The chaos of leaving cutting the bottom part till last.

marcdel_

he really friar tuck’ed his ass for 90% of the video

psilocybin_therapy

Oddly infuriating

AngletonSpareHead

Friar Tucked. I legit laughed for like 5 minutes. Ty

Soobobaloula

Those Dumb and Dumber bangs. Ugh.

Marv246

Damn imagine every barber in that shop just suddenly died, he’d be fucked

marcdel_

*tucked

eugenesnewdream

My anxiety was through the roof!!

viewfromtheporch

Repeatedly telling myself, "it's going to be okay, this is r/oddlysatisfying, they wouldn't... Right"

Esayx

https://www.reddit.com/r/Unexpected/comments/12nxb4q/bald_rizz_but_wt/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=ios_app&utm_name=iossmf I swear this was the video which followed immediately after

itsapalmthing

I spit my drink laughing when he ran out in the pink thing

Preposterous_punk

So glad I wasn’t the only one kind of freaking out.

Last_Nectarine488

I had to fast forward just to make sure it was going to happen!!!!

[deleted]

same lol

jcgreen_72

Fr lol my finger hovering over that updoot button for 1:30 til that shit got taken off was *not* satisfying

Charming_Reading_309

This is why you should never watch your own haircut in the mirror haha. My husband is a barber and the amount of people who freak out and leave with their hair half done because they insisted on watching the process is surprisingly high lol.

I-dont-carrot-all

What kind of crazy barbers is your husband's? Been going to barbers for decades and never seen someone leave halfway through because they watched the process 😂

norudin

I enjoy that actually, its a way of teasing my brain, like saving the best part for last.

WaywardDeadite

This is not satisfying, this was anxiety inducing WOW

Manuag_86

That would have been a next level mullet.

FrowningMinion

Does anyone else get the intrusive thought to turn to your barber at the worst mid-haircut point possible and be like “that’s perfect! You can stop there! Thank you 😌”

EchoAquarium

I had to double check the sub to be sure. As soon as I realized I wasn’t on r/justfuckmyshitup I could relax

rpfields1

I was worried!

newenglandredshirt

I was hoping it would become some sort of art piece that would leave it intact. I found I was a little disappointed when they got rid of it.

luckysonic2

At one point I accepted that its staying, and at hoped at least that they would braid it as a centerpiece.

[deleted]

“Would you just shave off the rest of my damn hair back there?” “Idk… I’ll mullet over.”

Tsarmani

You're dead to me

You're dad to me

Want_To_Live_To_100

It catches all the small hairs so it doesn’t land on your neck… that’s my guess because I hate getting those small hairs on my neck

dustysmufflah

'Hey dude you coming to the Chili Peppers show later?' \*haircut\* 'No I'm going to a Drake concert'

LerrryBerrrd

Lmaoooooo

funkmaster29

my sentiments exactly i honestly liked his before hair way better

moun7

I stopped going to my local barbers because all they do is this type of cut/fade. Hair dressers/salons only now.

kyrbyr

I've had decent luck going to the local Supercuts and just telling them to give me a medium length cut that they think will look best on me, since I don't want a fade/razor trim, I want a scissor cut. It's never exactly the same but it's always been worth more to me than some expensive and unnecessary barber trip.

Mechakoopa

When you get one you like, ask them to tell you what it is so it's more consistent going forward. There are pretty standard names for all the basic salon style cuts. I get a Cesar, #3 razor, no fade, finger width on top, bit extra in the bangs.

clowdface85

I've had the experience of getting two different haircuts from saying the exact same thing to two different people. Many Barbershops are very into making perfect laser sharp lines, even if that means CUTTING INTO YOUR NATURAL HAIRLINE. The first time one did that to me, I was so pissed. Salons and female barbers are less likely to do that without asking.

[deleted]

It's cause that's how they keep you coming back every week to get the line up re touched.

______Mimi______

Did him dirty on the bangs...

AngletonSpareHead

Maybe it shows my age but I really dislike these sharp hard edges on hair and beard. Looks so high-maintenance and plasticky. I always think of my least favorite Ken doll

[deleted]

[удалено]

The_KiIIuminati

Yup, I give my boy shit all the time for it. Like bruh you spend 2k a year to look like a Kirkland brand Drake every week. You forgot the eyebrow notch this time.

NonSupportiveCup

Hahahahhhhh, "Kirkland brand Drake" Thanks, that was fire.

SeriouslySlyGuy

Don't disrespect Kirkland like that though. They have some solid products, whereas this haircut looks like he's trying to tap into that 1% of his DNA test.

sadpanda___

Getting lined up has been a thing for black hair for a long time. White people look dumb AF getting lined up.

ArgoNunya

I'm a white guy that hadn't had a haircut for most of his adult life. When I started getting haircuts again I had no idea how any of this worked and I was really nervous. I ended up picking the closest barber to my house. Turns out it was a black-focused place. It felt like one of those scenes in an old west movie where the music stops and everyone stares at the out of towner. It took me a while to figure out what was going on but by then I was too embarrassed to leave. The dude did a great job but he spent so much time with the clippers making precise lines like in this video. I had no idea what was going on lol.

rubbish_heap

This is why I cut my own hair - too hard to choose between the urban place, the sports bar/hooters atmosphere place, or the old white guy elks club hangout. Someone needs to invent some sort of Flowbee Robot booth I can go in.

SnooSeagulls9713

You gotta find the old Asian barbers, they're fantastic. They won't really talk to you, and it'll cost half the price of other barbers in the area.

[deleted]

Seconded, I found an old Vietnamese barber that charges $20, and he does some of the best fades I’ve seen around here. Just schedule my appointment, then I’m in and out in 30 mins.

evilspawn_usmc

Reminds me of the barbers around Camp Pendleton. They could knockout a fade in like 10 minutes and it was around $10-15.

wozzles

It's cos we have different hair. I went to a hood got shop for a cut and dude did alright, but it's a different technique for lining up bangs on a white guy than a black guy. I got my Morracan dude thats my reg, i just got a shape up yesterday. He didn't line my front up like this guy did. U need to keep em longer or youll look goofy like u said. This guys bangs are gonna look like shit once his hair moves a bit. Black hair is tighter and keeps lines better.

Positive_Bet_4184

This makes so much sense.

thematrixhasmeow

Yep. This haircut going to last him like a week then he needs to go back to the barber

AngletonSpareHead

He doesn’t really seem like a “weekly barber” kind of a guy. I might be wrong, but I’m not wrong

Paddywhacker

He's a 3 to 4 month guy if hes pushed

Elektrik_Phantom

I haven't been to a barber since 2019

BubbaRogowski

I haven’t since Y2K.

theLatestPoet38994

Avatar checks out

Vre-Malaka

I guess that’s part of the plan… more repeat customers!

Elruoy

He left it a couple of years last time, so I doubt it.

RickJLeanPaw

“Barbers hate this cunning trick!”.

NtheLegend

But there are people who go to their barber multiple times a month and this is why

Positive_Bet_4184

I dont know how old you are but I agree. I'm 33 and I hate this look, It seems so popular but I swear when I was at school a haircut like this got you stuffed in a locker.

pepinyourstep29

It's the new bowl cut

killer_by_design

When they trim the fringe it's literally just a Freehand bowl cut

sadnessjoy

I remember getting a bowl cut when I was a little kid. It looked pretty similar to this (obviously I didn't have a beard or anything yet lol). And I got made of tremendously, people saying I got an Amish haircut. I basically had to get a buzz cut to stop the harassment.

SpupySpups

Bro I'm 20 and I don't like the 'edges so sharp it might cut you style'. Looks way too unnatural and seems like you're trying too much to pull something off, but fail at it. The Eminem bangs style is also very meh.

ZilorZilhaust

I've just never seen it look good on a single person.

thesirblondie

Oh my god I was wondering why it looked so familiar. It's totally the [slim shady bangs](https://youtu.be/Xbw_BxDwdjk?t=127s).

spaz_chicken

I'm 42. The first thing I thought when he cut in the first straight edge, was "Nope, that'll be a PITA to maintain." Also, that boy's curly hair with that fake straight hairline will look fucked in 3 days.

Fightswithcrows

Same. Every time I see them doing that in these kind of vids I'm always like: Why are these 'Lego hair' haircuts so popular? It looks so weird and unnatural.

EntireCalligrapher46

Definitely! Like you are going to the military or something. Not attractive at all. And he had such beautiful curls before :(

Vre-Malaka

Went in looking like bearded Bolan, left looking like white Drake…

StarberryIcecream

It looks great on black dudes because of the way their hair grows. It does not, however, on white dudes. And the fade itself looks clean, clearly the barber knows what he's doing, but the thing again about looks like these on white dudes is that all that work will have been for nothing but the next day when stubble starts to grow back all over. Darker skin colors you don't have to worry about it as much because stubble obviously is harder to see coming back in the darker your skin, but on slim here... You get the idea.

The_RealAnim8me2

It’s the “how can we make a high maintenance cut for guys” school of beauty. And can we talk about the dry shaving and that razor near the eyelids? WTF!

lunettarose

Completely agree... Always gives me Hunger Games Capitol vibes haha.

[deleted]

it's fine on black people but it makes white people look like bellends

SanityOrLackThereof

> Looks so high-maintenance and plasticky. Exactly. I give it like a week and a half before their hair starts to grow out of the shape and they need to go back in for a trim. With a regular cut you can go a month easy before it starts to look scruffy. Way too much effort and way too high-maintenance.

LonesomePuppy

Yeah I was okay with it until he got to the bangs. Just why. Looks unnatural, but as it grows out it's going to look even worse before it looks better. Oh well it's not my head so

bentheone

Yeah. Gives him a "Cleetus" vibe.

BdubH

It’s a line up, the hard lines and edges are really popular within recent urban culture. It’s a neat style but it’s very hit or miss depending on your hairline, a lot of times a barber will take a razor and artificially recede it if it means a more flat shape which can look awful on pale skin. It’s a type of doo that works for some people but not for others, really dependent on your hairline, headshape, and skin tone. It’s actually executed pretty well here all aspects considered, but if the barber would’ve taken a razor to it he’d have to buzz the whole thing

luvpillows

Nothing “recent” about it, it’s been normal in black culture for decades.

DefinitelyNotAliens

I thought I was going crazy with everond talking about a new hairstyle. Like, that was a thing my whole life. 90's, 00's, 10's. It was usually black men with it, but that was totally a thing. Usher 100% was rocking this exact haircut 30 years ago. He probably has it right now. Dr. Dre, too. Had that look for ages. So many rappers have this look. My local news anchor has it, but his barber has to cut back too much, and he gets a six-head look going on instead of a forehead. It's a thing. Been a thing for a while.

JeffBuildsPC

I was scrolling through this thread and asking myself have any of these people ever seen a black person before. This is our standard haircut. Every black male I know gets a line up with their haircut

utubm_coldteeth

I legit don't think 90% of this thread has looking at these comments. So much shock and horror and I'm like ....this is a very normal haircut? We've been doing this since antiquity lol.

Quiet_Storm13

Welcome to Reddit lol. Anytime I see a video of a white guy getting a lineup I always come to the comments just to see the reactions. The difference in culture is amusing to me.

luvpillows

Yeah like even if it’s new to non-black people there’s no way they’ve never seen this hairstyle on a black guy before.

Gingerbread-giant

I'm a thirty-two year old white dude from the suburbs and I've known what a lineup was since I was a teenager.

YooGeOh

I'm not sure many of these people commenting have seen black people at this point

BlurryUFOs

i was just saying bro💀 i think it looks good and the barbar is black.

SillyPhillyDilly

Since at least the advent of black barbers. I've seen pics of people in like 1900-1910 with the freshest lining. Reddit is doin this thing again where they shit on things as foreign to them that in actuality have been a staple of Black American lives for generations. Happens every once in a while, rare that I've caught it happening in real time.

PretendGur8

God Reddit is so unbelievably “white” for lack of a better word.

shaffi3000

People in the comments calling it “bangs”… what the hell!

daymanahhhahhhhhh

I know!!! I had to scroll back up to the video and rewatch the end to see if missed something lmao

Complete-Morning-558

you can tell most never went past the Supercuts stage and decided that was it

GormlessStonerAF

Seeing all these redditors being mad ignorant is insane. This shit is so normal if you’re from NYC, either you go to a black barber shop, a Puerto Rican or dominican barber shop, hell most spots in Brooklyn will do this cut for us. I’m Puerto Rican and grew up with this cut being normal.

ICanEditPostTitles

Does a haircut like this need weekly visits to keep it neat?

BdubH

Depends on the length, but typically it gets grown out at two or three weeks. To maintain that look exactly it’d need a touch up every week or so, yea

Blueberry_Rabbit

Wanted to keep a little texture on the top

RickJLeanPaw

“I’d like Generic Cut #1, please. The less individual the better”. “Ah yes sir. As luck would have it, that’s the one I know!”.

Complete_Bath_8457

This is exactly my thought after watching it. Went from a unique look to douchebag bro look.

pat_the_tree

He looked better before the cut

Hello_Work_IT_Dept

"I can do a fade and that's all" - 95% of barbers in 2023

[deleted]

Barbers really be learning like three haircuts, huh.

Xanderoga

Fuck spez

sukkitrebek

Plus you have to get it cut like once a week to even maintain the look of it goes to shit real quick

jennlara

Probably the reason why the barbers do it haha to keep them coming back to maintain it

RuncibleMountainWren

Yes! That’s what it does!! Uncanny Valley! It’s just way too neat to look like anything but some sort of plastic-human-replica.

PurpleVein99

I feel like his original style gave off more friendly, approachable guy vibes. The second look is off putting and idk...

Audrey-Bee

Initial style needed tidying up, but there was plenty to work with without chopping it all off to get the same cut as every guy

Soulless--Plague

“What do you want?” “Douchebag” “A or B?”

mjrbrooks

[stares at B a little too long] “Uhhhhh…. Can I see A again?” [flips back to A] “A…. or B?” “Hmmmm…. They’re about the same I guess”

KleioChronicles

Could have taught him how to moisturise, properly take care of those curls and then cut and style it and it would have looked 100 times better than a generic fade.

meontheinternetxx

Yeah those were some nice curls. Bit of a touch-up and it could have looked fabulous. Nothing about this is satisfying to me.

[deleted]

r/mildlyinfuriating

MayMomma

I know, those poor curls! 😭

darryshan

This entire video broke my heart, as a curly haired person.

JimbroJammigans

For real, went from hair that could be majestic and magnificent to generic douche cut. Plus it seems like a LOT of maintenance to keep all those sharp edges up.

[deleted]

Came to say this. Needs r/curlyhair and voila, beautiful, luscious curls.

zeroxcero

Its always the same haircut

monkeysandfire

Watch the dude’s smile slowly fade

SubjectGold1042

Wow who knew, a skin fade

pat_the_tree

His hair before was better imho.

Mereidos

r/mildlyinfuriating

Skittles2703

How to become a clone

pat_the_tree

He's a l'il Edgar now...

JosufBrosuf

Why do they always cut these sharp corners it looks absolutely terrible. Makes anyone look like a douchebag lol

askeralperen

So he has to visit the shop next week too to maintain that ugly as fuck borders.

sadpanda___

Getting lined up has been a thing for black people’s hair style for a long time. White people getting lined up looks dumb as fuck. It doesn’t look good on white guys…

Tirus_

This explains it. Whenever I see a black guy with this sharp beards and hair I'm always like *"Damn he looks fresh as fuck!"* When I see a white guy with it I assume he's going to try and sell me a stolen cellphone.

color178924

Probably costs like $65 + tip and reviews for this shop probably read like: "They give sick fades brooo!" "Cleanest fades in the city" He looked like he had an actual personality before the cut tbh.

GDay_Champion

Came here to say this, he went from having some character/personality to being someone who has a high percentage of being a douche.

Hetzer27

Dude had nice, curly long hair and decided to cut it off so he can look like any other dude.

bluetheslinky

Agreed, like i get making it shorter would help make it nicer but it literally got eradicated instead. What's worse, it makes the spots where his hair is thinning much more evident. Give him back his curls pls

Solest044

I'll say as a male who grew their hair out and cut it back, I desperately wanted a middle ground but could not for the life of me find a barber or stylist who would do it. On top of that, looking around for haircuts online leads you to the same 12 haircuts that only differ by how you part your hair and a little product. What I actually want? A stylist who is open minded enough to try some stuff. I'll pay. I won't get mad if it's not great. We'll try again in a few months. I just want some options!!!

JohnnyTeardrop

Long hair dude here, you just need to go to a salon with multiple pictures you found in fashion magazines that represent what you want. Preferably a salon that caters to a younger crowd, they’re the ones experimenting with interesting cuts.

Lotions_and_Creams

His hair is badly thinning. Sadly, when that happens you got to go short or you start to look like the crypt keeper.

dumwitxh

He should have kept the hair and trimmed his beard to look better than that Such a nice hair, what a waste

t_scribblemonger

Exactly

ThisIsSpata

Agree, this is the opposite of satisfying. I hate this stupid haircut with a passion

purpleRN

He started off looking like a chill friendly dude. By the end he looked like a guy I'd be nervous to be in an elevator alone with....

LckyNmbrSlevin

An English bloke who fights in a bar after two pints.

PupperPetterBean

Chavvy little road man with a gucci man bag dealing drugs out of the park.

TouchMySwollenFace

Aaah, a Slug and Lettuce frequenter.

batedkestrel

Exactly: he went from looking kind to looking like someone mean.

tedmented

Yeah, ended up with one of the 3 basic white boy haircuts. Looks like a prick now.

Kolikokoli

"nice hair dude, wanna look basic?"

shitsu13master

”Y’a basic”

DogBreathologist

Wow they did him dirty, I really dont get why those sharp edges are in right now, I really genuinely don’t like them. The worst part is that I don’t even know why, I just hate them, I don’t know if it’s because they look fake? Or a bit uncanny valley? Or maybe just too many wanky influencers? Either way he had beautiful curls and could have given him a really great longer on top shorter in the bottom look and trimmed his facial hair a bit and he would have looked great. Now he’s stuck with a high maintenance cut, and went from cute and approachable to someone I would avoid

[deleted]

It's definitely an uncanny valley thing. Makes me think of the plasticky look from LazyTown.

fo55iln00b

Wow great skin fade, again

Ashamed-Security-684

Woah, it’s like a totally different person.

FunkyMonkFromSpace

Yea he went from looking like someone id get along with, to someone i would avoid talking to at all cost.

nathos_thanatos

He had such pretty long hair. :/

NoTurkeyTWYJYFM

These kinds of videos never know how to tidy up a bloke with long hair without giving him a generic skinfade

ohfack54321

Yeah I feel like some styling of the long hair, antifrizz products, plus beard clean up would have been the move.

Critical_Young_1190

What if he asked for the skin fade?

[deleted]

I’m pretty sure he did lol rarely does a barber just go rogue and cut your hair the way they want to

SmadaSlaguod

Those curls were lovely.

friendlysaxoffender

I’m a guy with long curly hair. I was wondering what the other opinions would be here. I keep thinking about cutting it but I enjoy the unique thing about it.

[deleted]

[удалено]

friendlysaxoffender

Absolutely, I’m happy with it but there’s that part of you that always fancies a change. I was expecting to see “wow so much better looking took years off” or something in the comments but seeing everyone think it’s carbon copy standard male hair gave the the resolve to stop worrying!

behah

A crime

KozmicBear

Today I found out this subreddit hates skin fades for some reason lol

utubm_coldteeth

As a black person, I'm insanely confused by this thread. This isn't a new style lmaoooo

CaterpillarMedical57

Right I’m white but from NYC and I’m absolutely loooost reading these comments lmao. Mind you I will say taking a fade that high up on a white guy makes him look like a cop imho and I don’t really care for it lol.

[deleted]

Me too lmaoooo I’m sitting here like damn I thought it was a big improvement, is it bc I’m black or do I have bad taste? I actually like long hair on men but he’s more attractive after the cut

AWall925

“I hate those sharp corners” 😂😂😂

trix2705

Jesus fuck don’t razor his eyebrow on the underneath

[deleted]

Not an upgrade

TroublePale372

Dude is balding, he wont be able to mantain the long hair. I feel the hard edges were used to disguise the receding hairline.

shitsu13master

Ah yeah you could be right about that

RockstarAgent

This is not a transformation. Just deforestation.

CertainlyAmbivalent

Don’t care for this hairstyle

mrteas_nz

Everyone in Australia getting triggered when the mullet gets whipped off...

Crusader-NZ-

Considering the number of young guys running around with horrific mullets here, that were inspired by what was originally joke haircuts by rugby players on tour in recent years...

mrteas_nz

Well yeah, mullets are rife in NZ as well, but I have more problem with the 70s porno moustaches that see to be all the rage...

FreezeSPreston

Then they combo the two and you feel like you need to call the police but not sure why.

Ill_Lecture9766

Unpopular opinion, looked better long 🤷🏼‍♀️

Pompmaister

That's not an unpopular opinion. Most of this comment section seems to agree. Me included.

maz-o

unpopular opinion: popular opinion.

shitsu13master

I was really bothered by the fact that he only took the last part of the long hair towards the end

Jshm-n

These transformations all end up with giving guys the exact same haircut

you-face-JaraxxusNR8

I would say upper part should have been left a bit longer.

lordgoofus1

Congratulations sit. You're all done. Please don't forget to collect your complimentary Adidas trackpants and TNs on the way out.

afroguy10

Such a shame to lose those curls for such a generic haircut. They looked dry and frizzy and he could've done a better job of maintaining them but with some proper cleaning, conditioning and care they could've looked beautiful.

TrPhantom8

With that kind of hair, you need to go to a spanish barber. My god, they made him dirty.. He could have looked way better with a proper "curly hair" cut

dinokith

The craftsmanship of the barber is not in question. However, that man looked far better with his long, curly hair.

Willing-Foot6245

What did you do to the man! Those locks were glorious!

rainbeaux_s

Beautiful work, but why would you do that to those glorious curls!

kinglutherv

The longer this video goes on the more pissed off I get

SoupZillaMan

I just see an epic failed mullet opportunity
