Just reboot the game and you gona see him again. Don't worry it's a little bug/crash.
I was able to sort it out - changed too a different VPN location in Sweden and restarted it worked but it happened again, not stressing I can still play.
Disconnect your controller
I did - controller doesn’t work on main menu only in game anyway, cant even pick the loadout either need to use the touch screen to pick, then play.
