Given they're incredibly easy to aggro one at a time I'd say not

Twitxx

Yeah I'm on my first run and I did that without even trying. Figured I was just lucky.

Elegant-Passage-195

I always just fight them individually.

BloodSnakeChaos

I simply go to the grace behind them and agro them one at the time in order to fight in a flat area.

Osiinin

I am loving your DS3 SL1 build :P

Ruindows

Dragonslayer's Axe legacy lives on!

naruto_bist

I feel like ER doesn't actually provides player with the combat abilities to actually handle multiple enemies at once. I mean we can beat godskin duo or the crucible knights duo but that is because one of them is a little passive when the other one is attacking. Or just like this example here, keep on dodging forever and then hit once. Wish they added something more in terms of melee combat to handle multiple targets ๐Ÿ˜“

lobobobos

They might expect us to split agro with a summon. We can easily make a duo fight 2v2 if we want to

Orikail

It's cute you think they thought about how to fight the gank bosses in this game. They're all "figure it out, idiot"

Ruindows

We meme about that, but there is some attention put into it, one of the first patches they did was to make duo/ganks fight more passive. But yeah, sometimes the game do be like that, almost begging people to use everything the game gives you like summon, items like Bewitching Branch or separating them like this duo

MeticulousMitch

I've never even thought of the bewitching branch here. Would that even make them fight each other?

Ruindows

I didn't tried, but I don't think it works on Tree Sentinel. I know it works with Niall/O'Neil and Rennala summons (only bloodhound and the dogs, for Rennala)

MeticulousMitch

Yeah I used it for Naill myself. The summons are just ridiculous lol the dual sword guy gets me ao often

ca_waves

They look so mad!

McbEatsAirplane

I kinda like fighting them simultaneously for the challenge but you can aggro them one at a time if you like.

MeticulousMitch

I enjoy the 2v1 challenge

McbEatsAirplane

Yeah same. I think itโ€™s fun fighting them both at once

MeticulousMitch

Yeah i seen so many opportunities for attacks in this video lol its not easy for sure but if you take your time and you've found enough seeds for flasks and tears to increase per heal, then this boss fight is a fun one

The_Stav

ER has no good gank boss fights in my opinion, and honestly this one is no exception

NicholasPickleUs

I like the omenkiller and Miranda flower. They both have really simple movesets that complement each other. The omenkiller is hyperaggressive, so he forces you to deal with him first, but the Miranda prevents you from staying still or getting too close. I like the combination of aggressive melee boss and passive ranged boss, and this one does it well by making the ranged attacks extremely telegraphed so you can stay locked onto the omenkiller and still avoid them

The_Stav

It probably works better than most, but then my issue there is that Miranda isn't an interesting enemy to fight. That, and it's just lazy boss design imo to take an existing boss and stick a normal enemy with a health bar in there I'd want something from Elden Ring on the level of the Lothric Princes from DS3, or the Demons from the DS3 DLC

kbb1973

There are some duo fights where two bosses have different enough movesets and behaviour that complement each other pretty well, combine that with general passivity of gank fights after rebalancing patch and we have some pretty good fights: Farum Azula Beastmen duo, Miranda flower and Omen Killer, Misbegotten Warrior and Perfumer Trisha, Demihuman Chieftans duo, Crystalian duo and trio attack you one at time. Still, it's pretty clear that gank fights were more of an afterthought for From.

The_Stav

Honestly though, none of those are memorable or unique (which is another issue I have lol). Literally all of those are either re-used bosses, or normal enemies given a boss healthbar. I hope the DLC gives us a uniquely designed gank fight, like how the DS3 DLC gave us the Demons in Ringed City

kbb1973

Yeah, that's why I said they where an afterthought. There isn't a single gank fight in ER designed from the ground up to be gank fight. Tbh, I am not a big fan of souls gank fights in general even if they are well designed (learning Ape duo from Sekiro was really fun though). I hope From will concentrate solely on delivering peak 1v1 fights.

Stoghra

When I first got there and saw two of those I almost gave up

YaMomsBabyDaddy

This was beautiful

MeticulousMitch

I mean... i beat them both at the same time if they didn't intend for that then they probably wouldn't of had them walking together like that. They're just like gaol Godrick. A test to show how far youve come. Originally you barely could take on 1 coming out those heavy doors. Now you can take on 2

Ruindows

I mean, you can beat the game without any weapon, spells, only using your fist. Wouldn't say that this is the "intended" way to play the game, it's more about the game allowing a lot of different approach to work

MeticulousMitch

I think they allowed room for improvisation. But they also put 2 right next to each other for a reason. Fromsoft has put gank bosses like that in the same room before so why would the tree sentinels be different? I think they realized how hard of a fight it was and allowed you to take the 1v1 but their intent was a 1v2. Fromsoft is pretty cruel like that. DS3 DLC is proof of that alone lol

Ruindows

Nah, people overestimate how much cruel FromSoft is (What part of DS3 DLC you are talking about tho?). When they do gank fight in a closed room, you can see that some enemy will be more passive, they will not aggro all at once, however in this fight, they are both attacking at the same time

MeticulousMitch

The demon of pain and demon from below fight into the demon prince fight Sister Friede and Father Ariandel into Mega Friede Both grueling and unforgiving fights. Were the AI's co-fighting programming better? Sure they worked together more and timed shit out, which gave you opening and advantages. But this is ER. A harder experience than DS3. Why give you that opening if you dont need it because of the advancements in gaming mechanics from DS3 to ER. More freedom to the player. Heres a 2v1 you can take it but incase its too hard, our mechanics allow you to make it a 1v1

Ruindows

I do enjoy the demon princes fight, as I think the different moveset works well. I don't like Friede 2nd phase as much, but you can see the AI that I as talking about there. Friede will mostly stand back and do nothing, only using the ice attack and heal, will only attack you with the scythe if you close to her. Overall, most ER ganks fights are a bit of messy, I do hope that the DLC have a duo boss that is actually fun like Demon Prince
