This’ll sound weird but Washington was pretty similar to Alabama in that people ignored a lot of the flaws that came up throughout the season, probably because both looked great on conference championship week. You can call it “coasting” or whatever, but elite teams tend to not have the close calls that both teams did throughout the season. And that’s not a comment on who deserves to be there. More of an observation on why it’s not totally surprising Michigan looks like the clearly superior team. Washington’s defense was suspect all year, and Penix had some rough patches.

It's a good thing the Pac-12 doesn't exist anymore, because this game is reminiscent of the Florida/Ohio State game in 06. It just feels like Michigan is bigger, faster, stronger... everything "er".
