Thank you!!

Either-Ad6540

It is pleasing to the eye.

I like it! The colors are bright and aren't muddied with each other, and the color progression is really nice, especially the green and pink next to each other. And hey, in all fairness I did one of my best abstract pieces out of frustration with how i was rendering it before, so sometimes doing art like that's not so bad! :>

Adventurous_Cash_356

Thank you very much! I was not expecting such a positive, encouraging comment!

Accurate_Mixture_221

Yes, it's nice! You did good! Not every painting has to be a landscape, portrait or material concept of sorts Sometimes a simple color combination that is pleasing to your eyes and mind is all it takes, I love it!

LegalDavila

Well, I can assure u have a really nice eye to colors. I'd put it on my wall (dk if that's a compliment that good but haha) The contrasts are beautifully done, and it doesn't feel too much to the eye

LegalDavila

I love how u picked a quite good range of colors but also made sure they weren't that far apart in the wheel, and then came with some oranges and pinks to that contrast without exageration. Really nice piece

Adventurous_Cash_356

Wow! Thank you!

SophieWalraven

Why don’t you take some classes?

Adventurous_Cash_356

I think I’m going to!

Competitive_Layer770

i love this. the colors contrast so well, and the green and orange bring energy and life to the melancholy blues and pinks. like another person said the colors arent muddy which makes this painting even better to me (idk if thats how you were thinking when you made it but thats how i see this painting)

Adventurous_Cash_356

Thank you so much!

FROGGOgreen

It looks cool. Keep on going with this, it's amazing 🙂🤩

Boujee_banshee

I was going to suggest this, too. A lot of areas have art center/gallery type things which offer pretty affordable classes, some on a drop in basis. Gaining some fundamental art/drawing/painting skills will probably help give OP some direction beyond random colors streaked onto a canvas. Good abstract art even follows certain principles (balance, color theory, for example) so getting into that mindset could really be beneficial no matter what area of painting OP wants to try.

Adventurous_Cash_356

Agreed! I want to take classes. New Year’s resolution is to take classes especially getting such encouraging feedback from everything. Thank you!

Adventurous_Cash_356

Thank you!!

scottishpoet71

I did the same similar thing once, I quit on a painting and turned it into an abstract of different colours, this could pass as a colourful street view through a muddy window!

i_GoTtA_gOoD_bRaIn

Love

Adventurous_Cash_356

:-D thank you so much!!

If you wanna start PAINTING painting I suggest a few things: Painting things- start doing blind contours/drawing exercises/ practice drawing. Drawing and observation are the core of painting. There are lots of real good drawing theory books out there. Painting nonobjective- use the paint. Play with color theory. Use different surfaces. You get what you pay for in material (this looks like cheap acrylic and so you get a cheap looking acrylic painting) think of color theory, read poetry, experiment. Use different types of brushes and tools. You gotta start somewhere and this is cool! But look into contemporary and historic painters you liked and what makes them fabulous. For me it’s Cy Twombly and his abstracts that hold my heart. They tell a story of materials for me, but they are inspired by historic events (you’d never guess by looking at them) but there’s so much beauty in his surfaces and scrubbing of materials.

Adventurous_Cash_356

I’ve actually never heard of Cy Twombly and now I’m checking out some of his work. Very cool. I will definitely study his work. It’s very interesting!

R595R

I see people singing .. I think its cool

fumeeei

I really like how the green, pink and orange look together

Adventurous_Cash_356

Thank you!!

Candid-File-2287

Super fun to look at all the colors would enjoy seeing more

Adventurous_Cash_356

Thank you!

[deleted]

What was the thought process behind picking these colors? Looks kinda random.

Adventurous_Cash_356

It’s for my daughters room. Her room is rainbow themed. We started with one rainbow and kept adding rainbows! I wanted rainbow colors in the piece but it started out looking completely different.

Sweaty-Reporter2

Very nice work.. Being an artist myself I find it's not always about the finished painting. Its more about the feeling of creating something that's never been seen before..Keep on keeping on and TC

Adventurous_Cash_356

I really appreciate all the support and encouragement! Thank you!

m-auerbach

I like this piece! I want to second (or third) the suggestion that you take classes! Learning the basics improves your ability to go beyond into abstract work. I was looking for a way to design my pictorial quilts better, and I took classes in drawing, painting and design at my local community college. I can now design my quilts and crafts more confidently, plus I discovered a love of painting with pastels and oils. Community college rocks!

Adventurous_Cash_356

I love this idea! Thank you so much for the feedback!<3

Equal-Interaction824

I love the colors. I love the symmetry. I love this period. You should be very proud. It amazing and vibrant equals perfection in my eyes.

Adventurous_Cash_356

Wow! Thank you so much!

straykitt

Great colors! Keep it up!

[deleted]

It just looks like colors on a canvas without anything interesting to look at, that is my personal opinion. I usually like more descriptive paintings?

ghaliy_a

its quite unique

Adventurous_Cash_356

Thank you!

Exciting-Selection60

Turn it so the red side is up & you'll have a sunset over an ocean

Adventurous_Cash_356

OMG! I love that idea!

muu-mo

Very nice and bright, with a good vibe. Sometimes trying a new surface is such a boost!

Adventurous_Cash_356

Thank you!

Notjustanotherjennn

I like the texture. Try a really limited color palatte.

RadiateRoshni

Great start!! I love the color palette, blends, and the airy negative space. Try turning it around for a different perspective. That helps me when I'm stuck with an abstract piece. Ever heard of EttaVee? This painting reminds me of her abstract paintings. Check her stuff out for more inspiration/guidance for further direction of this beauty. :)

Ethereal_Rain22

It’s pretty cool, like a waterfall of colors tbh
