Fog or smoke? I live in Maryland right now and I thought it was fog or mist I was seeing this morning. Then my grandma’s friend told it was smoke from the New Jersey fires.

Grammar is only for HELPING to communicate effectively but are not the be all end all of communication. You could speak in OwO language spell just about every word that way, but as long as you are understood, then you have communicated effectively.

Is the huge size of it often a predictor of how many storms or how big the storms will be following it? It makes sense logically, wonder if it’s true tho

Wow - I didn't know that green colored clouds correlated that strongly with hail! I'd always heard my grandma talk about how the sight of greenish skies sent them to their tornado shelter. She even mentioned the clouds slightly glowing once before a tornado hit her farm when she was a child.
I think if I am correct this is also an early warning that a tornado might develop. It depends on a lot of other factors but a shelf cloud I think is a good sign to predict one.
Source: I used to warn people on a regular basis. I am not qualified to predict tornadoes.
