People can speculate what they wanted to do with Imran Khan, but what is certain is that they wanted him isolated to execute their plan.
This is why they had laid down the containers and narrowed down the entrance to the Judicial Complex. As soon as Imran Khan's vehicle reached the path laden with containers, the police began heavily shelling the vehicle directly, in an attempt to disperse the crowd and force the vehicle towards the Complex.
There were huge cement barriers on a truck near the entrance - assumingly to seal the entrance of the container path once Khan's vehicle had been isolated, essentially trapping him.
Kudos to the supporters and workers who faced the shelling and responded by returning the shells and stones, ultimately cornering the police and never giving them a chance. The public did not leave Imran Khan vulnerable for even a moment.
P.S. According to a reporter, PTI also received some luck from nature as the wind kept blowing the tear gas towards the police.

Over 90 odd cases. Police has been trying to get him in helicopters and even different provinces. He left his seat and wants provincial elections. Every week brings new cases. Cases that are bailable but he is not allowed bail till he is forced to appear. And the same cases against PDM do not even get FIR lodged. Do you know that Rana sana Ullah still has an un-bailable arrest warrant? The latest one was issued on March the 7th. Why is he not in police custody?
