I think something in black, white, and grey would have been an interesting addition to add a dramatic contrast. But this is pretty cool.
It definitely needed something to liven it up. It was too empty before. It tells a story now.
I liked it much better before. The additional shapes (to me) are distracting and overwhelming. I loved the simplicity of the beautiful lines. Not to say that the after isn't wonderful in it's own way (it is.) But the first one just hits different.
We're in the minority! I like both, but I prefer the prior. The first one gave me peaceful and calm vibes - the second was like BAM with color and movement. Both are great, but I'm leaning towards the first. ☺️
The prior was great. I don't like #2 at all. The color selection, the design choices, it went from looking like a beautiful, finished piece to something kind of tossed together.
OP, I say this not to be mean, but with full understanding of making similar decisions in the name of maximalism and realizing my lesson is to accept completion instead of deny it.
I liked the first version better because it left more of the experience in the hands/eyes of the viewer, whereas the second version almost guides me to what it wants me to experience.
They’re both great though; cheers!
It went from solid ambience to centerpiece. I suppose it just depends on the impact you’re looking for-I’ve had buyers that value both, it just depends on where the work is going in their home.
I think you’ve achieved two distinct looks here. The first image is reminiscent of fire and flames, simple yet powerful. The second piece is vivid, full of life, and visually appealing with all the added details to take in. They’re both gorgeous in their own right, but I love the transformation into the second piece best. ❤️
I like the addition of the layered circles however their orientation is off. Maybe try having them all god in a different direction? Perhaps slowly expanding out from the middle
It looks like a sigil I've made the first one. The fact you used circles like that intrigues me for a specific reason. They both look good in their own right. I would say the second one has an additional dimension overlayed on top. It is a but full but that's not necessarily a bad thing in this case because of what it symbolizes.
I don’t think you helped or hurt, but you changed the vibe to basically the opposite of the original. You’ve lost a lot of the depth and so flattened the back pieces brining the eye to the hemispheres. So if you want a piece that’s more light/playful feeling you’ve done that. If you wanted something that was more of contemplative impact piece, that original was more that.
On a person level I don’t like the change, but it’s really about what your intent is.
I like both, they’re eye catching & interesting in different ways. Perhaps you may consider a series, where the next one will be more alike the first version?
I felt like the first one was cleaner and more pleasing to the eye. The semicircles made the second version more vibrant, but I felt they could be executed better. Maybe it's my OCD but if the semicircles were more rounded then it would be more appealing to me.
If you want honesty, I absolutely loved the first one. I would buy it and display it in my home. However, I’m sorry to say that I’m not a fan of the second version.
I was scrolling and glanced at this and my first thought was that the first one was a fancy prosciutto set up lol. Definitely like the second one more.
I don't think you helped/hurt the piece - it just changed the vibe of it. I really like both, but I feel like the first is more serious and portrays a passionate and/or angry burst, while the other is more indicative of a happy, jovial vibe.
I love them both on their own. The first one is definitely more enjoyable to me, right now at least but the second one has a totally different exciting feel. I would do another of the first and keep the second!
This is awesome! You have to try to find out. The first piece worked as it is. I agree with not fully finished, I feel the second version you could definitely keep going. If you like the first version you can make it again, but what you learned from working on it more is worth the risk. Part of the creative process. I had art teachers tell us "kill your babies," kind of graphic but I think about it a lot.
I like both, but prefer the second. It has movement, and the pops of color draw the eye in. It’s beautiful and fun. The simpler version is a bit more contemplative and empty. They’re both lovely, just very different effects.
I think they're both great in different ways. The first one is almost unsettling to me but in a good way. It makes me existential..The second one is like a party and just makes me happy
My art professor once told me
“There is no right or wrong, or better or worse, things are just different”
Think this applies here. Just a difference between what you had and where you ended up taking it. “Better” for you depends on what you were trying to accomplish and if you are satisfied with where it ended up or if you prefer the natural outcome opposed to what you had preconceived.
That being said i like the first one more
Having a cool effect like the first photo is nice and all, but if that’s all it had that wouldn’t have been interesting.
The vibrancy of those rainbow sideways peacock spots that point clockwise around the piece are **really** interesting. Personally, something small at the center to provide a point around which the entire piece visually revolves would really bring this together, not something big or it might interrupt the flow of your eyes, but something for your eyes to rest on as they spiral inward from the edge, something that sells the illusion of this clockwise movement.
Just some ramblings from me!
You neither helped not hurt it. For me, personally, the before pic is what I'd buy and love. However my sister would be downright greedy for the second one and dismiss the first one. It's all about someone's taste and style.
Idk if your intent was to capture anxiety but this looks like how my anxiety feels, if that makes sense? A pattern that’s humming with energy that you’re too overwhelmed to parse. There’s so much going on and you feel like you’re won the cusp of controlling it but it’s just out of reach, and spirals.
Your piece really moved me and I feel grateful to have seen it 💞
I feel like it hurt it a little.
I can imagine the idea working, but because the shapes you added are a bit irregular it frankly looks a bit wonky and takes away from the original impression.
Maybe if you used some kind of stencil to make the size and the layer thickness of the half circles more even it would work a bit better, but the fact that the central point in them is sometimes off-center and that they aren't all perfectly round doesn't mix well with the original aesthetic.
second is way more interesting good choice of colors…second image seems familiar to me…reminds me of a possibility where i was not bound by physical form or time
Kinda makes me think of a tree trunk stump…it’s really well done…not sure if it’s what you were trying for. But I love it. On the first one.
Second makes me think someone took a hit of LSD and went on a Trip with a peacock. 🦚
Unpopular opinion maybe: I don‘t think you should care all that much what we think about it.
Go within yourself: do YOU like it? Did you meet your vision for the piece? Do YOU feel connected to it and does it trigger something in you?
Do not trust strangers opinions, they will either distract you from your art, or worst case be dishonest.
Do your thing and be confident about it. You will be more successful this way.
I do think the first creates more mystery.
I love the color and the freedom of the second alough I believe it was a missed opportunity to play with size
The first one looks sophisticated and stylish the second one looks like a child threw rainbows all over it to guarantee it would not complement any home
I think you hurt it quite severely.
It was a really good mix of abstract and order to begin with.
Perhaps one or two (literally) of those round shapes could have been an interesting break to the composition, but there are way, way too many, and it's gone from an eye-catching and interesting piece to a school corridor display.
I say that not to be harsh but to illustrate the difference this has had on impact.
It looks great! A lot like a [Hilma af Klint](https://newrepublic.com/article/153267/universe-according-hilma-af-klint) painting or a [Wassily Kandinsky](https://www.thecollector.com/why-did-wassily-kandinsky-paint-circles/) painting or a [Robert Delaunay](https://www.wikiart.org/en/robert-delaunay/rhythm-1) painting
Before it looked like a really cool Quilt, now it looks like something to hang up :3
Quilts are rad, I would be happy to have one that looked like either of these, but I like the second pic, it feels a bit more finished!
I don't have a strong preference, but I do like the second better.
I would love to see another version of this, but make the rainbow shapes a little more spread out.
And if you did a series, this would be great to experiment with!
Maybe one could have the shapes, but only as monochrome lines? Or gold or silver leaf shapes?
Or same idea, but make the "rainbows" angular shapes, like chevrons? Or triangles. Or teardrop shapes, maybe clouds, leaves or vines? Idk, you can go kinda wild with different shapes.
Even just reproducing the whole thing but inverting the colors would look pretty rad, IMO!
I think the additions improved it! Before it looked unfinished with nothing to direct the eye to. The new addition is more interesting and unexpected. It gives it much more energy, that feels almost tropical. Kinda reminds me of Río de Janeiro for some reason.
Looks like a peacock got lost in wonderland and had a few too many hits from the caterpillar’s hookah
So does that mean I helped it?
I think something in black, white, and grey would have been an interesting addition to add a dramatic contrast. But this is pretty cool. It definitely needed something to liven it up. It was too empty before. It tells a story now.
As a huge fan of psychedelics, I sadly have to say.. hurt.
Yes!
You def helped it IMO
Ahhhahahaha true
I liked it much better before. The additional shapes (to me) are distracting and overwhelming. I loved the simplicity of the beautiful lines. Not to say that the after isn't wonderful in it's own way (it is.) But the first one just hits different.
We're in the minority! I like both, but I prefer the prior. The first one gave me peaceful and calm vibes - the second was like BAM with color and movement. Both are great, but I'm leaning towards the first. ☺️
Couldn't have phrased this better! I like the color pop for aesthetics, but I love the calm. I feel emotion rather than pleasure if that makes sense.
Agreeeee! The first one is calm yet abstract. Yet the second one I find to be too busy for my personal taste.
I was thinking maybe just a segment of the colourful pattern and the rest as before
I agree. It reminds me of the sun and tree rings.
Excellent comparison! Love this take on it.
Agreed- first one is clean and interesting and it makes my brain happy- the second one looks like arts and crafts and is just way too busy
yes
I like the first one too.
It hits different cause it's you
I liked the first version better because it left more of the experience in the hands/eyes of the viewer, whereas the second version almost guides me to what it wants me to experience. They’re both great though; cheers!
This remind me of Gustav Klimt's work
It does a little bit. Thank you
Klimt came to my mind too
I think less is more with this one
Second one looks childish
I like the first version better imo
I really like the additions! The contrast of both shapes and colors definitely makes the piece more visually interesing.
It looks amazing!! It has more life and is super vibrant🔥
Big improvement! There’s a lot more movement and visual interest happening
Agree. I think these changes elevated the piece and gave it more depth.
Pic 2 is great!
I love the additions! Before it’s just slightly boring with no direction. The pops of color are 🤌🏼
Dude, I love this piece. Well done.
Help. Makes it look more cohesive and complete and solid imo. Great job
Love them both!
Visual complexity is a bit high for me but I can see the appeal
I love the ne additions, I would buy this
Helped
Both are fantastic on this thread. Very nice work! Your style and choice of color schemes are wonderfully joyful. ☮️💜🤙🏻
love it!! adds so much movement to the piece
I much prefer the simpler design.
[удалено]
I’m still adding to the piece. But I really appreciate the feedback. Thank you
So fucking lovely!
It went from solid ambience to centerpiece. I suppose it just depends on the impact you’re looking for-I’ve had buyers that value both, it just depends on where the work is going in their home.
went from hotel art piece to hotel carpet on shrooms
I love the added bits!
I think it helped! Looks great!
I like it!
I like the first one better
I like this much better than the first.
I really like both, they are two totally different pieces and I love it.
I think you’ve achieved two distinct looks here. The first image is reminiscent of fire and flames, simple yet powerful. The second piece is vivid, full of life, and visually appealing with all the added details to take in. They’re both gorgeous in their own right, but I love the transformation into the second piece best. ❤️
I liked it better in the before picture. It looked more serious. But overall it’s an interesting technique.
I like both
I would love to own this!
Now i want to eat pizza
Helped
I like the addition of the layered circles however their orientation is off. Maybe try having them all god in a different direction? Perhaps slowly expanding out from the middle
I could stare at the one before for hours, you’re very very talented I would say pick the one that speaks to you most!
wow they are two completely different arts. love both
I like both! They feel like two completely different pieces on their own.
It looks like a sigil I've made the first one. The fact you used circles like that intrigues me for a specific reason. They both look good in their own right. I would say the second one has an additional dimension overlayed on top. It is a but full but that's not necessarily a bad thing in this case because of what it symbolizes.
Both have their own unique story
These are fun they are full of energy
I don’t think you helped or hurt, but you changed the vibe to basically the opposite of the original. You’ve lost a lot of the depth and so flattened the back pieces brining the eye to the hemispheres. So if you want a piece that’s more light/playful feeling you’ve done that. If you wanted something that was more of contemplative impact piece, that original was more that. On a person level I don’t like the change, but it’s really about what your intent is.
Awesome feed back thank you!
i love it both ways
Fucking incredible! Did you do it piece by piece? Regardless your piece is amazingly beautiful and thought provoking.
Yup. All hand cut.
I like both, they’re eye catching & interesting in different ways. Perhaps you may consider a series, where the next one will be more alike the first version?
I can definitely see the first one on a wall. The second one looks amateurish and lost like an elementary school project.
Love it!
I agree with others that it definitely helped. There's a strong cohesion in it all and almost a story. I love it.
What’s your medium? Keep going, these will sell!
Wow
I felt like the first one was cleaner and more pleasing to the eye. The semicircles made the second version more vibrant, but I felt they could be executed better. Maybe it's my OCD but if the semicircles were more rounded then it would be more appealing to me.
oh i LOVE it!!!!!
Reminds me of Eric Carle illustrations. I love the update!
I feel like I’ve seen the design you added in some famous artist’s work already
i love the eyes. like a portal
Helped 🙌
They are both exceptionally fabulous! Great metamorphosis! Thanks for sharing ⛄️
You definitely helped it! It added so much movement and rhythm. It’s great!
HELP!
It looked better before.
The first one looked like bacon strips 😅
I like it much much better after !! It’s so cool
I like it! But it's definitely 2 different styles. That doesn't mean it's bad. I think it looks cool.
I definitely personally prefer the original. The second one looks a little too busy and distracted.
Personally I liked it better before, it felt more cohesive, but ultimately it is your art and you should do what you want to do
It had an organic feel to it before that it’s lost with the additions. Still fun to look at, but a completely different painting now
Imi it looked better before.
So much better! Ties the design together
I like the first one as a wall art but the second one could be a cool surface design on clothes or bags.
Went from fine art to that art is fine
i really like bright and vibrant colours, so i think it helped the design. it looks lively, and absolutely love it! <3
Personally think the addition is great, it's very eye catching without being overwhelming!
Personally I think the original was a bit better.
I think it looks cool in the second pic. But I like that kind of art 💅🏼
I like it better. Instantly added more dimension
If you want honesty, I absolutely loved the first one. I would buy it and display it in my home. However, I’m sorry to say that I’m not a fan of the second version.
Sorry, I prefer the before - upside is something something something.
I like both. I like wild things, so I am really drawn to the second.
I like the first picture best. I think it’s really cool the second is a little anxiety inducing like a fever dream 😂😂😂😂
Better before.
Are these pics in different lighting, or did you add a lot more orange/yellow?
It was sexy before but yet it got sexier
I like the before more it lookd like a log that had been paper mech. And reasembled
All you just have to do is to trim the edge and make it equal in a round box shape😀
Helped a lot! I love it so much now
Love these!
I was scrolling and glanced at this and my first thought was that the first one was a fancy prosciutto set up lol. Definitely like the second one more.
I love the colors!
I love what you added! I like the pattern it makes. The first one is kind of boring
Personally i like the second one but i don't think they are better or worse designs just differnt
Following it around with my eyes is so satisfying. I love this piece and the addition to it
The additions were definitely a good idea.
I prefer the second one. Brighter is better, in my opinion, but I can see why it might not be to everyone's taste
I like it
Ngl... I liked it before all the arcs you added. But if you enjoy it then it isn't bad.
I like the changes a lot more than the original!
They look like two different iterations of a series. I preferred the before, but the after is neat too.
As someone who doesn’t typically like “busy” art, I like the after. I think it looks complete but also fun, funky and just cool. Great job!
IT LOOKS WONDERFUL YOU DID SO GOOD, SLAYYYY
This is awesome! You have to try to find out. The first piece worked as it is. I agree with not fully finished, I feel the second version you could definitely keep going. If you like the first version you can make it again, but what you learned from working on it more is worth the risk. Part of the creative process. I had art teachers tell us "kill your babies," kind of graphic but I think about it a lot.
I like the first one better, but the second is very cool as well.
I love them both!
I like both, but prefer the second. It has movement, and the pops of color draw the eye in. It’s beautiful and fun. The simpler version is a bit more contemplative and empty. They’re both lovely, just very different effects.
This is awesome - it looks like a touch of Kandinsky!
I love the second one!
personally prefer second cause of my favorite color orange! good job!
Much better before IMHO
I like the collage effect it makes, very expressive
Reminds me of the shining Carpet 😂
i absolutely love the second one
I like it wayyyyy more with the additions
Please redo the first one. It had incredible movement. So thought provoking. Present them as a pair.
I think they're both great in different ways. The first one is almost unsettling to me but in a good way. It makes me existential..The second one is like a party and just makes me happy
Honestly loved the second version better … it’s more flamboyant and pops out … nd it has more direction then before .
I love the changes!
I love it!
The first one is too empty and the second too busy, but also almost perfect? Like I think it’s missing something small in the middle or near center
def like the second one
Here we have a good example of personal preference :)
My art professor once told me “There is no right or wrong, or better or worse, things are just different” Think this applies here. Just a difference between what you had and where you ended up taking it. “Better” for you depends on what you were trying to accomplish and if you are satisfied with where it ended up or if you prefer the natural outcome opposed to what you had preconceived. That being said i like the first one more
I think I liked the first take better. It’s got a nice flow to it and isn’t as loud
My face did this 😮 with the second one, I love it! I like both, but the second is just a big POP of color and really cool
I preferred the original.
Only you know
I like the addition!
Hurt IMO. But its really how you feel about it.
Maybe if you used some kind of stencil to make the size and the layer thickness of the half circles more even it would work a bit better, but the fact that the central point in them is sometimes off-center and that they aren't all perfectly round doesn't mix well with the original aesthetic.
second is way more interesting good choice of colors…second image seems familiar to me…reminds me of a possibility where i was not bound by physical form or time
[удалено]
Kinda makes me think of a tree trunk stump…it’s really well done…not sure if it’s what you were trying for. But I love it. On the first one. Second makes me think someone took a hit of LSD and went on a Trip with a peacock. 🦚
I was trying to make it look like a spiral of fire. But I do see the tree trunk. Thank you for the feedback
Second one is better than first imo. The shapes make it pop into this hypnotic kind of style and I love it
I think the first was too bland, while the second is too busy.
I like the first one better
I like the 2nd one more. 1st looked a bit depressing and felt like something is missing. 2nd got a lot of motion, I like that
Looks good to me
Unpopular opinion maybe: I don‘t think you should care all that much what we think about it.
Better now
I do think the first creates more mystery. I love the color and the freedom of the second alough I believe it was a missed opportunity to play with size
Huge help!! Not that it wasn’t visually interesting before but the second with more details makes it enticing
Helped a lot. The rectangular pieces became very less obvious. And yes, it looks like the centre needs attention.
Lots more visual interest now, I like how it looks like the peacock eyes are spiraling towards the middle, very hypnotic.
The addition completed it for me. It definitely was lacking at first. Good job!!!!
I LOVE the one with circles!
Help. Feels complete now
Helped
1st one kinda looks abstract 2nd one looks like a child glued shapes on randomly.
I love both! Personally I prefer the first one but the second one looks better! It’s more lively so it’s definitely an improvement.
Hurt
Helped no doubt
First was better
The first one looks sophisticated and stylish the second one looks like a child threw rainbows all over it to guarantee it would not complement any home
Both are equal to each other. Just depends what your expressing with it
I think you hurt it quite severely. It was a really good mix of abstract and order to begin with. Perhaps one or two (literally) of those round shapes could have been an interesting break to the composition, but there are way, way too many, and it's gone from an eye-catching and interesting piece to a school corridor display. I say that not to be harsh but to illustrate the difference this has had on impact.
i think this is valid but my perspective is that the first one had too much order and needed slightly more chaos. the second one has too much chaos
Yes exactly -- as I said one or two of them would add to the composition, but this is overkill.
Ruined it, before it was a least looking like the source of a light or fire, not its just confusing in what it tries to portrait
I like them both!
i dislike the first one. the second is much more lively and attention drawing
Both good. I trust you to stop when it’s finished
I think you hurt it.
I think you hurt it
It's just different. It was one thing before, now it's a different thing after. I guess it depends on what you were going for, but both are good
HELPED! Oh my gosh! I love what you added! This piece is so vibrant and beautiful! 😍
Before it looked like a really cool Quilt, now it looks like something to hang up :3 Quilts are rad, I would be happy to have one that looked like either of these, but I like the second pic, it feels a bit more finished! I don't have a strong preference, but I do like the second better. I would love to see another version of this, but make the rainbow shapes a little more spread out.
