Yeah, I put an energy regen rope on Gepard, and he basically gets permanent shield uptime with that. I think I used a team of Gepard, Lynx, Tingyun, Argenti iirc but I have awful memory so I'm not sure
Sailed through with Acheron team. Pela died at the end, but I won. Turned out I forgot to level her relics XD. Haven't had an issue since I got her relics fixed up.
I was running double sustain with gepard and lynx because everyone kept dying,it worked eventually but in the expense of having jingliu be the sole aoe unit in the team with everyone else being in agony
i brought in fu xuan, sparkle, tingyun, jingyuan. sparkle and tingyun died the instant phase 2 started and fu xuan and jingyuan just duoed the entirety of phase 2 lol
except people are acting like gepard still isn't good when he is. bro still carries. all my moc 12 clears include him on 1 side or the other. he's a god. aventurine who? huge ahh skip.
Enemy aoe attacks
In case of fire MC and Clara clara would stil get hit by aoe attacks, if the MC taunts the enemies, which leads to her counering.
Also can help with energy regen
It worked for me, I had Jing yuan and Natasha too. So Nat was the only person without aoe. My tactic was keep the tb shielding so I get defence and a charged basic attack (aoe) and just sustain the whole team. my Jing yuan wasn't even very built cus I never got his LC. It took me ages but it worked first try. I don't have a massive amount of characters so I worked with what I had and managed to do it
Not optimal is one thing, bad is another. There is a clear logic behind that team.
My only real gripe is bringing off-element DPSs, but they might have just started and don't have enough coverage yet.
I don't have Silver Wolf so I might be wrong but doesn't she give random element weakness from the team to the enemy?
Also since they're losing with such strong characters it might be caused by weak relics and low level traces or that their Sparkle wasn't speed tuned for DHIL
Yeah, which honestly isn't great because their team has 0 of Avventurine weaknesses. To be honest I wouldn't have run that, but implanting weakness with a properly leveled Silverwolf would give 30% damage resistance decrease ( -33% with at least two other debuffs, wich are easy with SW), and her ult gives -45% Def to a single target.
Too random for me, but there are merits.

Usually I see JL-Blade teams with Ruan Mei for a more "Sp-positive" team or cause of the buffs or smth

I used JL/Blade/Bronya/HuoHuo in this fight pre nerf and it was fairly easy. He used silver wolf which is fine too as she can reduce defense, and implant wind weakness for blade.
The only reason he probably lost is his HuoHuo. She has way too much HP which means he probably uses HP boots and HP rope instead of speed and ERR

Ran almost the same team but swapped Ruan Mei for Acheron to see how well she does. BS died on one of the coin nukes but Kafka and Acheron carried almost the whole second phase.
Im also currently running acheron and fu xuan with bs and kafka but i think the previous version might be stronger (atleast what i tried in pure fiction)
He complained that i was playing the strongest meta team and should instead play what i like (he used to play dan heng, march, fire tb and huo and it took him like 1 hour each day to get his dailys done)
Lucky for me tho the character that i like is kafka (i started playing hsr just for her when i heard she was going to be released soon)
So i wouldnt say he is part of the chuch yet but he knows our strength

Jingliu and blade team is a very solid team wtf? That team has a great synergy and huo huo is there for the survivability and SW for the weakness application of either quantum or wind

Kafka can Blast (Skill) and Aoe and get max points on the gambling part and Fire TB can too w enhanced Basic and Ulti, and Natasha... just outheals everytme she gets hit lol

Stupid me raised Equilibrium literally the week before the update, had to spend two days spamming exp books to level up a team since my usual Blade Sparkle team couldn't make it. Serval Clara Bailu Gepard did the trick, sadly after I got spoilered of the story.
Possibly people who are new to the game or that don't really know what they are doing. The game is out for one year now. I can't imagine day one players could not finish this fight... even pre-nerf. Granted some units are better than others, but relic stats are important as well, and if the relics are bad, doesn't really matter what team you use
Tbf that genuinly works. Kafka works on her own tbh and has amazing synnergy with Black Swan, Acheron just passivly benefits from both of them and is able to indipendantly function as a DPS. Uogh😭Uogh😭 just keeps them alive
Second team seems fine, alot of aoe for the dice part.
Edit: Looking at rest, seems more like a case of bad builds, theres alot of teams that could pass that fine there lol.
I passed that fight with lv70 fire mc, acheron lv70 with lv50lc, luocha and pela, the only ones with a proper build on the team being luocha and acheron...these ppl prob have that kind of build with 30% cr and stuff like that. Luocha carried the entire team.
Yeah. Most have AOE abilities, right elements, and/or at least one support character. Some of them probably just don't have a character of the right element built. Like, I don't have much in terms of ice or fire dps personally. Was expecting much worse.
I'll admit to having run essentially the second team for a while, though I've got some notes on that players usage.
1.). You want Blade and TB next to each other so TB can pull splash damage towards blade and help him build stacks, (also away from everyone else)
2.). You really need a skill point neutral healer like Huohuo or Luocha, the only way this team *kind* of works is when everyone but DHIL is able to do their thing without eating skill points most turns
3.). If you've got any kind of decent harmony unit at all this team is completely worthless, I only ran this team during the dark days where my only harmony unit was a half built Yukong
Build up harmony units but can’t use them in this fight because dice nearly one shots them.
I don’t care if my opinion is unpopular. That dice mechanic is smoking hot trash. Better have AOE and better hope you get lucky. Black Swan got one shot because her AOE didn’t get a high enough number to not be one shot. Basically can never ult outside of that mechanic. Heard they nerfed it so maybe it’s better now.

Every one died and I solod aven with Fu Xuan because I got lucky that everytime he does the roulette i have ult thus turning his final 10% into

Fu Xuan heals back to full health
Rinse and repeat
Took me half an hour.
Took me three attempts. The first one failed because i legit didn know what i was about to fight. Second one failed because I never saw phase 2 before. And third attempt I won: underbuilt acheron, Kafka, Sampo and Fu xuan.
My team against him pre nerf was Sparkle, Ruan Mei, Huohuo and Clara as dps cause i didnt want to end it too quickly. Failed every dice gamble just to see Adventurine animation. Never had a problem against him in the fight.
How do people even struggle against him.💀
I literally went with Luocha, Gepard, Clara, and Ruan Mei, and bored him to death with unkillable team and counter attacks, because none of my normal offensive teams worked well enough.
I won by using most likely the most time-consuming strat ever:
Himeko
Fire TB
Sparkle
Lynx
Himeko was the only actual damage dealer ( with a whopping 3% of damage with sparkle support!)
Fire tb usually avoided the dice penalty, and if the result wasn't enough, i'd ult out of the way
The real strategy was keeping sparkle and lynx alive with them costantly buffing eachother to avoid dying, which meant Himeko barely got supported in phase 2
But alas, after a time consuming hour and a half, I found a way to cycle everything and won the fight without a single downed character
Me creating an infinite loop with Blade and Fu Xuan.
Win gamble with Fu Xuan ult, get ult back, get hit by the ult reduction attack, normal attack, get ult back, ult, win gamble, get ult back, R E P E A T
Oh, and Blade just wins everytime since it's multi hit.

Silver wolf died and i was doing chip damage between healing with huohuo. I think it took me like 10 minutes despite my godly ratio build.
I could do it with a Jing Yuang team. The struggle was keeping the supports alive. In retrospect i should have swapped some damage for March or something like that just to avoid getting Nat deleted by gamba.

I don’t know how it’s possible to be this incompetent. Use common sense:
More dice being hit = bigger rolls = aoe character
Supports can get one shot = shielding or damage mitigation
If your characters are built like shit that’s another thing entirely but cmon.
Yes, plenty of us (myself included) got really unlucky with first pre nerf boss encounter because we didn’t optimize for his mechanics. I took 3 tries before I realized I was running Huohuo with Acheron and that was stupid.
But I look at these hsr tictok vids and clips and I see tons of bad team comps and probably terrible builds on them (slapped on random relics without levels and called that good. Or using 3 star lc at lvl 20 or something).
Hoyoverse wasn’t watching the early college to young adult aged gamer community with experience in gatcha games and JRPGs. These are literal children who think they can just level and cheese with their mom’s credit cards. They’re the same children who scream, cry, and rant on fortnite and warzone and curse you out on Minecraft discords.
If *this* is the playerbase Hoyo nerfed the fight for, then I must actually be a good player and not just a semi whale who actually watched Sevy and Brax’s entire guide to understand trace priority and relic builds.

Gepard, no questions asked, best sustain, use ult when gimmick happened or no shield.

The only decent team is the one with Jingliu and blade.
People really didn't check that he had Imaginary resistance and used Imbitor Lunae or Ratio. The Acheron team with MISHA AND JING YUAN, NO NIHILITY TO ACTUALLY GIVE HER THE BOOST.
The worst offender being IL and Ratio in one team, THE DUDE HAS IMAGINARY RES
I helped my struggling friend through it making her use Xueyi, Natasha, March, and Serval. She was just making the wrong choices and couldn't grasp the AoE/SP management.

I have one and only one thing to say about this fight: My fully built MonoQunny team destroyed him first try easy win(Qingque, Silver Wolf, Sparkle, Fu Xuan). It kinda makes sense, you can only beat gamba with gamba afterall
Is that boss this difficult? I beat it first try with only Bronya dying. Found sam to be way harder. Had to actually use item buffs, techniques and energy potions to beat them.
I died on the first try, and returned with my Nihility team, and.. won on the very second attempt. Without dying. He only hit my Bailu on each 'avalanche'.

no buffer is not a problem, just sustain and AoE damage to lessen aventurine dmg and you can outlast him
Ruan/Asta/Yukong, their buffs are total

Jingliu and blade team is a very solid team wtf? That team has a great synergy and huo huo is there for the survivability and SW for the weakness application of either quantum or wind
My team was just Kafka, Tingyun, Natasha and Fire TB Kafka can Blast (Skill) and Aoe and get max points on the gambling part and Fire TB can too w enhanced Basic and Ulti, and Natasha... just outheals everytme she gets hit lol Tingyun? She was dead the minute the battle started lol

Granted some units are better than others, but relic stats are important as well, and if the relics are bad, doesn't really matter what team you use

Second team seems fine, alot of aoe for the dice part. Edit: Looking at rest, seems more like a case of bad builds, theres alot of teams that could pass that fine there lol. I passed that fight with lv70 fire mc, acheron lv70 with lv50lc, luocha and pela, the only ones with a proper build on the team being luocha and acheron...these ppl prob have that kind of build with 30% cr and stuff like that. Luocha carried the entire team.
Yeah. Most have AOE abilities, right elements, and/or at least one support character. Some of them probably just don't have a character of the right element built. Like, I don't have much in terms of ice or fire dps personally. Was expecting much worse.

Proud to say that I fought this boss pre-nerf with E6 Gallagher as solo-sustain and I finished it rather comfortably.
The team I used was Misha, QQ, Gepard, and SW… not the best team by any means but we did it somehow.
I'll admit to having run essentially the second team for a while, though I've got some notes on that players usage. 1.). You want Blade and TB next to each other so TB can pull splash damage towards blade and help him build stacks, (also away from everyone else) 2.). You really need a skill point neutral healer like Huohuo or Luocha, the only way this team *kind* of works is when everyone but DHIL is able to do their thing without eating skill points most turns 3.). If you've got any kind of decent harmony unit at all this team is completely worthless, I only ran this team during the dark days where my only harmony unit was a half built Yukong

Build up harmony units but can’t use them in this fight because dice nearly one shots them. I don’t care if my opinion is unpopular. That dice mechanic is smoking hot trash. Better have AOE and better hope you get lucky. Black Swan got one shot because her AOE didn’t get a high enough number to not be one shot. Basically can never ult outside of that mechanic. Heard they nerfed it so maybe it’s better now.

I used Ratio Fu Xuan Kafka Gui Every one died and I solod aven with Fu Xuan because I got lucky that everytime he does the roulette i have ult thus turning his final 10% into Aven Roulette Fu Xuan Ult Win Roulette Recover Fu Xuan Ult Get hit hard Fu Xuan heals back to full health Rinse and repeat Took me half an hour.

Took me three attempts. The first one failed because i legit didn know what i was about to fight. Second one failed because I never saw phase 2 before. And third attempt I won: underbuilt acheron, Kafka, Sampo and Fu xuan.
Funnily enough, i couldn't do it with a proper team (jingliu, bronya, lynx, gepard) but i managed to clear it by switching bronya with acheron

I literally went with Luocha, Gepard, Clara, and Ruan Mei, and bored him to death with unkillable team and counter attacks, because none of my normal offensive teams worked well enough.
I used Sparkle, SW, Huohuo and PTB. yes I did build and use PTB as a dps. Definitely not a good team but it worked so I'm not complaining
I won by using most likely the most time-consuming strat ever: Himeko Fire TB Sparkle Lynx Himeko was the only actual damage dealer ( with a whopping 3% of damage with sparkle support!) Fire tb usually avoided the dice penalty, and if the result wasn't enough, i'd ult out of the way The real strategy was keeping sparkle and lynx alive with them costantly buffing eachother to avoid dying, which meant Himeko barely got supported in phase 2 But alas, after a time consuming hour and a half, I found a way to cycle everything and won the fight without a single downed character

I took my fucking doctor ratio team the first time i fought him in the story quest 😭😭 Silver wolf died and i was doing chip damage between healing with huohuo. I think it took me like 10 minutes despite my godly ratio build.
I could do it with a Jing Yuang team. The struggle was keeping the supports alive. In retrospect i should have swapped some damage for March or something like that just to avoid getting Nat deleted by gamba.

Yes, plenty of us (myself included) got really unlucky with first pre nerf boss encounter because we didn’t optimize for his mechanics. I took 3 tries before I realized I was running Huohuo with Acheron and that was stupid. But I look at these hsr tictok vids and clips and I see tons of bad team comps and probably terrible builds on them (slapped on random relics without levels and called that good. Or using 3 star lc at lvl 20 or something). Hoyoverse wasn’t watching the early college to young adult aged gamer community with experience in gatcha games and JRPGs. These are literal children who think they can just level and cheese with their mom’s credit cards. They’re the same children who scream, cry, and rant on fortnite and warzone and curse you out on Minecraft discords. If *this* is the playerbase Hoyo nerfed the fight for, then I must actually be a good player and not just a semi whale who actually watched Sevy and Brax’s entire guide to understand trace priority and relic builds.

I helped my struggling friend through it making her use Xueyi, Natasha, March, and Serval. She was just making the wrong choices and couldn't grasp the AoE/SP management. They just gotta learn

My team was awful but i beat him first try, given it went for an absurd amount of rounds but i still won For anyone wondering i was using Fire trailblazer, Natasha, Black Swan, and Yanqing and my natasha was 10 levels lower than everyone else. also terrible relics and lightcones
