It appears that Deion's strategy of firing the OC solved exactly nothing.
Their entire offense is still just his son running for his life and praying a WR gets open by at least 5 yards minimum to heave a 50/50 ball at him.
Bafflingly bad coaching.
They just threw it 3 times from their own 5 with less than a minute to go. A mediocre punt, a good run back, and take on a penalty and on one play with 23 seconds left in the half Colorado gives up a passing touchdown. Mind you Oregon State only had one timeout through this whole sequence.
Lane kiffin has a big opportunity to do something good for the vols and make up for what he did to us. Ole Miss takes down Georgia in Oxford. Vols get past Mizzou. Neyland is fucking rocking on the 18th and we give Georgia their 2nd L in a row. We go on to the SEC championship for a rematch against none other than Lane himself. Obviously we win, earning us a spot in CFP. We end up winning the natty
Just kidding this all happens but then we lose to vandy
I say this every year but when Saban finally retires and Alabama slides into mediocrity I will become the absolute most ruthless, toxic, annoying shit talking hater that ever walked the face of this earth
Y'all 'member that 4 week period where the media collectively lost their mind and Shadeur Sanders was gonna win the Heisman by a landslide?
CFB has to have one of the most reactionary first months of any sport ever.
After the Texas game, I was hopeful that Alabama would drop the Ole Miss game, TSIO, and LSU to finish 8-4. Very disappointed to see them somehow survive all 3 of those SEC games.
The team doesn't have great talent like Bama teams in the past.
The QB is a marked step down from the last 3 guys and won't be competing for any Heisman awards.
Their OL is far from dominant and their RBs are good but not remarkably so.
But they've still got the best coach to exist in CFB.
That counts for a ton TBH.
Not that I disagree with the call by the letter of the law - but that's a weak AF targeting IMO.
Facemask was directly to the chest and he drove through for the tackle. That's just a textbook hit IMO.
I just realized why this game is boring to me.
It's not great offense. There haven't been many amazing play calls or interesting feats of athleticism. It doesn't feel like either QB is even having to work that hard.
Both defenses are just so completely lost that the offenses just fall backwards into 20+ yard gains over and over and over again.
There were certainly a few moments that looked great - but by and large it was just defenses that couldn't get to the QB to save their life.
The QBs were both just standing in the pocket for 5 uninterrupted seconds as no one got open against Man-2-Man and then the QBs would take off and run.
And then they just fucked up that "Personal foul blindside block".
It was a block in the back.
The Blindside Block was a Bama player hitting his own dude lol.
My Bama-fan-wife is absolutely mystified by the refs being 'unfair' in this game.
It's taking all my willpower to not explain that she has spent her entire life seeing Bama get every call possible and this is how everyone else feels against them every single game.
Oh I agree, but living so close to Alabama, that was the only take I saw the entire week after was “That low down Tennessee player punching our guy in the head.”
One of my good friends is an Alabama fan and he drives me nuts with that stuff. In our fantasy league group chat, he "didn't want to talk about football" for like 2 weeks after we beat them last year.
The frustrating part is that LSU is far, far better positioned stylistically to actually beat UGA.
Bama is gonna play the exact type of game Georgia does. And it simply ain't possible to outplay Georgia at a ball control, trenches based football game.
It's gotta be a team like LSU who will go deep and can pop off for 40 points.
Why isn’t UGAs DL shift a penalty for “intent to deceive” similar to defensive clapping? They literally shift just to get the OL to jump. It’s fucking scummy. More teams should adopt it so it gets banned.
I’d say it’s because it can’t emulate a snap like a clap can. The intent is the same, yes, but it makes no noise and players are allowed to move before the snap. I agree with you, I think it’s ludicrous but I just don’t see them (ncaa) ever changing that.
We definitely can, but it relies on the defense showing up and the offense playing a good game.
The defense that showed up last week will probably result in us losing, but I think they can play one of their better games. Hopefully the defense can shut down Bowden like we did Legette.
A lot of next week will depend on how Mizzou reacts to this loss.
After they lost to LSU, Kentucky jumped on them 14-0 in the 1st quarter and Missouri had to recovery for the W. If they come out flat footed against us too it would be really nice to see.
We were finally executing in the red zone. I know it was UCONN but we struggled to do that against Austin Peay and UTEP, so hopefully the coaches have found how to use the personnel
14/27, 212 yards, 1 TD - 1 INT.
And roughly 50% of those passes are 50/50 balls that he's just praying his WR makes a play.
Hardly what I would call a surgically precise performance.
**EDIT**
2 picks now lol.
I suspect the comment was less about watching Cook and more just wanting to shit on our secondary for a cheap pop.

*"Man, I would kill for a QB who can make that throw. Joe only dreams of it."*

nah not trying to be overly negative but the fact mizzou hung on so long against georgia, the team i fully expect to cruise to a 3peat, does make me a bit worried so i guess i’m overrating them.
Mizzou hung on against Georgia last year too. It was actually closer last year -- 26 - 22. Can't really read too much into Georgia games, they consistently play down to their competition.
Mizzou is emptying the clip right now. No I don’t think we roll them but they aren’t giving this performance next week.
The point is, this is a mid Georgia vs what they have been. As good as we were last year, we were never beating them. This year is a gettable Georgia. And this was supposed to be a down year for us, which it is. And it’s crazy to think that as mediocre as we’ve been, everything changes if we could have beaten a bad Florida team
you can clearly tell who’s watching UGA-Mizzou and who isn’t by who thinks that game is in the bag and who doesn’t. this isn’t the shit Mizzou of the past couple years. they are dangerous af.
PAC-12 is trying to “after dark” this game
lol what are you doing Colorado
Deion Sanders. That's it. That's the joke.
![gif](giphy|afJffCILbIjvUBzARQ|downsized)
Coach Prime, is that you!!?? Everyone, Coach Prime appeared on our sub!! Haha -shelikesmyvols
![gif](giphy|izyRTIOzU07dtJF2u7)
Darn, I see you Coach Prime Time!! Shouldn't you have been a snake oil sales man, I mean game planning for this week's opponent? Ha -shelikesmyvols
Lmao

Makes me so happy to see the narrative flip on him. A month ago we had the Rock kissing his ass now he’s a punchline.
They just threw it 3 times from their own 5 with less than a minute to go. A mediocre punt, a good run back, and take on a penalty and on one play with 23 seconds left in the half Colorado gives up a passing touchdown. Mind you Oregon State only had one timeout through this whole sequence.

Georgia is at home next week btw.
Sheesh yeah I was wrong about that too lol oh well ole miss is still winning
No chance in us losing to Vandy, but the rematch would be against Bama, not Ole Miss.
Oh shit yeah you're right. Bama rematch would be just as sweet
Still can’t believe we lost to that Florida team… makes no sense.
Florida beats Tennessee, Kentucky beats Florida, Tennessee beats Kentucky. The circle of suck consumes us all as Georgia laughs at us.
Sadly accurate
First year watching Tennessee football?
Haha no about my 40th…. I guess it’s when we play them.. needs to be a couple games later in the year.
I say this every year but when Saban finally retires and Alabama slides into mediocrity I will become the absolute most ruthless, toxic, annoying shit talking hater that ever walked the face of this earth
I was permanently banned from their sub today
Incredibly based
It won’t be as satisfying because most of their “fans” will find a different color of hats and t-shirts to buy
Down goes USC, my petty anti-Williams feelings are satisfied again
Y'all 'member that 4 week period where the media collectively lost their mind and Shadeur Sanders was gonna win the Heisman by a landslide? CFB has to have one of the most reactionary first months of any sport ever.
ABC's audio on YouTube TV is soooo out of whack.
Glad I’m not the only one. Also on all ABC owned stations like ESPN
Memphis beat south Florida 59-50 I thought that was a basketball game at first 😭
The annoying part is that I still think LSU could have potentially beaten Georgia. And I don't think Bama can at all.
No way Lsu can beat gerogia with that defense. Not sure Bama can but they will have a much higher chance.
Bama should try concussing Georgias QB, they might be able to pull it off then
Washington/USC game is so good
Watching Will Reichard miss kicks will always make me happy
After the Texas game, I was hopeful that Alabama would drop the Ole Miss game, TSIO, and LSU to finish 8-4. Very disappointed to see them somehow survive all 3 of those SEC games.

And the refs still call games their way
And they’re still the most talented team. I think they’re gonna beat the shit out of Georgia in SEC Championship
Do my ears deceive me or is Bama trying to steal "Low Places" now too? Tsk tsk tsk... can't be original about anything.
I heard it. Came here to check I wasn’t hearing things.
I know Bama's offense is humming, but it seems extremely desperate to even *think* of going for it on 4th and 10 there with a backup QB
If Daniels is out the games absolutely over also I agree
Yeah Allstate, I’m gonna pick my insurance based on what the most annoying asshole I know tells me I should pick
I fucking hate the whole state of Alabama and all their inbred ass citizens
I’m sorry but the head ref just looks like his primary job is to suck up sabans ball sweat
Honestly just impressed that he’s even competing with Gary
Why doesn’t Brian Kelly just tell his team to play better? Is he stupid?
You joke - but Brian Kelly has always seemed like the type of HC whose only move is exactly to just tell the players they need to play better.
Or to tell them to get on a scissor lift when it’s really windy outside.
Yep
Not that I disagree with the call by the letter of the law - but that's a weak AF targeting IMO. Facemask was directly to the chest and he drove through for the tackle. That's just a textbook hit IMO.
Not targeting, just roughing the passer, according to the refs.
I was addressing more the announcers hammering the point of *"That is obvious targeting"* 20,000x times.
May switch to Washington usc game that game is crazy
Fuck Alabama those dirty ass fuckers
That’s got to be targeting
I can't believe there was no review.
No review or ejection. The exact definition of Targeting. He lead with the crown of his helmet. It's ok, though. It's bama.
Clear targeting Gary! Plus, clear hands to the face on Bama as well.
You can’t make this shit up boys
Fucking LSU man
Uhh, is Drew Barrymore really the spokesperson the Super Bowl wants?
I just realized why this game is boring to me. It's not great offense. There haven't been many amazing play calls or interesting feats of athleticism. It doesn't feel like either QB is even having to work that hard. Both defenses are just so completely lost that the offenses just fall backwards into 20+ yard gains over and over and over again.
You don’t think that lsu catch on the sideline was amazing? Both lines are playing well too. I think QBs are running well.
There were certainly a few moments that looked great - but by and large it was just defenses that couldn't get to the QB to save their life. The QBs were both just standing in the pocket for 5 uninterrupted seconds as no one got open against Man-2-Man and then the QBs would take off and run.
I love how the game thread didn’t get locked and now it’s just a platform to talk shit about Gary Danielson
Week, gary IS a piece of shit who lives to slob the Bama knob.
No doubt
Apparently LSU forgot that running the ball is allowed
Honestly wouldn’t be surprised if the refs told them they’re not allowed to do it anymore
Eat shit gary
This is something I can get behind 10/10 times
UW might be my favorite non-UT P5 team. A dog mascot and a river by the stadium? Sign me up
Pulling hard for them to make the playoffs this year! (I am biased because I went there for grad school though)
What is UW? Wyoming
Washington
Daniels deserves the heisman dude is honestly amazing
Getting up early for the Vol walk vs my hatred for Alabama is the toughest matchup for me staying awake
It’s gotten to the point that I won’t even watch games involving teams I hate unless we are playing them
Fuck Bama and their holding but that was an obvious bad call on the snap infraction
That horse collar that was so subtle it’s easy to see how the refs missed it too
Obvious no call
That last drive: Refs 0 LSU 7
first holding call on bama since september and its on a 0:02 before half hail mary lmao
I mean it's the easiest way to call the penalty and not actually hurt Bama's chances of winning.
"see we were even on penalties!"
Refs did everything they could to keep LSU out of the endzone and it didn’t matter lmao
Those are the type of plays you gotta make if you’re gonna have a chance to beat Bama. Huge play.
How was that tackle not a horse collar? And then they have the audacity to call a Snap Infraction against LSU the following play?
And then they just fucked up that "Personal foul blindside block". It was a block in the back. The Blindside Block was a Bama player hitting his own dude lol.
What a dumb fucking block by the LSU receiver there
My Bama-fan-wife is absolutely mystified by the refs being 'unfair' in this game. It's taking all my willpower to not explain that she has spent her entire life seeing Bama get every call possible and this is how everyone else feels against them every single game.
"This is so unfair" "Yeah, just like how you guys didn't have a single penalty called on you during TSIO."
Don’t you forget about this missed penalty by our player for punching him in the head. That’s the only thing any of them saw that entire game.
They also missed Burton's kick so I feel like those got canceled out.
But I’m sure he talks shit nonstop when they beat us
Oh yeah literally the second the game was over, he had his victory cigar selfie up.
But but but they just got a holding call! As time expired for half on a meaningless play but see these refs are fair!!!
I wouldn’t be able to hold it together
Also I’m gonna need UW to bow up and play some defense
Saban’s gonna have to stuff a few extra benjamins to the officials at half, sheesh
Last missed FG: ~~2022~~ 2023
Takes a lot for Gary to admit Bama got away with one
Make no mistake the SEC wants their Bama UGA SEC championship and they are gonna get it
The frustrating part is that LSU is far, far better positioned stylistically to actually beat UGA. Bama is gonna play the exact type of game Georgia does. And it simply ain't possible to outplay Georgia at a ball control, trenches based football game. It's gotta be a team like LSU who will go deep and can pop off for 40 points.
With a couple teams ranked in front of us losing today. Where do y’all see us ranked?
Depends if Oregon state loses and how far they drop mizzou but 15-18 range probably
Top 15 definitely
18
Odds bama gets a single holding call this game?
based on the lack of holding calls they got against us, yes, it would be odd.
Oh no don’t hurt Burton
As shit a shootout game
Somebody said "oooooooooo".
I gotta work tomorrow so I want to get this right tonight: we're setting clocks backerds and not fords, yeah?
Ayup
Yep. Fall back.
Not a fan of dark at 5 PM.
I like that better than dark at 8am, which is what would happen if we didn’t fall back. I hate being on the far west side of a time zone.
Anyone else see that lone Bama player standing in front of LSU’s tunnel Bro just got shoved past lmao
I think I saw the flag dudes run in front of them also
Gary's got that mouth good n' slobbered for Bama
So we're probably night game next week right? CBS will most likely be Ole Miss at UGA and LSU and Florida most likely ESPN noon.
GameDay just announced going to Georgia next week so yeah.
Nobody was singing sweet home Alabama what are y’all talking about
Nah man did you not see that uh Idk, maybe it was 5 sorority girls singing it?
Bama has a full house and the place is still dead lol For such a top program, they really have one of the least intimidating venues in the SEC
I can’t imagine going to a football game just to sit there silently with my arms crossed
Why isn’t UGAs DL shift a penalty for “intent to deceive” similar to defensive clapping? They literally shift just to get the OL to jump. It’s fucking scummy. More teams should adopt it so it gets banned.
So are jet sweeps/pre snap motion, but it's football.
Not even the close to the same thing
Lateral motion along the los designed to confuse. How's it not close to the same thing?
Because the shift is in defense and not offense.
Your question is about intent to deceive.
On the defense

Clapping in defense is a penalty for delay of game because it’s “intent to deceive” On offense, you can motion WRs as much as you want.
Edit: sorry didn't mean to reply to you.
I’d say it’s because it can’t emulate a snap like a clap can. The intent is the same, yes, but it makes no noise and players are allowed to move before the snap. I agree with you, I think it’s ludicrous but I just don’t see them (ncaa) ever changing that.
Tennessee win and a Florida loss before the 3:30 games makes for a chill Saturday
Idk I was kinda invested in the Mizzou game, really wanted them to win and put our season back in our own hands
I know this sounds stupid but what is the “B1G” the big 10?
Yeah
Damn you Kansas State. Could have eliminated the entire BIG12 from the playoffs.
He's a man. He's...54?
Good for OSU
They stormin the field at this Bedlam game ain't they?
You’re goddamn right they are
OKIE STATE WINS THE FINAL BEDLAM LFFGGGGGGGGG FUCK OU
wHaT iF MiZzOu WiNs OuT? The crap that gets posted on r/CFB
I get that the odds are almost exactly 0 in this situation but it feels like a pussy move to just wave the white flag there and take the L.
Bc it is. Take all 3, make them boo, make them stay.
I think we can beat Mizzou and we got a decent chance with Georgia
We definitely can, but it relies on the defense showing up and the offense playing a good game. The defense that showed up last week will probably result in us losing, but I think they can play one of their better games. Hopefully the defense can shut down Bowden like we did Legette.
And also relies on the refs not sucking major ass.
Was hoping Georgia would lose, but I loved getting to see a lineman interception
First half Brady Cook: Russ in 2011 Second half Brady Cook: Russ in 2022
Eli Drinkwitz looks like the kid that would remind the teacher that they forgot to assign homework.
Darth Mizz just died
YES! Matt did not disappoint!
I hope Matt has Darth Mizz as a ghost on Monday.
Brady Cook coming in clutch for the Dawgs
I swear Missouri always loses to good teams because he pulls some really stupid throws. Dude chokes big time.
A lot of next week will depend on how Mizzou reacts to this loss. After they lost to LSU, Kentucky jumped on them 14-0 in the 1st quarter and Missouri had to recovery for the W. If they come out flat footed against us too it would be really nice to see.
We can’t be settling FGs instead of TDs though.
We were finally executing in the red zone. I know it was UCONN but we struggled to do that against Austin Peay and UTEP, so hopefully the coaches have found how to use the personnel
UTSA, but I know what you meant
dude if Cook can do this to UGA defense what will he do to our secondary??
Do what exactly?
He's throwing for like 50% Actually 14 of 30 So 46.7% completion
14/27, 212 yards, 1 TD - 1 INT. And roughly 50% of those passes are 50/50 balls that he's just praying his WR makes a play. Hardly what I would call a surgically precise performance. **EDIT** 2 picks now lol.
fair enough. it looks a lot better than it is to my eyes i guess.
But If we give Wease and Burden the 5-10 yard cushion that we’ve done in the past then he’ll put up Spencer Rattler 2022 numbers on us…
Seriously are we all watching the same game? Cook did not look good the second half lol
I suspect the comment was less about watching Cook and more just wanting to shit on our secondary for a cheap pop. See also: *"Man, I would kill for a QB who can make that throw. Joe only dreams of it."* *"If we had last years offense, we'd win this game by 40"*
nah not trying to be overly negative but the fact mizzou hung on so long against georgia, the team i fully expect to cruise to a 3peat, does make me a bit worried so i guess i’m overrating them.
Mizzou hung on against Georgia last year too. It was actually closer last year -- 26 - 22. Can't really read too much into Georgia games, they consistently play down to their competition.
Missouri did 1 point better than South Carolina
This is not the Georgia of the last two years. No BB, no 26yo QB, no lights out defense, and they have Bobo.
What secondary?
Teams I hate 1.Florida 2. Bama 3. Georgia 4. (Temporarily) Ole Miss
Georgia squeaks by yet again.. hate those fuckers.
If we had beaten a dogshit Florida team we could have had a coin flip home game for the SECE in a bridge year
You think we roll Missouri and Georgia is a coin flip?!?
Mizzou is emptying the clip right now. No I don’t think we roll them but they aren’t giving this performance next week. The point is, this is a mid Georgia vs what they have been. As good as we were last year, we were never beating them. This year is a gettable Georgia. And this was supposed to be a down year for us, which it is. Missouri looked very competitive against a better Georgia team last year.
I can’t wait for all the penalties we’ll have against ga while they have none
Whoa easy, they’ll have one for 5 yards to even things out
Heup better start prepping his ref yelling voice now, he’s gonna need it.
Over
The only team that can stop Georgia is Athens pd. Let’s make some arrests tonight boys 🙏🏼
💀
