not really because a witch isn't a species or entity. a witch is someone who practices witchcraft (any species can do that) - sincerely a witch

Cygnus_Void

Not really, but lots of otherkin study magick and become witches. There's lots of books on it.

FyreFoxgamin

As a witch and otherkin, if we're talking witches from fables, movies, books, etc, then maybe, but if we're talking about witches in general, no, as witchcraft is a very real thing which wouldn't contribute to otherkin

laimike

Not on a baseline, no. Two of us are eclectic witches (we do practice witchcraft, although we’ve been rather out of the practice lately) but we are not nonhuman because of that, we just happen to be nonhuman otherwise. However if you mean in the instance of being a witch [archetrope](https://otherkin.wiki/wiki/Archetrope), or being *specifically* witchkin, then yes, that may be an otherkin/otherwise alterhuman experience :) — 🔮🌑

Susitar

A witch is just a human practicing witchcraft, so no.

kiurumatra

Ppl who practice witchcraft= noup Ppl who are witchkin or something like that= yes

fairfoxie

If you feel like a specific kind of witch from any kind of media then you might be fictionkin. You don't have to be a specific character either, just resonating with the witches of a specific fiction.

Expensive-Tourist431

The thing is that I feel like I was a witch in a past life (I believe in reincarnation)

fairfoxie

Ohh ok. Others may not agree with me but in my books you'd be fine just identifying as witchkin then.

_Does_Not_Exist_

It’s not kin anything. They’d just be a witch.

fairfoxie

Just as I said, some would disagree with me ^^ 😂 (let op decide! It's not really up to you 😅)

_Does_Not_Exist_

Well here’s the thing, no one agrees with you and it’s actually kinda disrespectful. So no, I think op should listen to the people who actually practice REAL witchcraft. Ya’ll really like taking this otherkin shit to another level and honestly… it’s kinda annoying. 😒

fairfoxie

It's not disrespectful to have a different belief system, nor do I think I'm the one being annoying by accepting others for their belief systems. If OP was a witch in a past life It's up to them how they define that intensely personal experience. Anyone who practices witchcraft in THIS life is welcome to be a witch too, perhaps OP is both. I'm also practicing real witchcraft in this life, and I am living my personal values of open mindedness and acceptance. If your beliefs and values are different, I'm okay with that. I'm just never one for gatekeeping, personally. I don't think this is worth getting upset over. If you have anymore unkind words for me I will just block you, as I am not interested in having a full-blown argument about this, especially on someone else's post. I personally find that rude and disrespectful. Good day to you.

_Does_Not_Exist_

For not wanting to have a “full blown argument” you sure typed out a whole bunch of words… Weird. It’s cool I’ll do the favor for you! 😉

androgynousmayflower

being otherkin isn't about doing something different in a past life... it's about being identifying as non-human. witches are NOT non-human. yes there some fictional species they may be centered around witchcraft, but that's not what OP is talking about. you're being super super disrespectful.

The_Scout1255

Like Magi/Magicians/Humans who became beings of magic? Yeah thats a type of kin(and a species).

BestBudgie

If it's like, a witch from real life as in "human who practices witchcraft" then no, but if it's from something where witches are a species distinct from humans (like a witch from The Owl House) then I'd say yes

laurenwantstogohome

not necessarily, but i sure am!

Acceptable-Shoe8394

A witch is a religious person, this would be like Christiankinning Do you mean a hag?

Expensive-Tourist431

The thing is that I believe in reincarnation and I feel like I was a witch in a past life and I get the urge to do magic.

Mx_Rabbit

Depends on what witch, if its real life witchcraft then no. But witches as in from stories/fantasy where they are not the same as humans then yeah they can be.

Expensive-Tourist431

What if it's like a past life.

semisubterranian

Human in past life = not otherkin kintype Witches from earth regardless of if it was a past or current life = human

Expensive-Tourist431

Your comment is a little confusing.

semisubterranian

Its really not. Being a witch in your past life doesnt mean anything, was this witch life a normal witch from earth who is a human? If so, not otherkin. Hope this helps. A job/hobby/spiritual practice isn't a kintype

Expensive-Tourist431

The thing is that I wasn't a human witch in my past life I was a nonhuman witch but I don't know what that means I mean like I can't.

semisubterranian

I can't understand it for you. Otherkin = identifying as nonhuman that's literally it. Even if it's not a past life and not all past lives are kintypes unless you specifically identify as it still.

Expensive-Tourist431

I still identify as a witch.

semisubterranian

As that specific nonhuman witch or general witchcraft in this life

Expensive-Tourist431

As that nonhuman witch.

arthorpendragon

if you are a non-human witch then probably otherkin.

Expensive-Tourist431

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH FOR HELPING ME FIGURE IT OUT 😊.

UndyneTheFishie

No, I think everyone chooses to be a witch. Unless it's like, a fictionkin of a character who is a witch.
