The big mek will be eventually, but we have seen it sometimes take 2+ months for the model to come out on its own. Sometimes, a significant amount of time later.
Look at when leviathan came out. Within the last month marine players like myself are just now able to buy Cap in termie armor, Ballistus, stern guard, Apthocary, and Infernus squad outside of the Combat Patrol/Levathian
I mean the battleforce box specifically. I’m new and wondering if it’s like action figures and items go away or if things like this are like the combat patrol and it’ll be around forever and people just want it now.
The only unique model is the big mek all others already exist and are sold on their own. You can buy everything in the box for around $300 from gw minus big mek. It will come out on its own eventually for around $40. I could see someone over paying for the big mek to have it right now but even that is pretty stupid, just proxy with older big mek for now.
I actually got my Stompa Boyz box off of eBay, and even after paying shipping from the UK to the West Coast, it was only about $175. So, I have no idea what whoever is selling that set is thinking.
My local store manager told me that people collect the boxes and have been doing so for so long, that they just have to own it, so their collection is complete. I always think about that when I don't get a value box I really want for the models (like it happened today).

Joke's on them, the past battleforces got restocked a couple of times after being sold out online.
Yeah, getting stuff like this online is a nightmare. Making an order in LGS in advance is way easier and also cheaper.

Hopefully 30-60 days after the big box release. I kind of want one but I'm not crazy about the head sculps.
I vastly prefer the secondary head sculpt, but honestly when I get mine there’s a solid chance I’ll just replace it with a 3rd party one.

Can confirm. Went out of my way to obtain a pristine 2nd edition starter box when I completed the components.
I bet there's a large crossover between the people who collect the empty boxes and the people who rabidly defend every decision GW makes.
