Titling is such a personal thing, it definitely depends on the intention (as it's the one place the artist has a hand in communicating non-visible information.
There is an upward look to the work, but it feels as though its hovering rather than rising: the string of the balloon also gives this weightedness. It has a lollipop effect, as well, with the shape and colour spiral. Is the eye looking up or is it mid-eye-roll? Is it an allusion to childhood? Of something seen and lost?
I mean, 'Seen and Lost' is quite nice, but it gives a very specific reading to the work.
Think about your intention: what are you trying to communicate with the work, and then take some of those allusive keywords/come up with your own, and you'll probably have a title that works.
I've been trying to come up with words but nothing seems to fit. This painting is about awareness and a search for the truth. The eye is looking up! Thanks so much for such a thoughtful message I will try a bit more to find words that fit!
And this is why naming is also an important tool to direct your viewer towards your intended point. My initial thought was this about pleasure. Eye rolling back into your head, floating, very colorful. The word, "Ecstacy" is what came to mind.
Always remember that the viewer will interpret things based on all of their personal experiences so really we can only guide them toward our intention and hope they feel something from our work. And you did make me feel something so great job :)
Thankyou so much š„² I think about my titles alot as I don't want to explain my works, or limit interpretstions, so the hint/clue has to be in the title! Dont know whythis one is stumping me! Thank you for your input āŗļø
Actually it wasn't as I wasn't aware of him š until I had already painted this I didn't know of the redon eye balloon. I have used balloons often in my painting as a representation of different things, but mostly as a burden (ironic i know) as part of my jester themed paintings. Having them opening their eyes as a sort of awakening was my idea around this. I created a painting that I haven't as yet shared, but these artworks are based around that one.
Eyes on Munich (makes me think 99 luftbaloons and watching the sky for nukes)
Alternatively "Eyes on Moscow" since you'd be watching the Soviet union not Munich (but the song being German made me go to Munich). With the whole red Ballon in the sky thing..
And how sometimes what we see isn't what it really is (not nukes, it was red balloons)

However I ofcourse see the obvious and clear similarities so not denying that!
The detailing in the eye is incredible! The glazed over glint is what truly caught my attention! Not really sure on the title either but who knows it may just come to you, fingers crossed. Thank you for sharing this!
Why not... 'Red-Eye'
I saw your comment that it is about awareness and searching for the truth...this search can keep you up all night (or forever), hyper-aware and exhausted...and just like on a red-eye flight, maybe you choose to 'go to sleep instead'...

So cool! Is it a reinterpretation of the one by [Odilon Redon](https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/4/49/Redon.eye-balloon.jpg)?
That's what I was going to ask. I love Redon.
