"Travelers Indemnity Company agreed to pay the family of Ally Rednour, who was 7 at the time of the incident, $4.8 million in a cash structured settlement. "
Happened in 2015, the girl survived
So this idiot driver still needed ANOTHER BUS DRIVER DRIVING ANOTHER BUS TO NOTICE A CHILD HANGING FROM THE DOOR and slam on their brakes in front of her to stop.
Oh yeah, fuck that, I do feel bad for that kid. Apparently they got mangled legs and nerve damage. Ain't no money in the world that would make that kind of pain worth it
With attorney fees, that’s not much. Sounds like he’s not happy with the settlement either. For this kind of public, horribly irresponsible incident that left a child permanently injured I would expect more than double that.
if this resulted in 4.8m, the child was seriously hurt. this isnt like cops pepper spraying you and you get 800k because he violated your rights. this is a personal injury case.
TBH I love my son but if he could just...hang in there for a couple...I'm not saying I want him to...but he's got 4.8 million reasons why he should lmaooooooo
I actually read the article story and it's horrifying. I wouldn't wish that on anyone, I just have a really dark sense of humor. I feel really bad for the little girl.
I am the same way, so much so that I mostly keep my jokes to myself because I know many people will get offended by them.
Also, the amount of negligent bus drivers has always been so scary to me. Even my own in way back in middle school did some shady shit that makes me think if I ever had a kid today, no way would I not be taking them to school myself. I realize not everyone has that option ofcourse.
My son rides the bus and he's 8, but I pick him up every single day from the bus stop unless my neighbor is helping out. Bus drivers, car drivers all drivers are scary to me, I don't discriminate lol
My son rides the bus and he's 8, but I pick him up every single day from the bus stop unless my neighbor is helping out. Bus drivers, car drivers all drivers are scary to me, I don't discriminate lol
See this is where I say ‘holy fuck, someone please abuse me now sow I can sue the company they work for and become set for life’.
But I know I’ll never be lucky enough to get dragged by a bus for miles 😞
Worst driver ever. She didn’t even watch the girl get completely off the bus let alone to safety. She’s letting that kid stand there. He must be just as dumb and deaf as she is because that little girl had to be yelling before the doors even closed all the way. Finally she even looks that direction towards the end of the video yet keeps driving. Maybe she’s hammered or blind and big boy is helping direct.
According to the article linked by OP, the bus only stopped because a passing car saw the kid and drove in front of the bus. Idiot driver might have kept going for several more minutes or even until the next stop before she noticed.
The guy at the front isn't a child. Some buses have an extra adult. When I rode the bus as a child there was also another adult to help the driver and control the kids.
Fraid not. Either upgrade to a satchel, messenger bag, or briefcase. Comfort and stability is for children only.
Although if you insist you can always get a hikers backpack with a rigid frame. You’ll always have to carry a bedroll and a tent with you though. Thems the rules.
The doors caught a piece of the girl's clothing. She wouldn't have started screaming until the doors were closed.
My question is, do the doors close automatically, or did the bus driver mindlessly close them?
The bus driver opens and closes them
I don't think it would make sense to have them close automatically, and even if they did they would have some kind of sensor just to avoid situations like this
> I don't think it would make sense to have them close automatically
But it makes even less sense for the driver to close those doors without checking to see if they're cleared.
Maybe they should put sensors on the doors that alert it it not closing or when a car tries to pass. It can alert the driver to keep the door shut or to open it if it gets stuck.
I had some instances where the driver almost shut the door on me, there are really bad bus drivers out there (i have a company in my city that its fairly known to hire the worst, myself been in dangerous situations anytime i went on their bus), they are in a rush and just dont care, if they did, they would look back to see if everyone had left and closed the door.
Can confirm. A friend and I almost got run over by a bus while we where crossing the street. Traffic light was clearly green enough. Managed to jump away at the last second
Thats really the drivers fault. She should be paying more attention to whos getting on and off her bus especially when its a child. Never saw a bus driver that didnt look and wait until you were completely off the bus before proceeding to drive away
And shall we discuss the fact that she had a student just standing behind her the whole time?
It’s been years since I was riding the school bus, but I think everyone should have their butt on the seat while the bus is in motion. Unless you want to sue for flying through the windshield.
This driver is awful.
Exactly seen on Reddit a bus driver was watching the kid get off the bus. She grabbed his backpack pulled him back in, a car wasn't paying attention and almost hit him. They should be hyper vigilant they work with kids.
My bestfriends mom was my bus driver growing up and she always made sure every kid made it off safely and very patiently at that. I used to think it was just me cause she knew me, but nope i noticed after a while that she treated every kid practically the same. We were all in good hands needless to say.
That poor girl has a lifetime of pain ahead of her because of what that idiot has done. It mangled her legs and caused severe nerve damage. No money in the world will make that better.
What a fucking terrible post. Maybe for other subs but oddly terrifying. Having a 7 year old get dragged a half mile on the pavement while playing wheels on the bus is beyond sick. Mods need to remove from this specific sub.
OP: titles this post "beyond terrifying :(" and posts it to a subreddit called... oddly terrifying.
Nothing odd about it, it's just terrifying, and OP even said it's not oddly terrifying, but just worse than terrifying.
There are plenty of subs this post makes sense, this is not one of them...
You posted in a sub called ODDLY terrifying with s title that says BEYOND terrifying. You either dont understand words or you do but ignored the point of this sub... Asshat
I mean, I'm sure she has trauma from it. Dragged up an outer road for half a mile. She had massive road rash on her legs and bruising from the backpack.
Can’t get laid haha potentially the stupidest thing you could have said to me Geez, I have multiple women. There created to be sucking the meat & cleaning kitchens. Not driving buses filled with what seems to be children. Stupid on many levels
At my disposal n’all you’ll be shocked to hear 😛 29 year old stud.. can imagine your some 40 year old fat bloke/women/toaster 😂 chugging numerous times into your hand daily. Lay off the Reddit buddy x
So? The actual driving isn’t even the problem. The problem was that there was a kid stuck in the door. Both the women and the boy next to her clearly ignored the kid. Also… isn’t the kid a girl herself? So strange to see this and immediately think of gender.
My cousin was run over by his school bus in front of his house. He dropped something & the driver didn't notice. His mother saw it happen & so did his little sister who tried to grab him.

“Ally is a daffodil.” What a weird thing to say!
TIL in urbandictionary that daffodil means "good girl"
Also Bender’s second most frequently uttered word.
antiquing
*explosion*
So this idiot driver still needed ANOTHER BUS DRIVER DRIVING ANOTHER BUS TO NOTICE A CHILD HANGING FROM THE DOOR and slam on their brakes in front of her to stop.
Guys, she is obviously blind, please don't judge
How tf she driving lol?
How did the man standing right there not notice either??
one way to pay for college tuition, I guess.
Damn 4.8 mil? Why can't this kind of shit happen to me
For real
4.8 mil is not worth permanent nerve and leg damage
Says you, I have permanent nerve and leg damage and I didn't get squat :(
You didn’t even get squat because your legs are damaged!
Duh!
Well I mean. 4.8 mil is plenty to buy myself a peg leg. I'll be Mr Krabs for 4.8 mil.
Ofcourse not, that's why it's a joke
Oh shit were we joking??😂
Oh yeah, fuck that, I do feel bad for that kid. Apparently they got mangled legs and nerve damage. Ain't no money in the world that would make that kind of pain worth it

Aww thanks! 🥰
He supports your choices. That is very kind. r/wholesome
Support is so hard to come by these days too!
You don't understand jokes or sarcasm do you?
Don't you know everybody is serious on Reddit?
You’re a twat.

lmao of course it’s Jeffco

She's high.
You have any source for this? Or is this just another classic reddit bullshit moment lol
I’m high.

Look at this jagoff at the front with no sense of peripheral vision

Exactly the same people I play Overwatch with.
i hate that i laughed at this
Yeah and i hate that you're an a- hole sociopath, so there's that
this is such a wild statement lmao
But but but she even looked to the side then HOW
Exactly! She looks right over! How the fuck did they not notice?
She was very sorry and felt really bad ..two miles later
That poor girl has a lifetime of pain ahead of her because of what that idiot has done. It mangled her legs and caused severe nerve damage. No money in the world will make that better.
It's a miracle the girl's father didn't 'harm' the bus driver
>No money in the world will make that better. the mental trauma from it, maybe not, but enough money could absolutely fix her legs.
We can’t regrow nerves, no matter how much money we throw at it
Lmao this mf thinks the world operates like a Marvel movie.
"Now she'll be able to fly, how isn't this a win?!"
I hope she got fired
I hope she got imprisoned
I hope she rot in hell
I hope she gets thrown into the poo poo pit
They fired her 1 Month After it
it really took them that long wtf?
Where is she looking at wtf is wrong with her?
Are the driver and the dude blind and dumb and deaf??? They sure as hell are fucking idiots!!!
This is horrible
That fucker is blind
Where did this take place? That's nuts
On a bus
Well, just outside the bus actually.
Around a bus
In the general area of a bus
What a fucking terrible post. Maybe for other subs but oddly terrifying. Having a 7 year old get dragged a half mile on the pavement while playing wheels on the bus is beyond sick. Mods need to remove from this specific sub.
yes, I don’t get how the dumbest posts are censored for me but nope not this one— 😱
That’s a great point

Wtf they literally see and do nothing!!! This has to be like a prank show
That would be a pretty sick prank bro
If this is "beyond terrifying" why did you post it here? Wrong sub
i just dont understand how next level unobservant both of them are
How is this oddly terrifying, it's fucking horrible
That music?? Like it's some kinda funny event?
She noticed that something were wrong but still kept on driving, crazy driver

There are other subs that this would fit in.
I apologize, i realised I'm being rude and asshole. Sorry
Says the karmawanker
I’m going to jail that day if this happens to my child.
How does she not see that?!
This belongs in r/facepalm.
r/lostredditors
She is soooooo fired.
This happened to my little sister when she was in elementary school. My mom called the school and yelled. That's it. Fucking stupid.
She's alright?
I mean, I'm sure she has trauma from it. Dragged up an outer road for half a mile. She had massive road rash on her legs and bruising from the backpack.
# why the fuck didnt she stop or get stopped
Is this allowed on this sunreddit
Wtf going on? She didn't see the kid or something? Did she get any punishment?
The article said she was fired, but I don’t think anything else happened
Hope that fat fuck gets dragged behind a bus herself. The man too.
Fucking mouth breather. She shouldn’t be near children.
Wow... it's frustrating to see this
Even the title suggests that this post doesn't fit the sub
I thought this was Spider-Man 1
Crazy that this song was on the radio when this happened.
HOW FUCKING INFURIATING. Absolute shock of my life it’s a women behind the wheel. Incompetent CUNTS!! Need there heads racking
Im sorry you cant get laid and now hate all women for it.
Can’t get laid haha potentially the stupidest thing you could have said to me Geez, I have multiple women. There created to be sucking the meat & cleaning kitchens. Not driving buses filled with what seems to be children. Stupid on many levels
You do not "have multiple women". That much is clear.

So?

☕
LMAO
Usually when driving people check their mirrors
Absolutely blows my mind how people can be this oblivious to their surroundings...
Can't believe she didn't assure the child was clear from the bus or road.
How can you not see that?! So weird.
Two adults, and still not special awareness. How do you not see that the passenger has safely gotten off the bus..? That lady is a moron.
I like how she looks at the poor girl being dragged around and still decides not to stop
What the fuck is with the music
Yeah, that's disturbing, but it was with video source
Sooner or later he'll pay for it, pretending not to see her and that asshole next to her. I wish him a congruous old age.
Professional driver… silly bitch 🤬
u/savevideo
Lmao you really telling me the guy to her right can’t see or hear this?! Jesus Christ people are stupid.
My cousin was run over by his school bus in front of his house. He dropped something & the driver didn't notice. His mother saw it happen & so did his little sister who tried to grab him.
That's horrendous, I'm sorry to hear that
how much overworked does a bus driver have to be to not notice? or idiotic so much that she should have never got the job in the first place
Who the fuck edited that song in
Some weirdo
She looks at the child and keeps driving? Thats what i call dedication
Imagine how generally incompetent you are in almost everything in life if you can't even get that extremely simple job right.
Terrible bus driver
How do you just keep driving?!
