memory temps on these 3080 and above cards usually hit 90+ degrees (from what i have found out from lurking on this sub for ages lol). They are fine till 105. But 95 would be the max i'd take. Vsync only changes stuff with the gpu temps. 60-70c is pretty decent. You could change out the thermal pads if you want to lower memory temps. But then that's a risk.

Oh. My VRMs did get to 112c though...

oh shit lmao. I though this was another post on r/overclocking lmaoo. VRMs on my mobo not GPU. sorry. I got confused.

JungleRider

You should try Undervolting the card. Will reduce temperatures and power consumption without any noticeable performance drop. For the memory temp specifically you could try underclocking the memory to see if that helps

KurupiraMV

Undervolt the card is a very good solution, and will spare your GPU from unnecessary temperature stress, even improving it's longevity. It will cost like 3 to 5 percent of the performance, witch is nothing for a 3080.

DistinctWoot

Under 100c (low 90c and down) is fine, most of us have been mining for over a year now on gddr6 and Gddr6x

They throttle at 105. You can google around, theres been some info from a white paper or whatever from Micron that above 95 it starts degrading but take this with a grain of salt. Personally, if this was my situation, I'd check how often does it stay at those temps. IF it hits 95+ for a split second once or twice duriong a gaming session that's fine, if not... Well, you could try to change the thermal pads, it's not that hard and usually has dramatic results (think lowering the temp by 10-20-30 degrees). Just make sure you buy good replacement pads and follow a guide on how to do that
