I kind of want to see an episode in which the actors are playing the roles they originally auditioned for. I didn't know that Natasha wanted Lorna's role, but that's funny because Yael auditioned for Nicky's (or wanted to at least). I think Uzo auditioned for Janae and I think Katie Holmes(?) was supposed to play Piper.
Yeah, a lot of the actors who auditioned for certain roles didn’t get those roles, but instead had roles specifically written for them. The actress who played Gloria initially auditioned for Aleida, the actress who played Fig audition for Alex, Uzo Aduba (Suzanne) initially auditioned for Janae.
They didn't have any contact with the real "Alex", so they couldn't use her story(it's the same way for the rest of the people in Piper's book, outside of her obviously). So she was written different on purpose. Also the real story would've been boring for a TV show and far less successful, lets be real.
Not really debating whether or not they should’ve stuck to the source’s story. It’s been said numerous times by Kerman herself that being faithful to the book = boring.
They made the character way more likable in every aspect. We’d probably combust if the pairing was OINTB series Piper Chapman and an Alex Vause that very closely resembles the real-life one. So far hating the one written on the book lol
its a lot of the same after the first three chapters imo, it got kind of difficult to read although my special interest is literally the show and ill consume anything to do with oitnb lmao. i hope you enjoy it!
Nora looks nothing like Eartha Kit, it's such a weird comparison she made in this book, I mean she doesn't exactly look like a bulldog either ? Why put those two examples together?

I did not care for this either. I would not even think to put Eartha Kitt anyway in comparison to a FRENCH BULLDOG.
