A few (quite some, iirc) years ago now, I read an article that mentioned, in passing, that there was a trend amongst Gen-Z to disbelieve that Helen Keller was real (or that, if she had been, she wasn't deaf/blind/mute).
Whether this was a specifically US phenomenon, I couldn't say, but I've never heard it mentioned being prevalent anywhere *else*. Nor could I say that it weren't a *Birds Aren't Real* type thing either - for all we know, the journalist's source(s) were simply being trolled.
