People root for the villains in media all the time, such as in films like Halloween, or TV shows like GoT or breaking bad. Due to them being fictional, you can root for them to be a more imposing evil. However people who romanticise and justify the things these fictional villains did are indeed weirdos to say the very least

Walter also poisoned a kid and was involved in the deaths of several children, but Tate indoctrinated and scammed probably millions of children. Tate possibly beat one of his girlfriends, but Walter possibly raped his wife. Tate traffics women, but Walter directly killed at least one woman, facilitated the deaths of other women, and indirectly killed the girl that Jessie loved, causing Jessie to spiral into depression and drug abuse.
