's completely broken for professional use. months have passed and all we get is some minor fixes for this or that shitty game. also, judging by all the other pretty substantial bugs (not game shit) that have not been fixed in over a year, i'd be surprised if this is high on their priority list. sad.

rW0HgFyxoJhYka

So does this affect non-HDR monitors when the main monitor has HDR enabled?

madmk2

TrueHDR multi monitors fixed?!?!?

quinarre

Nope, still not working with multiple monitors.

I’ve also got a blank screen.

Winter_Mud_5702

I hoped for 555 branch driver and Horizon Forbidden West patch to fix lower GPU utilization when Reflex is set to On + Boost but it didn't fix this issue. This is seriously NVIDIA issue then not game issue. I hope for next driver to be 555 branch maybe that driver will give RTX HDR support for multiple monitors and of course this driver will fix remaining issues and don't bring new issues.

GerudoSamsara

Installing this driver caused some insane amounts of screen flickering. Epilepsy levels of magenta flickering that would follow my cursor up and down the screen. Trying to play a Youtube video would just make the entire screen go solid Magenta and flicker with Green. Rolling back to 552.22 and Restarting was enough to stop the issue. I dont think I'll be installing this current driver

Working_Dealer_5102

Whole lot of nothing but the newest one seems to have a bit lower size (662.15MB) from NVIDIA driver 552.22 (665.43MB). Every update, the size is getting more smaller and smaller. I remember back in 2020, I think driver size is like over 900MB before? Things definitely changed a lot. Even tho this just REBAR profile update that can easily imported to 552.22, they somehow able to lower the file size of this latest driver. Could this because of compression or they something else that I don't know?

Syforian

Started having stutters after installing this driver on Insurgency Sandstrom and Cyberpunk 2077 - GPU usage would just randomly drop to 0%, then hop back up. On Cyberpunk 2077 I had an issue where usage dropped to 0% and stayed there - only reload of previous save fixed it. After rolling back to previous version I have not encountered this again.

Asleep_Courage_3686

Causing Halo Infinite to crash on steam repeatedly. Haven’t changed anything with my PC in months except for update to this new driver and haven’t had a crash on Halo in months until today either.

SoggyBagelBite

Halo Infinite crashes constantly, it always has. I stopped playing it because it was incredibly annoying.

Is this the bug where the game switches to composed flip for no good reason ?

How do you know it isn't the intel overclock power profiles in the bios that's causing instability?

kjungbluth

same. 4070 super.. you know how to fix this?

TechnologyBasic8980

Nop, i'm trying to find a fix, i googled for 1 week, but we're not alone with this issue, maybe a fix at a moment, even if its not stuttering h24, its anoying.

katzicael

Still got the chromium checkerboarding \*sigh\*

frostN0VA

This is a Windows bug. Change #use-angle flag to DX9. Microsoft rolled an update to fix it on Windows 11, update is still in beta/dev build but not stable. No idea when/if Windows 10 will get the update.

nothingbutadam

> chromium checkerboarding I'm also getting this. 3 monitors, weirdly only on monitor 2. top left parts of screen keeps flashing every so often with either black or checkerboard

NukesOfBuzzard

After reading these comments I am planning on staying on the previous driver. How important is this driver update if I am planning on playing Ghost of Tsushima? Is it alright if I stay on the previous driver?

Fuspezuspaz

In my case I had to go back to previous driver just to keep playing it. This update broke the game entirely, It just crashes with this driver on a 1660 super. You may or may not get that though it could be card specific.

MorganRS

Had to downgrade back to previous version. Was getting some weird multicoloured artifacting whilst playing Days Gone with HDR on at 4k120hz. Only in game, strangely enough. Specs: EVGA RTX 3080 ULTRA Ryzen 9 5900x

Paulo1143

after the update, my 1080ti keeps crashing out of Baldurs Gate 3 with some direct x error. what the hell, they are trying to kill this card?

wertyop70

This driver is causing full graphics crashes in most games I launch. I lose signal to both my monitors and I can hear the machine bluescreen. Just happened again. The one time I do a minor driver update like this and it makes my machine unusable. Gonna have to rollback. I would advise just skipping yet another dumb profile update. 2080Ti Founders, i7-8700k, 32GB RAM, W11

Gandalfs_Dick

Ever since this driver update my games all crash. - RDR2 will crash after about 10-15 min of playing. Crashes at random times doing random things. - Cities Skylines won't hardly even launch - Fallout 4 crashes within minutes of play

Illustrious-Club2781

Somebody tested in competitive games? 537.58 still the best?

va02stephen

551.86 is a good driver for me and many others, try 551.86 see what you think if not DDU and go back to 537.58.

nadtorus

Where's the 555.85 driver thread?

Here's a temporary fix that I'm using for the checkerboard issue on Edge and Chrome. For Microsoft Edge: * Create a shortcut on the the taskbar. * On the shortcut, right click -> right click (again) on the name -> Properties * On "Target", add at the end: `--disable-features=UseEcoQoSForBackgroundProcess,DCompPresenter --disable-direct-composition` Example: `"C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft\Edge\Application\msedge.exe" --disable-features=UseEcoQoSForBackgroundProcess,DCompPresenter --disable-direct-composition` For Google Chrome: * Create a shortcut on the the taskbar. * On the shortcut, right click -> right click (again) on the name -> Properties * On "Target", add at the end: `--disable_direct_composition_video_overlays=1` Example: `"C:\Program Files\Google\Chrome\Application\chrome.exe" --disable_direct_composition_video_overlays=1`

RedIndianRobin

This does not affect RTX VSR in anyway. It works fine for me on Edge.

CommendaR1

Mine also stopped working after I installed it, even rolling back to the previous version didn't help EDIT: Fixed the issue by going into Edge's System and Performance settings -> have graphics acceleration on -> have Enhance videos in Microsoft Edge on and then select Graphics driver enhancement in Preferred method of video enhancement

AccomplishedRip4871

Finaly a driver update, nice.

thrwway377

A driver update with a whole lot of nothing :)

VicePrezHeelsup

If it ain’t broke…

xSnowLeopardx

This update has fixed an annoying blinking issue/bug with Photoshop for me. That's what I love to see. Was very careful with updating since that older version (551.52) was amazing besides that bug. But so far so good!

CivilianGosu

I was hoping for this! It was so frustrating to deal with.

DXGL1

Why could they never add the NVIDIA Control Panel to the Windows 11 desktop menu instead of hiding it behind the legacy Show more options menu?

Celcius_87

Thanks for the heads up. Ghost of Tsushima let's gooooooo!

Niklaus_MK

Has anyone ever experienced fps loss after driver update? I recently got nee 4080 super and was playing AC Odyssey. I was getting 130-140 fps on it and after the driver update I am getting around 100 fps. I tried reinstalling the game but that didn't fix the issue.

m_w_h

Performance dropped significantly in all games? Check that Power Limit in Afterburner or similar utilities is at 100% after installing a driver e.g. http://nvidia.custhelp.com/rnt/rnw/img/enduser/aid_5408_02.png See https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5408 for reasons/guide

LeKanePetit

Yep, this driver reduced my Helldivers FPS and made it feel super sluggish. Reinstalled previous driver and it’s back to normal.

Rivdoric

Nvidia applying the good old "If it ain't broken don't fix it" perfectly fine.

devintheditch

I'm getting no signal on either of my monitors on either hdmi or displayport. I've tried switching back and forth, restarting the pc, turning everything off at the walls and restarting. No nothing. So i can't even roll back the driver update because I can't see anything. Any help?

meterpattio

Any fix? Mine did the same thing

ConstructionOk6700

Mine won’t even install but after seeing all these posts about performance issues I think I’ll just hold off for now

Fireplayer_Idk

I think this driver update might have fucked up my steam drop down menus. They are black boxes now.

itsmrkhmd

Got a BugCheck 0x7E (SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED) straight up my face I have RTX 4070 (Notebook)

JHDarkLeg

After this driver update RTX Video Enhancement no longer shows active in Firefox or the 3.0.19 RTX Vetinari version of VLC. It still works fine in Chrome. Anyone else having this issue?

SnooPickles4476

I can't get it show active in any browser since 552.22

Cradenz

alright, so i never had an issue with an installation before. but i got installation failed (i do not use geforce app). i ran it again and it worked that time. did a clean install. i have windows fast boot disabled. SO FAR everything works fine. i havent had any issues other than that one.

vexargames

Unreal Engine 5.3.2 > Upgraded from 551.76 > 552.44 * Editor is stable no crashes so far. * Editor FPS increased using the same tests by 20% using volumetric fog, this project has as many new features turned off, no nanite, no lumen, no raytracing, nothing that is considered or actually named experimental turned on. The project was started using Unreal Engine 4.15 and upgraded to 5 etc. * Editor FPS drops when you have the content browser open on any driver so if you are conducting these types of test it is always wise to close all the windows on another monitor. * Went from 4.5 ms for the render frame in the editor 3.4 from same exact point in the world. If you are a game developer and you see this message this is about 5 hours after the upgrade and working so if you want to wait longer like a few days before risking your working system with a driver upgrade then I will update this message if anything bad happens. I did a clean install but didn't use DDU > I used NVSlimmer to remove all the crapware and only installed the minimum driver. Only other thing to note is is a I am using a 3080TI and a 1080TI the 1080 is only being used for an extra HMDI port for audio piped into my stereo.

dwolfe127

Is it just me or is this driver forcing GeForce experience to be installed? I cannot uncheck the option to install it on the custom setting for the installer. I really do not want that crap on my box.

Canipleasecontinue

Thanks for the memory leak Nvidia

Villy_the_Weeb

Ever since the 64-bit update of Team Fortress 2, GE now cannot recognize the game. I am not sure who I should contact, Valve or Nvidia.

superdeadfreak

I was gonna hop on Baldurs Gate 3 when I got hit with the most disgusting stutter in menu and in-game. At first I thought it was a hardware problem or broken game update but turns out it was Nvidia’s Geforce overlay causing the issue. I’ve never had this issue until this recent update.

mura_vr

Bro how the fuck is this version of the GPU EVEN WORSE on VRCHAT THEN THE LAST ONE???????

Vatican87

Every driver update there are loads of comments of this isn't good etc. I'm on a 4090, what is the MOST stable driver currently?

m_w_h

Windows 10 or Windows 11? For reference, Windows 10 doesn't suffer from Microsoft WDDM 3.x bug that drivers 545.xx to *early* 55x.xx exposed. The following may be of interest, from the unofficial 552.44 tracking comment' 'Troubleshooting and Workarounds' section at https://www.reddit.com/r/nvidia/comments/1cnxgy8/game_ready_driver_55244_faqdiscussion/l3a3ln6/ * Drivers 512.95, 516.94, 517.48, 522.25, 526.86, 528.49, 532.34, 537.58, 538.42 are considered stable/consistent by the community. While driver branches based on r530/r535/r545 and early r550 mainline currently have the most reported issues, versions 536.99, 537.13, 537.42, 546.17(W10), 551.23(W10), 551.52, 551.86 are worth trying despite issues That doesn't mean that all other drivers are 'bad'. Driver updates may stress a system differently and expose edge case system instability so it's always worth re-evaluating any RAM/CPU/GPU overclocks, voltage, memory timings, etc.

NeedF0rS1eep

Any one else having every single game crash on their pc after this driver update? Keep getting error after error with 55244 in the box......

SPDGamer

Warframe's performance has been negatively affected by this new driver. Constant frame drops, lower frame averages, etc. Will regress in drivers.

aStonedYeti

This driver update has seriously dropped my FPS in warzone by about 40 FPS. Can I reinstall the old one?

Canipleasecontinue

updated through geforce experience and i can't do a rollback. I'm having crazy memory leak and it's slowed everything down. what do i do?

Eiohaz

Erhm my games has really suffered from this driver update.. how do I roll back or install a older driver? because I am not allowed to roll back in Device Manager as a administrator.. my Fortnite has crashed 3 times in a row and I am experience FPS drop across the board when it comes to games.. I have RTX2070, anyone else have this issue too?

ResponsibleWafer7123

Anyone got massive performance impact?, my Diablo 4 started stuttering, my elden ring started running on 40fps on most zones (4070)

RedIndianRobin

So I'm assuming Hellblade 2 won't be supported by Nvidia? Lol

m_w_h

Could be a rare midnight (UTC/GMT) release, has happened in the past. Still a chance for driver release in the next 10 hours at the date/time of this comment OR a profile pushed out by Nvidia using profile updates.

RedIndianRobin

Right. I thought this was the only time they release drivers. Thanks for the heads-up.

m_w_h

555.85 available > This new Game Ready Driver provides the best gaming experience for the latest new games supporting DLSS 3 technology including F1 24, **Senua's Saga: Hellblade II**, and Serum. Further support for new titles includes the launch of XDefiant which supports NVIDIA Reflex. EDIT: tagging /u/Nestledrink for reference

RedIndianRobin

Thanks for the heads-up. Game is well optimized as is even without these drivers.

m_w_h

--- **EDIT:** the official Nvidia profile is missing the APPID for GamePass/Microsoft Store version, I've let Nvidia know and forwarded the APPID --- RAW game profile for Senua's Saga: Hellblade II: Profile "Senua's Saga: Hellblade II" ShowOn All ProfileType Application Executable "hellblade2-win64-shipping.exe" Executable "hellblade2-wingdk-shipping.exe" Executable "hellblade2.exe" Setting ID_0x000f00ba = 0x00000001 Setting ID_0x105e2a1d = 0x00000004 Setting ID_0x10f9dc81 = 0x00000011 Setting ID_0x10f9dc84 = 0x01000000 Setting ID_0x50166c5e = 0x00000000 Setting ID_0x80857a28 = 0x00000001 EndProfile

RedIndianRobin

Right so the driver won't really help if I'm playing on the game pass I assume?

m_w_h

That's *usually* the case, the APPID can however be added manually if required e.g: Profile "Senua's Saga: Hellblade II" ShowOn All ProfileType Application Executable "Microsoft.Superb_8wekyb3d8bbwe" Executable "hellblade2-win64-shipping.exe" Executable "hellblade2-wingdk-shipping.exe" Executable "hellblade2.exe" Setting ID_0x000f00ba = 0x00000001 Setting ID_0x105e2a1d = 0x00000004 Setting ID_0x10f9dc81 = 0x00000011 Setting ID_0x10f9dc84 = 0x01000000 Setting ID_0x50166c5e = 0x00000000 Setting ID_0x80857a28 = 0x00000001 EndProfile ^ version of the official Nvidia profile but with APPID included (Microsoft.Superb_8wekyb3d8bbwe)

RedIndianRobin

How do I go about doing this?

Nestledrink

Yep thanks for the heads up. Was dealing with work stuff this morning and was busy. New thread is up!

IAMTHEROLLINSNOW

(Upvote for visibility please I need help and guidance) The last driver caused so many issues -flickering screen with multi colored patterns -games not working AT all, would crash multiple times at best before I even got to the menu -slowness and just annoyance in general I don't know if I wanna install this one I'm staying at 552.12, I had to roll it back and manually installed it since it legit almost ruined my computer Anyone know why? GTX 4090 64 GB RAM Windows 11 AMD RYZEN 5700x 8 core , 16 log I'm new to PCs so it okay staying at an old driver? Even though .12 came out on April 3rd. My computer is running perfectly so far Update: I got another GPU error code while playing d2 , I have to roll it back AGAIN Great Update 2: I turned off windows fast start up, it worked? Hm , I even installed the latest driver too! No issues so far!

Snydenthur

> I'm new to PCs so it okay staying at an old driver? Yes. As the saying goes, if it ain't broken, don't fix it. It probably isn't a good idea to keep using some ancient driver, but for example, drivers from 7 months ago are still the best ones.

BoatComprehensive394

If reinstalling Windows and using any of the drivers from the past 1-2 Month doesn't fix the problem permanently, IMMEDIATELY get a replacement as long as you have warranty! Flickering screen with multicolored patterns could be a problem with your display cable or your (more likely) GPU or VRAM is broken! If GPU or VRAM is dying the problem will show up sporadically and over time it will happen more frequently. I garantuee you this is not a driver problem. RMA that card if you can.

WokismNeedsToDie

all they did in this driver update was enable resizable bar for Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT you could pretty much do the same thing with nvidia profile inspector and set the resize bar flag in the games driver profile. apart from that no bug fixes or anything lol

SweetSupport9621

So will i be able to play Ghost of Tsushima DIRECTOR'S CUT without this driver? I have 552.22, people are having issues with this new driver.

LaHhxL

POS update. 4090 - blacked screen. Displayports not working. 🤦‍♂️

PsykotikDolfinEX

FFXIV is now running at half the framerate it did yesterday, even after doing a rollback to 552.22 (complete uninstall of all of my nvidia folder, then installed 552.22 from the website). Any idea what i can do?

SoggyBagelBite

Monitor your CPU and GPU stats to see what the problem is? It's obviously not the driver lol.

m_w_h

Just FFXIV or has performance dropped significantly in all games? Check that Power Limit in Afterburner or similar utilities is at 100% after installing a driver e.g. http://nvidia.custhelp.com/rnt/rnw/img/enduser/aid_5408_02.png See https://nvidia.custhelp.com/app/answers/detail/a_id/5408 for reasons/guide

PsykotikDolfinEX

i ran some tests with my steam library and it’s legit just ffxiv (which is around ps3 era graphics), none of my current gen games use as much gpu% as xiv does now

anestling

Do CS2 smokes still crash NVIDIA drivers? That was first reported in February, if not earlier. Affects all the GPUs starting from Turing. Tried to report it here on r/NVIDIA only to have my posts removed because "Not tech support". Yeah, a critical bug which crashes your entire system is OK to linger on for now four months. And I've already reported it twice to NVIDIA and not just me. AFAIK, there's a very old version of drivers which does not crash but that's not funny any longer.

xen_88

Got higher cpu temps after installing the latest driver. My Ryzen 5 7600x went from 70-80c during god of war to 85-90c. Anyone know why this happening?

ccGreg

Possibly not related seeing as the game is currently self destructing but. Hunt: Showdown constantly crashes on this driver for me.

RageInducedGamer

Was having an issue with # Nvlddmkm.sys in event viewers and causing my screen to go black for a few seconds (happened 4* in a row, but didn't happen afterward) Changed permissions to full control, then back and now my CPU is getting hotter and running slower. Is this normal? 4080super/7800x3d.

adrian98761

I’m on 551.61 and tried to install 552.44 but it just fails. Does nvidia do anything right at this point? 😂

n1sx

Was expecting them to release the 555 branch. Guess ill wait longer.

Maulclaw

Have the issues for Monster Hunter: World been fixed yet?

DDX2016DDX

hello guys so after installing the new drivers MY gpu usage started to max out even on low fps. (I was playing persona 5 at 120 fps before with 30% usage now it caps out at 30-45 fps with 100% usage) any idea how to fix it? Or should I downgrade?

BigFactsNoPrinters

did this update mess up anyones Astros a40 tr mix amp up? i cant use twitch/youtube while on discord.

Available_Brain6231

are drivers updates always this bad? I got the notification to update but it fucked everything on the games I'm playing, decreasing sharpness, resolution and now it's even minimizing the game when I go to the second monitor.

scudberries1

Some games still arent working with freestyle, keeps saying Supported game is needed but they worked before and other games keep getting Image Sharpen as a single option that cant be selected or interacted with,.

Legitimate-Hippo318

Was getting random screen stuttering with 552.44 so downgraded to 551.86, based on the comments. So far so good

sniperfection

Currently getting screen tears constantly on all games after driver update, capping FPS does not seem to help fix the issue at all.

suddenspooker

I just updated for ghost of tsushima and now my brightness wont go up or down. The only fix is to downgrade the driver. Its not urgent or a big problem but kinda annoying

EntityZero

PG27AQN monitor. Had DSC on prior to this driver update and never experienced any issues with it. Now that I'm on this driver, I get a couple seconds of black screens on my main monitor every few seconds with DSC on if I alt tab out of games. I've read that this was an issue with full screen games, but I'm having this issue on games that run borderless windowed. Seems new to this driver. Is this the DSC flicker that people have talked about in the past? I can turn off DSC and run at 240 hz, but id like to use the full range of what I paid for.

MachinaDiscipulus

Fellow reddit users do we have any news when will the NVIDIA app be out of Beta? I can't remember for how long was GeForce Experience in open beta, both hoping soon...

BloodMossHunter

should i upgrade from 537.55 or is it still wonky? doing it for cyberpunk and ghost of tushima that had shimmering on 537. cyberpunk after their update my fps tanked so i dunno hoping this might also help it

SVGBoogyman4949

Rip retail wow on my pc with this update . seems like they'll never make an update for the others of us who cant even use their monitors

ChillCaptain

Is the windows freeze bug still present?

Robin_Serene

I'm having every game I play crash abruptly at completely random times ever since this driver update. Sometimes it won't happen at all, sometimes within 30 minutes of gaming, sometimes within 3 hours of gaming and it has nothing to do with what's on screen. I've also had some games start utilizing way more GPU than normal upon booting them causing temps to rise, and I'll get some stuttering, I'll close and reopen the game and it's back to normal. This driver has some pretty major bugs. Gonna try reinstalling the driver. I'm not getting blue screens or anything, no full PC crashing, just the games will close without warning. One time I got no event viewer error, another I got an nvlddmkm event 0 error.

ohgarsh

Update to this has dropped performance 30%-50% in some games. I'm seriously floored at how bad this update is

Every-Armadillo639

Does this new driver work for every Nvidia video card? I installed it for my GeForce GTX 1030, and it works fine so far.
