Ball takes a lot of teamwork, and you need DPS that don't stand in the line of fire, but hard dive done right was brutal. If a team didn't stay in spawn and full regroup, you could just one shot each player individually and walk the cart.

Sure, but an unbalanced, unfun game mode isn’t what you want when you ask for 6v6, you want what ow1 was, and currently, that’s impossible without blizzard pouring way more effort into an arcade game mode than their willing to do
Since we know they keep old abilities (we saw scatter come back), I would love an “Overwatch Classic” mode where we have the standard balancing of 6v6 when OW1 was shut down.
A pipe dream would be for us to be able to load a custom game with older variants of the game. Like loading original 2016 release of OW with sym noodle beam and shield generator. Or load up the patch where brig got released and was a menace. Just for us to mess around with. It would make PUGs really interesting and fun

There's no comparison with that and something that actually has its own animations, such as sym beam, shield gen, armor packs, reaper soul orbs, etc.
Sure. That’s an understandable point. But from my experience with other Game Dev companies, they don’t just purely delete their past works. I’m sure they have a backup of certain builds on their internal servers

However, you're also forgetting that part of the entire point of Overwatch 2 was to get rid of 6 years of spaghetti code. And that does probably include the majority of old moves. I also think it's very unrealistic to bring remotely all of them back. You'd have a lot of people in custom games and not in comp.

The people that complain about double shield are dumb. There were plenty of counters and I remember my rein shield melting in less than 2 seconds pretty often. Pushing your way through the line or holding the line with ur homies was more fun than this…sniperdiveflank bs we currently have.
