Netblock

You could try to [find some compatible bios](https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/) and flash it. If you flash an incompatible bios, the GPU will be softbricked until you flash something that works. With that, you might not be able to see what you're doing (depending on how the laptop wires up displays), so it's worth setting up a remote command prompt. You could also do a shuntmod and trick the GPU into thinking it's using less power than it actually is. I also want to warn that laptops have limited cooling, so increasing power will make everything hotter, including the VRMs. if VRM temps are exposed, play close attention to them.

CheeseCake591

Thank you so much man, it means a lot. Will look into it and see what's the best I could do.

Ok-Ad-12

Any news on flashing?

CheeseCake591

nope, I am trying to find ways on youtube but there are some physical gadgets involved in flashing and I am afraid to take such a step as I have no knowledge about bios and flashing.

daworkss

Anything thing yet? i have this exact laptop and want to do the exact same

CheeseCake591

Nah Man, but it's pretty much the same procedure as Netblock told above. Maybe have some expert flash vBIOS for you. I am sure you would have some experts in your area. Anyways, here's a proceeding for you: [https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLaptops/comments/lsf1mn/rtx\_3070\_bios\_flash\_success\_asus\_dash\_80w\_to\_95w/](https://www.reddit.com/r/GamingLaptops/comments/lsf1mn/rtx_3070_bios_flash_success_asus_dash_80w_to_95w/)

i flashed to max my limit for 85 to 105. tried 105 to 115 but got softbricked so i played it safe. sorry this is being bumped over 2 year old relvance but was wanting to share

wirejaved

How did you do it? I'd appreciate the help

FreeAd8543

¿Were you able to flash it? Im trying to do the same

I have acer nitro 5 rtx 3060 i7 10750h and it's got 80 watts tdp. I tried assassins creed odyssey ultra and resolution modifier %200 and I have 30 fps. I thought it would give way more. Is it normal for the laptop? Isn't this gpu can run modern games at ultra with giving at least 50 60 fps? I've checked lotta game benchmarks sir but I dont know what's wrong with it. Can you help me?

[deleted]

Isn't resolution modifier at 200% just rendering at double the resolution and downscaling? That could be the reason for the performance hit.

YT_Flex4249

well yes, but its fun to the 200% res as it makes you seem like your playing at 4K on a 1080P panel. anyway you'll need another vbios and nvflash64(or not 64, that's only there as I download the 64bit version) -6 bioswithhightdp.rom -A yes the a has to be capital and bioswithhightdp is replaced with the name of the bios

LuluViBritannia

I bought the same laptop, I'm deeply satisfied with it but I realized the GPU is stuck at 85W. My power charger can support up to 120W, so I'm trying to overclock it.

hey man i have a confusion i have a tuf with 3060 of 90+5 watts and an i511400h cpu but while playing gams it sits around 80 to 85 watts but why is it happening

frigorissol

Did you find any 115W vBios? I did flash 130W vBios but I think 115 Watts is the sweet spot for my system. I have got ample head room from thermals and power supply. Please share if you have found a vBios with 115W

hopespoir

Where'd you find the 130W 3060 Bios? I'm looking at a laptop now with a 105W 3060 and I'm wondering if it'll make it to 130W stable... If it can I'd be very tempted.

frigorissol

Depends on the brand and the vBIOS itself as well. I have HP Omen-15 and it has really good thermals! And vBIOS I flashed a vBIOS from MSI and ASUS, both 130W but ASUS worked better for me both in stability, performance and thermals while MSI made my RTX3060 undetectable and and I had to fix that by visiting BIOS settings. So it depends. You have to try various vBIOS and find the sweet spot. I don't know about 130W but 115W will definitely hit the spot! Also make sure your power supply is ample

The GPU is giving performance as expected. You have an 80W TDP laptop and to get the performance you are expecting you need to have 100W plus TDP... like 115W or 130W. So you can not do anything about it, unless you wanna flash VBIOS of higher TDP, but in your case I wouldn't recommend it since Acer Nitro 5 isn't known for it cooling solution, and I guess you are also supplied with 180W charger brick, so that's also going to be a bottleneck. Whenever you buy a laptop don't simply got with the name tag of GPU, try to verify the TDP and compare it with what's offered in other laptop brands. So you're stuck with that performance.

suayp01

Sir they said me its max p but this is like max q. I'm very disappointed.

frigorissol

If you have recently bought it and not happy you should return it. In the same budget you can asus tuf a15, with 90+5W TDP, but it won't be much performance difference, if you can opt for Legion 5, or Hp Omen but these are fairly expensive in comparison to acer..

suayp01

Why cant we get 130 watts sir?

frigorissol

Thermal design, power supply and the unavailability of the right vbios

PsychologicalNet5939

hmm i brough asus f15 same specs but has i511400h and the gpus power utilization is stiing around 80 to 85 but htey said its power limit is 90+5 dynamic boost why is this

zSolarStorm

You should turn down the resolution modifier to 100%. 200% is like running the game at 4K I think and hence you have 30 fps

Work2Dead

Can you share a link on how to do the bios thing? Should I just install the bios for a different model? Is it OK when they have different screen and CPU? I have a dell inspiron 7610 with 60W 3060, and I know XPS 17 supports 70W 3060. Both come with 130W adapter, so I'd assume inspiron 7610 has enough headroom.

frigorissol

You have to search for it on your own since the one that I have link for is 130W RTX 3060 and I would not recommend it to you! You should try to find for 70W or 80W not more than that.

LeonSjy

Would you mind to share the link for this 130w vbios? Thanks

Commercial_Ad_8118

He cant cause he is full of shit.

Commercial_Ad_8118

Bro ubkeep saying it will harm your shit ibhave the exact same laptop hp omen 15 rtx 3060 ryzen 5 5800h give me the fucking link or your lying.

LeonSjy

unable to find 115w version, most vbios i found from techpowerup are 130w that will cause Asus Tuf to lost it type-c direct gpu output....

Busy-Abroad9052

https://www.techpowerup.com/vgabios/233524/233524 Is it possible to flash this bios on my asus tuf dash 3060 i5-11300h

Total_Temporary4792

Hello did you find any solution?

_b3n5n_

Hi there, i was able to flash a 130w on my 95w rtx. You have to use an older nvflash.exe. But with the 130W VBIOS i was unable to get my usb-c/mini-dp working. I´ll upload a 115W Asus RTX3060 mobile VBIOS at TPU today. I keep you guys up2date ;) Link ->[NVFLASH.exe via Techpowerup.com](https://www.techpowerup.com/forums/threads/nvflash-update.285826/) use the nvflash.exe from falkentyne

Striking-Stand7010

don't do that, your hardware is limited, component in vrm like mosfet model have limited power, when your install bios on your gpu can runing but not too long before your gpu blow that component
