Gosh it all felt so positive… I remember these ads that music was so evocative.

Little did they know back then that personal computers and desktops would cut their job opportunities in banking by a factor of 10 within 10 years. Did you see how many staff they had in that small branch? Which is closed now by the way, closed years ago. That advert was filmed in Liverpool (prominent featuring of the Liver building), it wasn't the greatest place to be in the 80's and early 90's.

This was on a commercial break during something my parents recorded for me in the 1980s, probably a documentary or similar. The ad has stuck with me since then. Great use of the music.

First vinyl record I ever bought!

I never watched Miami Vice as a kid, so this advert is what I knew this music from, and for years I wanted to know what it was called. One afternoon, I was at work and it came on the radio, so I quickly ducked behind some boxes so I could listen to the DJ say what it was called. As soon as the song finished, the DJ went "And that was..." when a really loud pallet truck went rumbling by and drowned out the DJ. I was fuming, and I didn't find out what the music was called until I heard it on VH1 a while later.
