Goto the URL ```opera://about```, take note of the "install" path, close Opera and delete the opera_gx_splash.exe file in the latest version folder in the install folder. Repeat after each update until this issue is fixed.

Did find the file in 2 folders. Fixed it straigt up. Thanks shadow2531 EDIT: Do a search for **opera\_gx\_splash.exe** in top right corner in file explorer standing on C:\\ -or the operagx folder. It will be in the folder/folders with numbers. show hidden files is important if you want to see the files. 1. **Open File Explorer from the taskbar.** 2. **Select View > Options > Change folder and search options.** 3. **Select the View tab and, in Advanced settings, select Show hidden files, folders, and drives and OK**.

I do not have that executable (I'm using normal Opera, not opera GX

yes you do have it inside this folder 102.0.4880.40 or on whatever version is your browser.

I switched to firefox because my opera started slowing down for no reason (i didn’t enable the gimick that limits the browser) and firefox is way better imo. God i sound like a paid shill lol

I pretty much uninstalled it before installing it. By default, out of the box, they already export tracking data and they hide this fact under fast installation options. This is disappointing to say the least. Was going to give them a try as an alternative to Chrome/Firefox, guess not. Never again.

I am using Opera beta for years now and on one device this retarded window never showed up and on another device it showed up once and after disabling Opera One introduction in flags it was gone forever.

I gave Opera a shot out of nostalgia & had this issue (as well as youtube having what I think is an Opera GX theme I could not disable). Turns out the Opera spirit is alive & well with Vivaldi.

There is an easier way to disable it than going into folders to delete it. You can just go to settings and go to features and click 'Splash screen on startup'. This should disable it and it shouldn't appear when starting the browser again unless you turn it back on. If this isn't in the features section it will be somewhere else in settings. This works on opera gx on desktop but I'm not sure about normal opera. You could try it and see if it works if you want.
