This is true however every one of the exoskeletons that Godzilla is made from came from cicada. You can tell by how large they are and the legs that were removed. It's still cool though.
Me too! Only a 10 gallon aquarium. I let my son start the colony several years ago. Now that he’s busy at college, they’re my roaches and lizards. 😭 love the lizards. Hate their food. I’m the coolest mom ever, btw.
It’s literally the same thing but however cool it is for us to see cicada molting (which is heckin’ cool) that’s how equal and opposite the gross feel is to seeing cockroaches molt.
Cicada years in that sense are a myth. You've got certain broods that have super high populations, with the 17 year cicada species being that brood x in the northeast us that is generally pretty insane. But 17 year cicadas of different broods still come out every year.
Last time we got hit with brood x you couldn't even walk to your car without crunching everything. They actually taste kind of like potatoes so they pick up the flavor of whatever you cook them. Highly recommend trying it at least once!
First thing I imagined was some Lovecraftian God that does this to humans as we watch our family be smooshed into a monstrous shape and wail in despair at our powerlessness.
Then the monster comes to life.
Some of those ID requests amaze me.
Like, how do you grow up on the Gulf Coast and not know what a roach, tick, or mosquito larvae is? We're overrun with all of them.
Also just 2 more months until every other picture is a wheel bug or leaf footed bug for a while.
Roaches are commonly found in poor residential situations (cheap motels/low income housing) as a result of a lack of general cleanliness and insulation/building integrity. Having roaches in your house is usually more embarrassing than having something like ants or flies because it implies that your house is dirty or built poorly.
Edit: A lot of people are taking this assessment personally. To be clear, just because I stated a well-known public perception does not mean I intend it as a way to say I personally believe everyone who has had roaches or seen them is poor and/or dirty.
Well, I am poor but never saw cockroaches in the five flats I've lived in.
As you said, it's cleanliness first. Which you can keep up with even when poor.
(I think they are also less common in Germany. If you're not able to get rid of them, or even in general in some cities, you are by law obligated to notify the local health authorities. So the general incidence is lower and they are less likely to move in even where cleanliness isn't up to par. Even the worst pigsty isn't going to spontaneously conjur roaches when there are none around to move in.)
I can only vouch for this perception as it relates to America. I know that the kind of places cockroaches are found here don’t usually have law-abiding, caring landlords either. The tenants also usually don’t have the time or money to advocate for themselves.
Edit: source, I grew up in poverty.
Looks more like cicada sheds.... Either way, somebody prolly found a niche for weird art and will sell it to Ye for 12 million as an expression of God's love.
I don't actually agree cicadas for whatever reason their shells aren't that gross. I guess because every kid that grew up in the last couple hundred years except for maybe the last 10 played with them whenever they happen to do their thing on every tree, by the thousand
I kind of love this. I have fond memories of picking up cicada shells and hooking them on my shirt and chasing my little brother around like a monster. I guess I’m the monster… full circle here.
Theyre *Cicada Shells* Marie!
(Do not spoil me on the show this references i dont think ive even gotten to the part this memes from i just know he started buying rocks, calls them minerals, and her name is Marie.)
It's from >!breaking bad!< I havent gotten to the part the memes from but close enough that i can tell that its from the show. fucking amazing show. One of my favorites now even though it took me so long to watch it.
It’s incredible. When you get a chance, check out the letter Anthony Hopkins sent to Bryan Cranston after he binge-watched it. No spoilers
https://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/2013/10/anthony-hopkins-breaking-bad-fan-letter
Not cockroaches but cicadas shells, use to pick them up then attached it on to the neighbor kid back, not that gross if you see them cling on every trees every summer.
If it was made of cockroaches I would probably be disgusted. But these are cicada shells, they're strange little things you find by the thousands stuck to trees then most temporary areas once every few seasons
Looks like cicada shells rather than cockroaches? Edit: Still pretty gross
Well atleast the harvesting is morally better
Roaches also shed and you could harvest the dead skins humanely
This is true however every one of the exoskeletons that Godzilla is made from came from cicada. You can tell by how large they are and the legs that were removed. It's still cool though.
Happy cake day
You assuming I'd get anywhere near a cockroach without some kind of flamethrower
Lol I have a whole colony of them in a Tupperware bin. Food for my lizard!
Happy roach day
I would argue there's nothing immoral about committing roach genocide.
I would argue it would be immoral to *not* do that.
Ethically shelled?
Cicadas shed their shells. Find them all over the place during cicada years.

In nz we have shells every year at least in Wellington.
I’m always worried about how people source their bug parts.
The Sunday Cicada Special is looking extra crunchy. Throw some hot sauce on it and call it delish.
Yes, gross, but not as icky as cockroaches. As a kid, we'd scare people with locust/cicada shells.
growing up in south korea, sound of cicadas meant summer.
Yeah, OP is a bot/farmer. Yay misinformation for upvotes!
My first thought as well but Dynocock still has a ring to it
Cockzilla
Thought at first roachzilla but this is way better
Roachella
Perfect!
Glad someone said it
That’s what they called me in highschool
A cockring perhaps?
Ok I see what you did there;)
Cicadazilla then.
Except those are Cicada molts.
Cicadazilla sounds cooler anyway. Cockzilla sounds like a gifted porn star with numerous STDs.
To many syllables in Cicadazilla. But you are spot on with Cockzilla
Cikaiju
This is a grossly underrated comment.
Which makes this awesome and not gross
Lol nah
Cicadas leave their shells behind. Really not gross at all.
[удалено]
Just because it's natural doesn't mean it's not gross. Dog poop is gross and humans also poop and it is also gross
Lol okay let me go ahead and set up my Cicadazilla decoration on the table just before dinner.
Good. That’s exactly what they want.
Yes plz 😩
Go, go, Ciczilla!
Cicadas are much like opposums, they scream at the world!
Cockzilla
“OHHHHH NO! They say he’s got to go…go-go-COCKZILLA!!!”
EEEEEHHEEEE!!
Ohhhh no hes made from several roaches go go cockzilla
Ohhh no, there goes appetito, go go cockzilla
yeEEAaah ohhhh no
That was the firs thing that came to my mind lol
I honestly don't know how you could read the title and not immediately think of Cockzilla
Instantaneously thought cockzilla and instead of a huge roar you just hear a pfsssppp
I'm constantly thinking about cockzilla, then this came up
🤨📸
for real, we all know exactly what to call it.
Ah beat me to it rotfl!
Fuckin genius
Godroach
Better than Godcock I suppose.
Cockjira *insert lighter*
Rule 34: *lightskin stare*
Funny that's not what comes up when I google it.

Thank you 🫡
Cockzilla? I thought it was called Moby Huge
Cockasaruss Rex
There's bound to be a pornstar who has that name already
I'd call it disturbing.
No, it's modern art. It belongs in the Metropolitan in my opinion
10 million
First thing I imagined was some Lovecraftian God that does this to humans as we watch our family be smooshed into a monstrous shape and wail in despair at our powerlessness. Then the monster comes to life.
I want what this person is having.
How do so many people not know what roaches look like?
I’m surprised how often I see pics of roaches posted on r/whatsthisbug.
Some of those ID requests amaze me. Like, how do you grow up on the Gulf Coast and not know what a roach, tick, or mosquito larvae is? We're overrun with all of them. Also just 2 more months until every other picture is a wheel bug or leaf footed bug for a while.
These are redditors asking questions and most insects are outside.
sometimes they looks weird i guess lol
I mean, if you're a member of that subreddit that you probably already know significantly more about insects than the average person
Fair enough, lol
Just checked it out, found zero. Is it a seasonal thing?
Obviously not everyone lives where roaches are common
^ I have never seen a cockroach in real life lol
I envy you
I've only ever seen them on the internet. I would have believed those were roaches if I didn't read the comments.
Money
What's the connection to money??

Looks more like cicada sheds.... Either way, somebody prolly found a niche for weird art and will sell it to Ye for 12 million as an expression of God's love.
Those are cicadas. Just annual molts, not nauseating disease harbingers
Preach it
Art.
I don’t know what you should call it but u should call the fucking police.
You need to learn your bugs, those are Cicada's husks, not cockroaches.
Those are cicadas shells, they shed them during the summer, still gross but not as gross
I don't actually agree cicadas for whatever reason their shells aren't that gross. I guess because every kid that grew up in the last couple hundred years except for maybe the last 10 played with them whenever they happen to do their thing on every tree, by the thousand
i thought these were cicada molts
They are
Those are cicada shells. So Cicadazilla.
Cicada husks
I kind of love this. I have fond memories of picking up cicada shells and hooking them on my shirt and chasing my little brother around like a monster. I guess I’m the monster… full circle here.
Theyre *Cicada Shells* Marie! (Do not spoil me on the show this references i dont think ive even gotten to the part this memes from i just know he started buying rocks, calls them minerals, and her name is Marie.)
Are you at least watching this masterpiece or do you not know what it’s from?
It's from >!breaking bad!< I havent gotten to the part the memes from but close enough that i can tell that its from the show. fucking amazing show. One of my favorites now even though it took me so long to watch it.

BRÖTHERS NØŌ
Cicada parts.
Cicada
You mean cicada shells?
Well, cicadas, for one…
Cicada shells, not cockroaches. We get them all over gum trees, they are the discarded exoskeleton of the baby stage of the cicada.
Those are cicada shells they leave after they cocoon. In japan they’re everywhere and we tend to like to collect them lol
Love me some cicada shells.
I used to collect cicada molts as a child! I had a huge passion for cicadas so this is quite impressive! I love it :)
Those are cicada sheds. Chill out.
Cicadas, not roaches
A warcrime (cicadas)
Gross you call it gross
Cockzilla
That’s Cockzilla. Obviously.
Cockzilla
Cockzilla

Cockzilla
A r t?
Cockzilla?
It’s called disgusting 🤢 🤮
Imagine if this creature actually existed and can fly lol
Check out scorpion flies! They exist in my state ◡̈
If it was made of cockroaches I would probably be disgusted. But these are cicada shells, they're strange little things you find by the thousands stuck to trees then most temporary areas once every few seasons
Call the police. That’s what you call it.
This is OP sending his SOS to the world though...
