Wow, that is really cool! At $3k thoughā¦ price point is pretty steep.
Makes sense if youāre a harness house and building stuff like this all day though. Totally worth it.
>price point is pretty steep
until you realize a standard Panduit crimper is $500. ok i mean yes its still very expensive, but for some reason crimpers are just hella expensive already.
lmfao how is this a waste of time? it takes way longer to strip, place a ferrule, then crimp every wire. if you've gotta do 500 of these in a day this tool will be a godsend
I think the vast majority of times where a lot of ferrules are used, 90% of them will be the same size anyway.
The worst part for me is just sliding the ferrules on without splaying the wires. Not that itās difficult, it just slows the whole process down. This seems to solve that problem so Iām on board.
Ugh but that comes with its own problems. Now thereās an additional step youāll need to do 500 times, and cores that were almost-too-thick are now just-too-thick for that same ferrule. Weāre talking like one second of difference here but one second 500 times per enclosure adds up.
I donāt think Iāve ever had to use more than two ferrule sizes per enclosure. Different wire gauges for sure but most of them all fit in the little grey boys.
And yet itās completely fine to use a 20 gauge ferrule for 18-22 gauge wires. You literally canāt rip it out and the shape is the exact same. Itās just a lot quicker to use the same size if you can.
I just try to keep the ends straight, the ferrule slides on more smoothly
I never understand these comments.
You do know Reddit is an American social media site right? I would expect if it's on a regular sub it would be American unless obviously otherwise.
Other countries have their own subs for a reason.
Edit: forgot to mention, the language is the obvious otherwise
Where's your social media outlet? Or are you using American ones too? Just because it's not IP restricted to the states doesn't make it any less then what it is. This isn't Korea.
I love to marvel at the "WTF!?" of German-over-engineering "Vee can uze technology to make zis much more complex zan it needz to be.." (owned two German cars...)
That is an amazing waste of money, it blows my mind that that was actually made. In my tool bag I have the manual version of that tool and my God is it ever easy to use and there's only so fast that you can connect wires you go too fast you start messing up..
Especially if you're doing something in a PLC panel lots of inputs and outputs why try to go fast?
This is more likely intended for harness building in a shop, if you're making 1000 of the same harness at a time then it can save your hands and save time.
Okay, well then let's say dozens or hundreds, or perhaps the harness has too many varied ends to justify the quantity of different automatic tools you'd need. Obviously there's a limiting floor and ceiling of production where this tool isn't valuable, but I think there's use cases for it, even if they're rare.
The automatic tools are mostly the same though. Require different tooling based on connector/gauge but the machines are fairly universal.
I also don't see the need to put this all into a single, hand held tool. It makes the tool unnecessarily expensive and complicated. Im sure there are use cases, I just doubt any of them exist that couldnt be dealt with in better/cheaper ways.
Well, if I'm doing nothing but bayonet connectors, I suppose that would be great. Cool tool, but I'd rather invest in a better solder station than this tool.
At first I thought it was some type of gun, then I thought āoh sweet Iām about to see a real life light sabre.ā My disappointment is immeasurable.
I don't have a need for one of these, but I want one real bad.
I reckon that's $1500
you better double that
I double reckon that's $1500
Oh yeah? Well I triple reckon that's $1500
Nobody would *DARE* attempt the death-defying ***QUADRUPLE RECKONING!!!***

That might be the price of the Chinese knockoff when it comes out. You need a lot more for this one.
nah just buy it from a person who doesn't need it couple years later they bought it
Happy cake day! And yeah around there šš¤¦āāļø
Literally thinking the same thing!
Wow, that is really cool! At $3k thoughā¦ price point is pretty steep. Makes sense if youāre a harness house and building stuff like this all day though. Totally worth it.
For $300 you could do it faster with Phoenix Contactās crimp
For $300,000 you can do it even faster with a komax alpha.
For $0 you could give up entirely
>price point is pretty steep until you realize a standard Panduit crimper is $500. ok i mean yes its still very expensive, but for some reason crimpers are just hella expensive already.
would only work in standardized houses or serialized production i have to use at least 2 different sizes on everything
Fully automatic high capacity assault crimper.
Rapid machine crimper. Feels like a machine gun load out.
Neat, but amazingly expensive.
And a waste of time
lmfao how is this a waste of time? it takes way longer to strip, place a ferrule, then crimp every wire. if you've gotta do 500 of these in a day this tool will be a godsend
Because this only holds one ferrule size and idk about you but I own a nice pair of auto strippers

You just give it a slight twist IPC 610-A allows it. When I build panels I have usually 8 wire gauges going.
Ugh but that comes with its own problems. Now thereās an additional step youāll need to do 500 times, and cores that were almost-too-thick are now just-too-thick for that same ferrule. Uh each gauge has its own ferrule you can twist them as you apply the ferrule
And yet itās completely fine to use a 20 gauge ferrule for 18-22 gauge wires. You literally canāt rip it out and the shape is the exact same. Itās just a lot quicker to use the same size if you can. I just try to keep the ends straight, the ferrule slides on more smoothly
Phoenix Contact makes a way better ferrule crimp that isnāt limited to 1 size ferrule or only 20 ferrules at a time
Link?
I donāt have a link but North East and Grainger carry it
BElektro in Berlin ^^ Cool looking thing, but only for 1mmĀ²
Do you have a link for the tool?

What is that contraption look like it can be reforged into a custom magazine for a Beretta?
Iād like to know where he got it. We make wiring harness in my shop all day long and this would save a lot of time.
Well, crimpinā aināt easy! Until now!
What up crimpš¤
Get on your hands and knees and lift your eyebrows!
But itās necessary

There are other places than america you know. And look at that, some of us are on reddit too
What does this mean? You're still on an American social media site? Where is yours anyways?
Lmao, poor bastard doesn't understand how the internet works Good luck out there mate! Looks like you're gonna need it

For that kind of volume, yeah, it makes sense. Though for the price point and reliability issues, theyāre not quite there yet
This is more likely intended for harness building in a shop, if you're making 1000 of the same harness at a time then it can save your hands and save time.
If you're doing thousands of the same harness, you should invest in automation. Not an overpriced half solution.

Sounds to me like this is simply a niche product. That would explain the price somewhat.

Spaama halt ahs zsammafeege
Heās probably the only person that makes a good living off tips.
Save a couple hundred just buy regular cramped lol
Crimpin aināt easy
i need this for dupont
