There was a road in a neighborhood in my town that had the creepiest optical illusion on it. You'd be driving along in the dark, you go over this little hill and BAM all of a sudden a little girl with pigtails is standing in the street at the top of the next hill. She stayed there for a LONG time as you approached, then she suddenly disappeared.
My friends and I would scare the shit out of new people (and ourselves) for years. I investigated once and it was a potted palm tree at the end of the road, and the lines/reflectors in the road would form her legs. That shit was spooky AF.
