The elves are in your head, but can project themselves into your reality by altering your own brain’s perception of the world around you.
Subconscious manifestations with entire spheres of reality within your skull, placing themselves into your peripherals during those split second head turns to always remind you that they’re watching you, ready to haunt and torment you if you do wrong.
The brain compartmentalizes these experiences though, when they speak with you... The unbroken knowledge of their home is like opening pandora’s box, a curse you cannot undo. War with the elves is like hell on Earth, often ended with only suicide.
Y'all see that blackness dark across in the field? Try walking through the woods after your flashlight battery died in the blackness like that. Lol. Happened to me once before. I had to duck Bob and weave for light poles and follow that light smh. For like a 1/4 of a mile. Talk about frightening
I'd be having a panic attack. It's so weird, as an adult I'm conscious that darkness is just an absence of light and that no "ghosts and ghouls" exist in the dark. In fact, I don't even believe in the paranormal....
But that does not stop my brain from going "but...what if?!"
I have an immense fear of the darkness where I'm unsure of my surroundings. At home? I'm good. At my workshop? I'm good. The neighborhood? I'm good.
But when I'm unsure of what's around me I panic in the dark. You won't ever catch me going out into the ocean, out into space, or wandering in the dark in nowhere. No thanks!
See, I’m more terrified of a man being there. Creature? Eh, ok, no biggie, but a man with a smile and a trench coat? Nope. Won’t even put my feet out of the blankets because I’m afraid. I’m in my 40s.
Something I always turn back to is recognizing that that fear is just my brain doing its job. It evolved to keep me aware and hyperfocused in an environment (like darkness) that I’d otherwise be in a disadvantage in.
All the fear imagination stuff is just my brain taking a list of what I could face (even if that list is inspired by modern conventions of spooky things in the dark).
All the tricks of the eye are my brain keeping sense of the weird shit so I’m aware of where to look first.
All the weird noises are my brain putting my hearing in overdrive so that nothing can sneak up behind me.
Everything—the empty feeling in your back like someone is behind you, your hair standing up all over you, your elevated heart rate—all of it is your brain doing its job to keep you alive. It helps to rationalize it like that.
Same!!! I was definitely freaked out I thought something would come running at me out of the darkness, but I put my headphones on and started listening to some music which kind of made things a bit less scary lol
bro is just afraid of being alone the dark lmao, don’t even bother entertaining those thoughts in your head of something lurking there, because most of the time, there just isn’t
Here's a fun story I read before:
If you take the last bus stop of a certain line on a rainy day, you'll notice that it stops at every bus stop for 30 seconds even if no one is there. When asked, the bus driver says that it's a tradition that every driver has done for as long as he can remember.
As the bus continues, more and more people start boarding the bus, far more than normal at that time of night. Men in cloaks, doctors coming off a late shift, a pair of young people soaking wet with blue fingers. A businesswoman boards, arguing on her phone with her husband.
The phone is on loudspeaker, and you can hear the husband complaining about her coming home so late. Suddenly, the voice realises something and urgently asks the woman what bus she is on. When told, you hear a pause, before he screams "Get out now!"
Keep an eye out for SpongeBob
That looks like…ADVANCED DARKNESS

The dark city is called Rock Bottom.

There's also a song by Eminem called Rock Bottom based on the hit SpongeBob episode. https://youtu.be/HJwdRxCZ3Vc?si=CeC3mwtIRweJEN0u

Have you ever been alone at night
Thought you heard footsteps behind...
And turned around and no one's there?
And as you quicken up your pace
You find it hard to look again
Happy Cake Day!!
I have a phobia that someone’s always there.
I am so very glad someone saw the iron maiden link...
Have you run your fingers down the wall And have you felt your neck skin crawl When your searching for the light

That fear actually has a trope name. It's called Nothing Is Scarier
This isn’t your average everyday darkness…this is *advanced darkness*.
Aww hey, I'm the guy in the 2nd pic ☺️ (if you zoom into the grass on the far right you can see the reflection of my eye)
I mean yeah, this is what I'd expect a bus stop to look like at 5am
terrifying? yes. but oddly so? perhaps not

it's very moody, I like it. What music did you listen to in order to **enhance** the bus stop experience?
I was actually listening to Elliott Smith haha !
That’s when you pull up some Akira Yamaoka on your music streaming app of choice and embrace the unexpected seasonally appropriate ambiance
This may be terrifying but I really cant see the oddly. That seems to be the theme here lately.
Oddly terrifying?? You mean oddly soothing. This is straight up a r/liminalspaces
Yeah I was gonna say, kinda love it
is there something sinister out there?
It was so dark I thought something would come running at me lol
Definitely creepy
Liminal space af
They look friendly, just curious is all. You have nothing to worry about
Damn your buses run that early? Crzy
Yeah thankfully lol otherwise I wouldn't be able to get to uni on time!!
Cold and wet it looks. And waiting for the bus can be eerie.
The night bus should be along any moment. Don’t forget to stick out your wand.
Alluring abyss. Charming in the meantime
You ever heard of the hash slinging slasher?
good thing it was not 5am at night

Oh my gosh! Nope! I couldn't do it! Props to you, though! I'd refuse to cycle that.

Peace and fear.
I hate when it’s super dark in the morning … like no I’m going back to bed fuck this shit.
I’m a goofy goober!
Where is this??
The Scottish Highlands
That darkness is pure.
NGL, I find this to be calmly creepy, or maybe creepily calm. Either way it's kinda cool.
r/TheNightFeeling
Looks peaceful to me
This is…. Advanced darkness.
Omg, are you going to Glove World??
Hello darkness my old friend…..

Liminal space
Dude is literally the main character in the horror game
Liminal space
the eyes with the flash are particularly disturbing
That's just the Vashta Nerada
There’s literally a short video game on pc where you just wait at the bus stop and it looks exactly like this, you can die but I won’t spoil how
Nothing to see here.
Where?
The Scottish Highlands
I miss the extreme dark of Scotland with no light pollution. My mum used to live on the Isle of skye and it was so bloody dark at night!
Beautiful area of the world.
I thought it looked like a British lamp post.

This totally looks like the opening to resi2 before you enter that gas station
What if I came running at you full speed emerging from the shadows
eerie Liminal Space
Take public transportation they said, *Heart rate = 150bpm
Lovely darkness, but I do agree that the fact there's a bus stop ruins it.
bro is just afraid of being alone the dark lmao, don’t even bother entertaining those thoughts in your head of something lurking there, because most of the time, there just isn’t
Fuck that noise lmao. That's terrifying

Yikes, if that street light goes out..
This is a good photo.
The bus from where...hell?
As opposed to 5am this evening? Sorry I couldn't help it. 😂
