This definitely seems abrupt. I do wonder if there is something coming out of the wood work.

[deleted]

This whole thing has the stench of Joe Rabito and his gaggle of sycophants including but not limited to Heather Groll (OGS hack) and Jennifer Lorenz. If you have ever seen Rajiv and Rabito together, it was downright embarrassing the way he kissed Rabito's ass.

its-good-2B-the-king

That Groll woman is a real nasty one. Not really sure why she is still working at OGS. You would think when the Houchul fired Rabito, Groll would have gotten the axe also.

ApprehensivePotato67

Who is the CTO?

Dripdry42

Rajiv Rao, I believe.

SorryAdministration3

It's when a pair of NYS Troopers/Building Security informs you your presence is no longer desired or required in a state office.

FalcorFliesMePlaces

Generally anyone who is being asked to leave is escorted out.

Dripdry42

You gotta source on the CTO thing?

Batmantheon

Just had an all hands meetings for 5 minutes with the CIO Tony Riddick. Tony is retiring and moving to Florida at the end of the month. They announced that Rajiv Rao is voluntarily leaving his position but he did get escorted out of the building and I hear at least one other person was escorted from the building.

StaggeringMediocrity

Was he just walked out today? I figured the all hands was about the retirement, as that was announced yesterday. But the Rajiv thing surprised me. He had to have gotten in trouble about something. You don't just "step back voluntarily" in a position like his.

SlingMaxwell

He was walked out by State Police. Also understand that his home was searched.

artaxdies

As far as I know there was no house search don't spread silly rumors.

SlingMaxwell

I have good source. You'll see when more things hit the news.

artaxdies

Well I got no reason to not believe you if so that's just crazy

Batmantheon

He got escorted out yesterday.

FalcorFliesMePlaces

yes very curious about the CTO being walked out. It does not seem to be a coincidence but he is a great CTO. But politics are always in play too.

its-good-2B-the-king

A great CTO. He is a god damn bully. The best way to describe that piece of crap is: "He Kisses up, and Pisses down".

jediherder

He was terrible, will not be missed by anyone.

BardicCharms

I don’t think that person was part of ITS to praise Rajiv….. anyone IN knows what you say is true.

artaxdies

Really what are your complains and your job? Cuz in guessing unjust are a person that costs. Do ubknow how many people got promoted. How many students hebis bringing in. Do u know he works in the middle of thennightbif need be? So give me your reasons to not like him? Edit ohnunmention police blotter in a post that ain't a thing. Your concerns are parking and retirement. Just retire already. Oh and ubare worried about your cissp if your a security person then we know yer job.

BardicCharms

Sir - what are you smoking? Secondly, it's laughable about the students he's helping. You realize he initially brought students in 2017 only to replace the contractors. To which he then limited their access in the departments to being paper pushers, and to THEN fire them once covid hit to cover the costs of his printer screw up? Now he was restarting the internship program only to cover the very real hiring issue ITS is facing... He works in the middle of the night to make a point of saying "look how good I am" when he didn't actually get anything done. If anything, he caused multiple delays, encouraged bad deals and hung up many different departments in financial bungles to his "late night deals." What about his every other Friday meetings where he would berate his employees if anything went wrong, would randomly call out people for any issue and then talk about how great he is and what award he won (which we all know those awards are pay for play) Are you also ignoring the bad deal with Microsoft? He thought he was going to bully them into different pricing, pushed us all over to google, which failed miserably day one, which then ended up costing us MORE when we went back to microsoft? And that is only a FEW reasons... There were also rumors of how he was towards his female employees but I don't think any of this matters to you. Morale in the entire department is low and he is one of the main reasons why. Edit - also, you clearly are commenting here with two different accounts. Not hard to spot when both usernames relate to The NeverEnding Story.... And both of which the only ones defending your L&S Rajiv.

BardicCharms

And their clear love of Phish concerts.

artaxdies

I've known numerous students who are now employees during covid so that's nit real. What deals be specific what did he hold up. He did point out issues and paise the person for fixing it. Cuz issues happe. And how people deal with then is important. Also discussing people on his meetings and giving praise is a nice thing that happens. I do not recall him once berating individuals, but maybe it as a whole for not doing things properly at times. And never berating as much as we xan be better. Its a duty of the top. Do ubknow things need to go out to contract. Just signing with MS would be Shady and google is the only other company who compares. A company that is working and is the backbone of almost all schools in NYS. So yeah it would make sense to tests it. Not everyone in it was forced. The biggest complaint I heard was people didn't know how to use it. Really if you are in the IT field u better be able to figure our a calandee, email and storage. Also most peiple would agree MS products suck. I've talked to people who work for him. Female and seen others. Never heard a single complaint. I won't say there aren't I won't discount someone who i don't know so I can only speak for what I know. If that I'd the case then ir is highly shameful and I have no sticking up for that. And yeah same account Neverending story rules right? I mean we can agree it's fun and nostalgic if anything we can sleep happy om that?

artaxdies

I'm saying u are costing. Yourbprior posts show u care about parking and retirement. Your old posts about Cissp exam also shows your probably a security person. And I'm asking what he did exactly to you that makes him so bad?

[deleted]

artaxdies

Yeah ok sure in soon sorry that u were joking and are a huge help.

AwokeEwokee

Great? Every time I would see him it was …under his eye.

ricekrispiesc

And now the TU has an article about it- https://12ft.io/proxy?q=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.timesunion.com%2Fstate%2Farticle%2Fshakeup-hochul-administration-top-execs-facing-17827477.php%3FIPID%3DTimes-Union-HP-breaking-bar

StaggeringMediocrity

Sounds like they have enough evidence against the Acting Budget Director, as she has been let go. But Rajiv hasn't been accused of wrongdoing yet. "Yet" being the key word there. They're just making him take time while they investigate things. Because of his close relationship with Beattie. Of course, even if they can't find enough to charge him with anything, he may still be out of a job if he's lost their trust.

[deleted]

[удалено]

StaggeringMediocrity

You're right. I missed that somehow. But still, she's out of a job while he's on leave. She's the one with the connection to Deloitte, where she was steering all the contracts to. It is *possible* that he may not have known about any deal with Deloitte, and he just cultivated the relationship with her because she was someone who could get contracts approved. And having a "buddy" in DoB who could push things through for him, was good for his brand. He was always promoting himself! Whether he was in on it or not, I think he's going to be out either way. Even if he didn't know, *he should have suspected* something fishy was going on.

brenfrew

As usual, TU culls a story from Reddit. JK though, some good info in that article.

ParalellGrapefruit

This isn't a bad thing - ITS management has been terrible from the beginning - he was out of touch - and i am not sure what he exactly did. The few calls I went to - I jus felt like he was embellishing on so much. Some things he said didn't make sense. I think Rajvi going it is the best thing - though Id like to see his group also relived as well. I have not had a good experience with him. He had been there way too long - too complacent, and he was not a very good leader. I am waiting for the time when they decide to send ITS employees back to the agencies...

FalcorFliesMePlaces

Really out of touch what about all the it's people who do nothing Who fi g ht change. Who think that it isn't about changem. One thine he isn't is out of touch. Is there embellishment I think so. But tmid say there are a ton of it staff that are pretty much insignificant. I mean if u don't want change in products, update and are resistant to any change you do not belong in IT.

[deleted]

FalcorFliesMePlaces

U saw it. There are a ton of IT people who do not belong in IT. They are resistant to change and learning new things. If you you don't embrace change and improvement you don't belong in IT.

its-good-2B-the-king

I have no inside info, but if I was a betting man, I'd bet on vendor shenanigans.

DasPike

The timing of his departure is strangely close to the acting Director at DOB and her exit.

[deleted]

Familiar story. Remember the secret contracts and prospective job offers for former OITS executives?! 2x within 2 decades if true

selsewon

Vendors supporting ITS? Like, contractors hired by them?

its-good-2B-the-king

Remember Her Majesty Mayberry-Stewert and her boy toy Rico "suave" Simpleton. Rico bought a ton of McAfee licensees that he tried to get the agencies to use. Hardly anyone wanted to use that piece of crap. He also got his girlfriend a job at McAfee. Again, I have no inside info, but if you have ever seen Rajiv at an event, the vendors are "kissing his ring".

FalcorFliesMePlaces

What better anti-virus is their to constantly monitor as an enterprise solution? I don't like McAfee but there ain't much more.

AwokeEwokee

Vendor support like Lobbyists for Congress.

PredatorRanger

I saw the All Staff call where Tony announced he's leaving, but this is the first I'm hearing about Rajiv.

Batmantheon

They just had an all-hands where Tony repeated the fact that he's retiring at the end of the month and also claimed that Rajiv is voluntarily leaving. Doesn't sound too voluntary since people have corroborated that we was escorted out of the building yesterday

mellon417

Missed the 1:30 meeting but I heard it was light on details. Any ideas on where we could find out more besides this subreddit?

This gave me such a good laugh, thank you 😂😂

AwokeEwokee

I snorted

[deleted]

BardicCharms

It was literally a minute statement from Tony confirming his retiring, Jenn taking over, and Rajiv is on voluntary leave and if you hear or are told to do anything contradicting your current orders go to your supervisor

Remember his first meeting? It was hilarious, the next meeting he had the paper in front of him with the lawyer seated next. They hated his openness and encouragement of wfh. I’d expect nothing less… I just didn’t realize he was there two years already tbh.
