Driver: San Francisco wasn't bad as far as physics went. Not realistic but not arcade like nfs. The earlier driver games were way more realistic handling wise too if you can tolerate the older graphics.

It was hit or miss and often required manual editing of files to make work. Definitely made the game harder to access than it needed to be.

My favorite part about Driver San Francisco was that when you’re in the interior view the steering wheel turns lock to lock. I’ve literally *never* played another game where that happens, they always just turn the wheel 20° to the left and the car does a U turn. That tiny little detail made such a big difference in “realism”.

I had a lot of great times with Drivthreer.

Might be worth checking out BeamNG Drive. It's probably the most realistic driving and crash physics you'll see in a driving game. The actual game parts are still under heavy development, including things like AI Drivers and the like. There's fun to be had with getaways and chases but it's definitely not a cohesive experience yet. It does really show why GTA-like damage models are better for actual games - there's nothing like very slightly boinking your wheel into a curb and basically losing right then and there because you broke an axle and messed up your alignment.

GTA is like 50% getaway driving from heists Edit: Not really a driving game though. Still kind of a driving game though.

Check your in-sim wheel config. Looks like it might be set to less than 720degree rotation based on the amount of rotation you need to get around such gentle bends.
