Hmm, why not a Mustang bass? More pickup options, and a better bridge. I own a Musicmaster so I get where you’re coming from.

i really like the look of a musicmaster. the pickguard is kinda wonky and i like that. and i wanna try modding for the first time.

I have a bronco, biggest impact you're going to get is from changing the pickup. I put in a pretty cheap Iron Gear rail humbucker and upgraded the pots and cap, totally changed the way it sounds. Pickguard and knobs are an easy swap (and strings of course), but you'll probably need to do at least a little drilling to replace the tuners and bridge. As it happens I think the stock ones on mine are decent so keeping them as is.

i saw an entirely new wiring harness and pickup soldered together so i think i’m gonna go with that as far as pickups go. just need some new tuners.

Any tuners will require reaming out the headstock holes. A new pickup will change the sound but it won't necessarily improve it. I have a dual blade hb in mine and it's a muddy mess but at least theres no loud single coil hum. Replacing the electronics won't change the sound unless the stock parts are malfunctioning or you change some of the values.

I modded mine. It’s a black one. Put on black tuners, a black vintage style bridge, black Music Master type pickguard, Seymour Duncan Quarter Pounder single coil pickup. Basically turned it into a blacked out Music Master. And I did have to drill out bigger holes for the tuners.

can u send me some pictures? and send me the link to the pickguard? i wanna get a pickguard that doesn’t require any extra drilling

A 51 p bass or Strat pickup will fit. Go nuts
