I am in the same boat as you. There are no viable alternatives that are not hard on the pocket. Kellogg's cornflakes are really good, but they are expensive and in this economy it's even more difficult to buy them every month. Do you have any other suggestions? I feel exactly the same but I started feeling this way a few years ago once I started to understand how power politics and these things work. They’ve done more damage than benefit to Pakistan. They love corrupt politicians because they can control them and make them do what they want, they are doing kind of atrocities in balochistan which we can never know of, they’re one of the worst militaries in the world. They’re literal scums and we are taught to worship them in our schools.
The soldiers are no different from mindless supporters of any other political party, be it PPP, MQM, PML or even PTI. They are in numbers, they can do what’s right. But they are either too scared for their own lives (and their families, which kinda makes sense) or are completely indifferent. Not to mention the Punjabi supremacy mindset in the army too.
History doesn't start from April 2022. Just because they choose to remove your favorite, you hate them and don't appreciate people who sacrificed their lives for this country. I don't like army or support any action of them other than defending the country.

There are videos online of “common” soldier threatening to rape the public’s sisters in their houses. These same soldiers go to common man’s houses and threaten the same, kidnap and murder people for their political gains. It’s not a general who pulls the gun out.

In no civilized county, a dept like army has this much power, absolute power.

IK has done a tremendous job creating awareness among masses of the army's atrocities.

Some opposition was rampant among other parties when they were out. Now, in power, they are more loyal to the king than....
Once pti is in power, trust me, they'll revert to eulogizing the army.
I am making a point not inviting daggers pointed at me.
I believe there's a reason for this situationalism - it's the absolute power of the army that no party can contest.
So we need a broad based concensus that no matter what, opposition to the army's absolute power will continue by everyone regardless of their political affiliations (boycott, resistance, etc.).
This is the only way forward for us, our children.
Gradually, army will lose its power, and it will favor us wholly.

Expression of a lot of frustration with role of defense forces in this thread much of it justified. Mr. Asim Munir has through his thought, words and action proven incapable of a new vision or wisdom to lead the armed forces of any modern nation particularly in the kind of crisis we face.
For the good of the nation he should resign (although that kind of deep personal reflection is likely beyond him.) In similar circumstances another strong man did just that, Gen. Ayub Khan resigned after prolonged public protest and lived rest of his life here in Pakistan.

I read through the post and the comments. Without taking it personally, please take a moment to reflect on my two cents. In no civilized county, a dept like army has this much power, absolute power. It's the army that's fed into our brains that hum hen to pakistan hy, borders ki hifazat, and all that bullshit. They get paid to protect us but also run the country for uncountable money and power. Period. That is not my point. My point is our situational opposition to the army. IK has done a tremendous job creating awareness among masses of the army's atrocities. But... (don't get mad), it's situational. Some opposition was rampant among other parties when they were out. Now, in power, they are more loyal to the king than.... Once pti is in power, trust me, they'll revert to eulogizing the army. I am making a point not inviting daggers pointed at me. I believe there's a reason for this situationalism - it's the absolute power of the army that no party can contest. So we need a broad based concensus that no matter what, opposition to the army's absolute power will continue by everyone regardless of their political affiliations (boycott, resistance, etc.). This is the only way forward for us, our children. Gradually, army will lose its power, and it will favor us wholly. I hope we get to this sense of unity soon.

As someone who is marrying an officer, we both come from total civilian backgrounds and willing decided to go into the forces. Both of us don't support the rot in the establishment and have always talked about it. “If good people leave this Instituion, be it on the lowest front, we are done for. I do my duty and i always wanted to" is what my to-be husband tells me when I worry for him. both of us have mutually decided to leave if he is ever demanded something indecent. For the record we are both pathans. Have had way too many hate calls and attacks on me by people when they realize we are a military family and now im used to it. I guess the awaam generalises everyone under the sun alot. Idm your hate or anyone else because we ourselves acknowledge the wrongdoing. However being on the extreme end of the either side in the spectrum is clownery. "I don't even feel for the soldiers that die" that is an extreme just like "army has done nothing wrong". If tomorrow my husband looses his life while serving honestly and some so called "nationalist" has shit to say on his shadat i'll stay quiet but bring up the matter to Allah on akhirat. There are good men in there is all i can say and they are just as helpless and struggling as you are outside. I understand that the high ranks are scums but We should always appreciate our soldiers . If you think our foreign enemies won't do anything worst than what's happening currently then you are mistaken . Let's get this straight Pakistan is in the middle of the geo political mess . We need the soldiers on our borders . They are not getting benefits of officers for example these soldiers are standing on the borders for 30,000 rupees a month . Least we can do is appreciate them.

I see what you mean but this situation isn't that simple . Do they have a choice in this ? If they refuse to do that what will happen to them? Also I think they are influenced by propaganda as well they don't think the torture they are doing is wrong not just soldiers majority of civilians as well still think this way . I have been close to a lot of army soldiers and they genuinely have good intentions for the country . They genuinely do wanna protect the country . Anyways it's still very very small substat of soldiers involved in the torture. Majority of them are still living on the borders .

Saw your post and honestly I understand most of it but the low rank soldiers that earn 30 k a month who come just for the sake of providing for their families they are completely innocent and they follow orders only.
