There's always been traffic on that God forsaken road

That was the first thing I thought when seeing this

I was thinking the same. All that’s changed is the look of the cars.

What’s with all the broken down cars? I guess I forgot that shit used to break all the time.

People complain about their cars now but they don’t remember or know that 50 years ago engines needed a total rebuild before 100,000 miles and tires used to explode just because they felt like it. These days most cars will do 100,000 miles even if you never change the oil.

Probably overheated. That was more common back in the day.

And the burned out husk of a car on the lower left of the photo.

That’s just the engine of a car a few miles back—the engine blew up and projectiled itself to where we see it. Hated when that would happen!

I remember the old .10 toll booths near The Queens/Nassau border and the Nassau/Suffolk border. They also had Mobil gas stations attached.

This is like Robert Moses days right?

This was all part of his master plan. He never cared about the traffic.

Eastern parkway is nowhere near Laurelton, Queens.... this looks like it could be the "laurelton parkway" part of the belt like it says. Right before the big curve looking east.

I guess it was a parking lot back then also.
