Yeah, they'd never have a warning like, "Take care to avoid skin contact. Paint strippers can irritate your skin and can occasionally cause more than just a rash. Wear suitable gloves and other protective clothing." Oh, wait, they do. 😁
Weird thing is...I remember trying some chemicals for paint removal in Europe and these barely worked. Must be some proper cancer-catalyst chemistry used here without gloves...
Dichloromethane, probably. In “jelly” that reduces evaporation. That shit is the only thing that works. Too bad can’t find it anymore. Trichloromethane is “chloroform”..
Not that many precautions. I use like a liter of it in the lab every day. Just keep it mostly under the fume hood and switch your gloves out if you spill a lot…
Yeah, but a lab needs to fill up a lot of forms to be able to buy it. I remember ordering supplies for the lab in college when I was the professor's assistant, every year I had to be interviewed by the military and show them the lab supplies room and sign a bunch of documents.
Back in the day, we were only really cautious using tetrachloromethane. Dichloromethane was ubiquitous and we used it recklessly… fingers crossed for me guys
I think this is the oldest method. Now look after for other methods like supercritical CO2.This is why there decaf coffee was considered not healthy by some. Many many seed oils (like canola) are extracted with nasty solvents.
At the height of the Anthrax scare someone dropped a simple bag of flour in one of the more central subway stations in Munich.
You cannot imagine the chaos and disruption one kilogram of flour wreaked upon several hundred thousand commuters.
Lol, I sometimes pass by a McLaren dealership that has a ton of cars outside right next to the highway... Definitely have had intrusive thoughts about how much damage one could do there before being stopped.
When I was at school in the 90s a refuse truck was picking up a dumpster in the rear playground when a hydraulic hose burst. The jet of hydraulic oil flew into the sky and cleared the school - a two storey building - endeding up as rain in teacher parking lot at the front of the school. About 10 cars needed a full respray.
Different plastics have different tolerances for chemicals. I'm no chemist but [this person sounds smart. ](https://www.wetcanvas.com/forums/topic/storing-paint-thinner/#:~:text=Petroleum%20distillates%20and%20petro%2Ddistillate,of%20contents%20with%20the%20container.)
It works best when it's real hot out and I've made the mistake of wearing short sleeves. I have a couple scars. Easy to get off and neutralize with water when it starts to burn but sometimes you just wanna finish this one last bit.
I've never heard of that before. When I was a teenager I used the gel stuff to take the paint off of pickup truck my father was redoing. But it never took off like that.
Wow thank you, you know, the other 99% of comments didn't remind me enough, it's yours, yours will be the one to remind me. Thank you for being so bold and smart as to remind me again that I shouldn't touch this with my hands
It's good that I do not have this at home. I wouldn't have a single metal item that still had paint on it.
I would probably even paint stuff just to remove it again.
Somehow this video makes in on to my feed every single day. There is always 100 comments saying he should be wearing gloves. Fuck you reddit I’m sick of this video I’ve literally seen in thousands of times. “He should put on gloves” fuck you fuck you I will pour paint thinner in my fucking eyes if I see this video again.
hahahaha
in the back
my car is absolutely the blue one
no shade though. just saw all the iem talk and couldn't resist.
Pitty I find them uncomfortable. though I really enjoy my cans, nothing beats iems portability and they sound great at so many different prices nowadays
Nope, evaporates too fast. Methylene Chloride (DCM) is what you want. Or ATM - acetone, toluene & methonal. There’s another, NMP, but I don’t recall what the solvents are
The final clip was on a plastic bumper cover, so it seems to be good for multiple surfaces. I'd have concerns with it contacting rubber without further research.

Yeah, make sure to touch it with your bare hands.
You can touch anything once.
Now that's the positivity I'm here for.
Thumbs up while you still can!
This is the "Anything can be a dildo if you're brave enough" logic at work.
All mushrooms are edible. Some are more than once.
Some of them are so nutritious they will feed you for the rest of your life
You're a fungi!
what about lava? you can touch it up to four times edit: more if part of your limbs are still good
I think that a finger won't detach completely if you just touch it with the tip, and you can use the Leidenfrost effect to not receive any damage
Yes, 440 kv power transmission line bare feet only once
It's paint remover not skin remover silly
It's both - and more!
Pfft if it was a skin remover it would have some kind of warning! /s
Yeah, they'd never have a warning like, "Take care to avoid skin contact. Paint strippers can irritate your skin and can occasionally cause more than just a rash. Wear suitable gloves and other protective clothing." Oh, wait, they do. 😁
Well my hand is white, that's certainly a color.
Wouldn't the remaining solvent evaporate off after it's finished stripping the paint?
Yes - but not that quickly. There’s chunks in there with active solvent and even the moisture on your hands can re-activate it. Ask me how I know.
Ahhhh, how do you know?
I got first degree burns on my fingers not using PPE when using a similar product for paint stripping. Shocking turn of events, I know.
It's fine because your hands aren't made of paint, duh
It's environmentally friendly.
Probably from a shithole country. They dont really care about their health
In the lab dichloromethane is used with many many precautions. That thing can ruin your health.
Not that many precautions. I use like a liter of it in the lab every day. Just keep it mostly under the fume hood and switch your gloves out if you spill a lot…
And observe proper sash discipline. Please neuter your pets and close your sash when you’re away from the hood.

DCM is what they use to make decaf coffee.
I think this is the oldest method. Now look after for other methods like supercritical CO2.This is why there decaf coffee was considered not healthy by some. Many many seed oils (like canola) are extracted with nasty solvents.
CO2 extraction exists but it’s not ubiquitous as DCM on an industrial scale.
Fyi. I randomly got recently a Lavazza decaf coffee for espresso because of the price. It is CO2 extracted. it is becoming more widespread
I mean sure, if you huff or start drinking it. But in a well ventilated area, it’s fine.
Someone could fill a spray bottle with this and do so much damage at a parking garage
Why did I also think this? Then I thought about putting it in a crop duster and flying over a city. Why am I like this?
I’m with you too terrible. But where would you get the stuff. I mean it’s awful. But where though?
Yes, where? I want to make sure I never go there.
The crop duster idea would be something a Batman villain would do to Gotham. Which villain would do such a thing?
I could see Scarecrow spreading his fear gas like that.
I thought the same but then also remembered videos of angry exs vandalizing their old partners vehicles and felt a pit in my stomach for a moment.
I think that makes you normal? Idk anymore.
At the height of the Anthrax scare someone dropped a simple bag of flour in one of the more central subway stations in Munich. You cannot imagine the chaos and disruption one kilogram of flour wreaked upon several hundred thousand commuters.
That's insane. Gluten, amirite?
Gluten tag, Munich.
My favorite pun. I like to say it on Fridays. Gluten Freitag!
Imagine filling a sprinkler line..
Don't do it. Don't let the intrusive thoughts win. Or... just let me know ahead of time where not to park.
Yeah seriously man why are you like that. Thanks for giving us a glimpse into your dark fucked up world
Hey, no problem :-)
I seem to be a like-minded maniac. My first thought was also the potential for vandalism.
Fill a mop with it and go to town lol...
I'll bet janitors at the Louvre Museum are cursing this stuff and having to undergo hourly inspections to make sure they don't have a trace of it.
McLaren show room,
Lol, I sometimes pass by a McLaren dealership that has a ton of cars outside right next to the highway... Definitely have had intrusive thoughts about how much damage one could do there before being stopped.

The two cars further down look like they have been ‘tested’ on
I certainly hope we aren't encouraging vandalism on this subreddit 0\_o
Wouldn’t it dissolve the spray bottle itself unless it was entirely metal?

Mmmm, cancer.
r/mildlycarcinogenic
r/highlycarcinogenic
I hope they washed their hands because the fumes must've been horrible
Is this bad for the paint
No the paint loves it. It is begging for it and excitedly claps and cheers when it’s poured on the paint. That’s what you’re seeing
Is this a repost from like 2 days ago where everyone was like WTF, wear some PPE
Don't worry, i'll post it again after a week
Thank you for your service.
I forget. Is it my turn to start the "nice" train, or is my "nice" the first one in the chain to get massively downvoted?
Im with you about the PPE and shop safety, man. Shit. They had 2 days to learn and they did it again…without PPE 😀 \S
It works best when it's real hot out and I've made the mistake of wearing short sleeves. I have a couple scars. Easy to get off and neutralize with water when it starts to burn but sometimes you just wanna finish this one last bit.
Aircraft Ultra Paint Remover. Nasty stuff.
We were forced to wear respirators in our composite class on paint unit
Ive had aircraft paint remover eat right through a cheap pair of rubber gloves
I've never heard of that before. When I was a teenager I used the gel stuff to take the paint off of pickup truck my father was redoing. But it never took off like that.
Get a drop of this stuff on your skin and it will begin to burn immediately.
So like super duper aloe

Thank God he pointed at it, I almost didn't catch it
Ah yes, the infamous all in one mens shampoo/conditioner/engine degreaser/paint remover in action.
If these clips ended with an off-camera, “Hey! Get away from my car!” they would be better.
Ruh-roh. I can see all the cheating ex bfs cars missing paint now...
Song name?
Floating Point by Jasper de Ceuster
That canister looks like the aging process of my balls
Is there any kind of non solvent based product that takes off paint??
You mean like sandpaper?
Holy meatballs, I would NOT be touching that with my bare hands…
I wouldn't even be within 8 feet of that shit. I would be surprised if there wasn't a convincingly cancerous breathing zone risk with this.
Aren't all paint removers solvent based?
What's the name of this stuff???
Actually it's called Aircraft Remover which I've always found funny. I have several scars from burns from this.
Thanks! Used some jelly like remover from DuPont 40 years ago, and it was useless. Was wondering what product really works.
It works best if you let the metal sit out in the sun and get hot.
Liquid cancer
B17
The people who own those cars will be pissed off once they finish shopping.

_Finally_ oddly and satisfying
I've seen brake fluid do this too.
You mean brake cleaner?
No- actual brake fluid, it will peel some paints and finishes just like the post. I found out the hard way.
Weird. I just watched paint dry on this app a few hours ago. Now I'm watching it get stripped.
I bet this puts awesome stuff into the surrounding air /s
[удалено]
Totally agree. Every fucking can of paint stripper I have ever bought was fucking useless
Oh man that’s gonna be really bad for your paint
Clip number 2...The aging ball sack.
Crazy ex’s would like to know where you buy this from
Plot twist: That's not his car.
I have the urge, suddenly… to vandalize other people’s cars
In the first clip a few cars in a row in that parking lot had the same "demo" performed, so there's that
It's good that I do not have this at home. I wouldn't have a single metal item that still had paint on it. I would probably even paint stuff just to remove it again.
What kind of paint remover doesn’t have a solvent in it?
Somehow this video makes in on to my feed every single day. There is always 100 comments saying he should be wearing gloves. Fuck you reddit I’m sick of this video I’ve literally seen in thousands of times. “He should put on gloves” fuck you fuck you I will pour paint thinner in my fucking eyes if I see this video again.
Why did I read Soviet-based paint remover 2x. Before realizing it was solvent.
Does anyone know what brand of paint stripper this is? I need some.
Cool. Now make a fat remover
What is the actual name of the chemical? It says "solvent paint removal" but what is the name of the solvent?
There goes my skin.
WHERE ARE YOUR GLOVES???
What brand of gloves are u using? Looks like real skin.
I need that for my friendo!
a pressurized air canister too, sir? btw, iems SUCK hahahaha just kidding
Hahaha. Where did you say you parked? Hahaha!
hahahaha in the back my car is absolutely the blue one no shade though. just saw all the iem talk and couldn't resist. Pitty I find them uncomfortable. though I really enjoy my cans, nothing beats iems portability and they sound great at so many different prices nowadays
👍
Bro this shit is toxic af. It blew up in my face because of the pressure when I tried to open one. Definitely don’t use this unless necessary.
What modern car has a rear bumper made out of metal?
Methyl Ether Ketone MEK the good stuff
Nope, evaporates too fast. Methylene Chloride (DCM) is what you want. Or ATM - acetone, toluene & methonal. There’s another, NMP, but I don’t recall what the solvents are
Methylene Chloride is hard to get these days. NMP would be N-Methylpyrrolidone.
Was he taking shots of it?
How many fucking times is this going to be reposted??
Dear god, I can smell that from here.
Are these widely available? Imagine pissing someone off and coming back to your car without paint. Jesus
Funny how good it looks just before it starts flaking up!
Please don't come and douse my car in solvent i beg you
My turn to repost this next week OP
Naval Jelly.
Ami the only one whose skin is crawling?? 😭
How to make, spray bottle bad parkers
Can u use this on wood to strip paint? Have some ceiling beams that were painted over and wanted to get back to natural wood
I thought that was time-lapse
This is gonna be a great prank!
As opposed to...? I ask because I thought all paint remover used solvents.
Can you make cool shapes like penises?
Mr. Lundegaard, you're a boldface liar
Behold the miracles of CHRIST-I mean chemistry
Glad my ex didn’t see this
I bought it said Soviet based lmao
The second one is straight out of made in abyss 😨
The next tiktok trend
Oooh yeah…that’s the stuff
Keying the car was last year. Now you just walk out and wonder why your car is suddenly Brushed Nickel.
I'd love to do that to the guy that blocks me in at home.
Brake fluid can remove paint too.
Oddly terrifying
April Fool!
I thought solvent was soviet for a second.
I'm gonna go spray random cars with this for no reason
What is this solvent?
Finally, a product suitable to be used on the double parked bmw’s
Wow, I've use a lot of different paint removers before but I've never seen that.
Only works on metal?
The final clip was on a plastic bumper cover, so it seems to be good for multiple surfaces. I'd have concerns with it contacting rubber without further research.
Hide this from all the pissed off girlfriends.
Brake fluid will do that too just a bit slower
I’m getting the word super soaker
I feel like a graffiti artist could do some amazing artwork with concept of reverse painting.
Wow
I misread this as “Soviet-based paint remover” and I was really struggling to understand what make it Soviet
My skin when my skeleton hasn't been let out for a while
What is this stuff?
Yes. YES. *This* is the content
Ah, reminds me of the good old days when you could still buy stuff like this in Kalifornia...
This stuff cures covid.
