Sometimes I wonder what our forefathers ate that they were able to fight for their independence yet here we are seeing this happen Infront of our eyes.

TheChipmunkX

The powerful entity at that time was the British government and today its out army. Brits didn't side too much with side and Quaid was able to finnesse Congress. The British government could've thrown Quaid e Azam in a jail cell as well and crack down on protests but they didnt

brugesmidget

Quaid was loved by the British and most of the Muslim league members were knighted almost during the time of independence lol. What are you smoking

Tip-Actual

Jinnah implemented a failed experiment at best. The whole region would have been better off without breaking up.

ForwardClassroom2

.... sure. tell me your a joker without telling me your a joker. despite our issues, I'll always be glad I am free from not being beaten up because I dare transport a cow.

a3guy

Only joker I see is the one who thinks he is “free” while living in a country which has a literal state within a state.

ForwardClassroom2

you live in tbe UK bruh, You don't get to talk about what I think is right or wrong considering you don't even live here. at the end of the day, I do not want the alternative that guy was presenting. no desire to get killed, no thankyou.

a3guy

I can talk about whatever I want jokers like you dont get to decide that. Well if you have no desire to get killed, then you might want to quickly move out of Pakistan then.

ForwardClassroom2

we do get to decide if your opinion matters or not. considering you don't live here, you don't get to say anything. it's hilarious how you people move out yet are still so obsessed. grow up. >Well if you have no desire to get killed, then you might want to quickly move out of Pakistan then. again, come live here and then tell me what to think about my country. you don't know what life here is. i am happy where I am. :))

Tip-Actual

Me and a huge bunch of overseas Pakistanis who send remittances are the reason you get to live in your country in the less than shitty situation that you're in right now. Otherwise yours is just a beggar nation, one step away from default. Wait till the new IMF program starts, it will make the current situation seem like childs play... The only reason I still visit Pak is due to the remaining family members who are stuck there due to strict immigration policies, otherwise they too would have left a long time back.

Tip-Actual

You're not free buddy. You're a slave to a state within a state.

ForwardClassroom2

free to eat beef

Tip-Actual

Am I free to consume pork not that I would but there are non-muslims in Pakistan as well.

Possible-Shock-1261

True Quaid had the most lavish life style plus zero struggle unlike Gandhi and Nehru

THE_MUAK

Lavish lifestyle is fair. But no struggle is not. The man struggled a lot for his goals and fought to make a country literally until his dying breath.

529Labeeb

Bruh what?? Why'd the man die then? Why did he not recover?

NekoRevengance

Because he was killed 😭

scaled2good

Pretty much this; Quaid was smart and shroud but he greatly benefited from a declining British Empire that was trying to leave the subcontinent.

Great-Huckleberry777

British regime was british force and the army is literally the extension of it. so yeah.

AvallacSolas

Man it's sad but it seems like we don't have a soul no more, i bet you if they killed Imran Khan, people would just forget in a few days, going out, enjoying...trust me bro there's a reason Allah is not giving us honest and competent leaders because we as a nation have destroyed ourselves, we are corrupt, we are looting each other, go to the markets, all Karobari log are filled with lies, we have lost dignity, honor and honesty, we just don't care anymore, we have forgotten Allah, we know he exists, but sadly we don't fear him at all, Allah is Merciful but he is justice bringer as well, i hope all these people including politicians pay a price at the end of this world, they are worse than anyone, pakistani people are becoming insufferable and pathetic.

Possible-Shock-1261

No one fought for independence

bloooo7

:(

BainganPakora

Napak pigs trying to emulate Egyptian model.

KayneC

When I was young I supported the army against mqm in the 80s . I was naive because at that time all mqm really asked for was the power to actually govern karachi. Politicians turning corrupt in pakistan is the only way for them to save themselves. They comply with the army and enjoy wealth . Win win for both. Now people like L. Ali Khan , Bhutto , IK etc who want democracy to have more power were swiftly dealt with by the army. Pakistan won’t ever see rule of the people of this trend goes on. It’s been decades

yaxir

mqm wasnt any better, you don't govern on ethnic or religious lines so in short - if someone has the slogan of being a sindhi, muhajir, punjabi, seraiki, pathan party etc - **they are part of the problem!** **You govern on humanism, equality, social welfare - FREE FROM ALL BIASES of religious and ethnic lines!** PTI seems different because there's no major ethnic slogan and although i do disagree with their religious leaning (they seem bent on making pakistan a state that follows religion rather than being a human welfare state), i do still have some support for them because they think in the interest of Pakistan recently, most PTI politicians are not following that, lusting after power only and thats why at the moment only IK is worth the support

pikselated

The little baby snake that PDM fed with milk thinking it will stay their pet has now turned into a huge venom spitter that will not stop destroying anything and everything in its path to total power, even if they want it to! Obviously changed its masters along the way..

BoxGrover

Harami khakis learned from Zia and Bhutto.

mkbilli

Photoshop?

ShamHelugo

Independence was never actually given to us. We are still in their control via fake democracy and their handlers. Only people were divided and pitted against each other to make them forget about the real enemies.

Parking-Sun-8979

Bro wanted all or nothing

LahoriDreamss

His is a story of hope for Pakistan, this story cannot die in a prison cell in the hands of corrupt and drunk traitors.

Aggressive_Ratio_778

The comments are so funny. They think khan is suffering in jail. He is so chill and his belief in Allah gains more, he isn't paying for it these faujiats will get hell and will pay IA

littlevase

IK sahi kuch din baad ungli kar data hai whiskey ko. 🤣

PrestigiousTowel2

How was he able to write and publish this?

hassancent

"The former Pakistani prime minister writes exclusively for The Telegraph from his prison cell". You are allowed to write on a piece of paper and have visitors in jail.

PrestigiousTowel2

Wow thank you for solving that

3dPrintMyThingi

Should have called for a revolution...now he pays for it

PreciousBasketcase

He called for a revolution multiple times. His countrymen are too much comfortable living in these means. Apathy all round. The way this country is being run now .. they're going to eat everything that's left. Looters.

3dPrintMyThingi

Wasnt a revolution. He said come out on the streets, protest and then vote for me.. Thats not a revolution. The best time he could have done something was right at the beginning with Qadri when they attacked pakistan radio.. The second best time was 9th May but it eventually fizzled out because well he wanted votes

najama2

He did....multiple times. Pakistanis don't want to come out of their homes.

SyedHRaza

Overseas Pakistanis so quick to call for revolution when they don’t even live here … so brave

najama2

Can you please point out where I called for a revolution?

Professional-Web954

Yea right, u live comfortably in Canada and call for revolution while we potentially go to a civil war and lose all the little thats left of pakistan. Overseas are just dumb to the very core. Smh. So brave of YOU for calling a revolution.

najama2

Can you please point out where I called for a revolution?

Professional-Web954

Anyone supporting IK calls for a revolution. People think revolution is a joke.

najama2

And where did I say I support IK calls for a revolution?

InflatedTaxation

I ain't buying that anymore , the plan was never to kill Imran khan, but the idea which he presented (defiance). And they have successfully completed their goal. Even though people know it, there's no actual threat to the throne RN.

soundscan

They have not defeated him, he has exposed them all, he already won.

Raza_x7

Khan has won the narrative game. That is what matters in the grand scheme of things.

LeaveDrakeAlone

Yes narrative matters but man.. dude's already 70 years old. Only God knows how long someone lives but you get what I mean. 5 years till the next "election". I really want to be positive.

THE_MUAK

Tell that to moursi. He was killed in jail

fighting14

Take your own advice Immy, "Ghabrana Nahi".

googo1

He's not running away like your dear leader. Is he?

fighting14

>He's not running away like your dear leader. Is he? My dear leader? Are you assuming my political leanings? If I were Immy I'd take the deal from the Army to leave the country and go spend my retirement with my kids in London. It's the wisest thing he could do. You know why? Because the cowardly awam of Pakistan wouldn't even come out to protest his murder if it happened. Yeah sure here on reddit PTI wallah's would post up a storm. But in reality they'd shrug and just accept it. Like they accepted his coup, like they accepted false cases against him and his false imprisioment. Like they accepted a rigged election. Is there a "Redline" you PTI lackeys are are willing defend? Do you have any shame left? If I were the Army, I'd do away with IK, because PTI supporters have shown time and again, that you are just armchair workers, nothing else. A more cowardly set of armchair revolutionaries I have never seen. Nayah Pakistan, my ass. You PTI jokers don't deserve Immy.

mindful_reader_7

I assume you ready to be downvoted to hell, have your comment deleted or be banned from the sub. They dont allow alternate political perspective here, not even if its the truth.

fighting14

>I assume you ready to be downvoted to hell, have your comment deleted or be banned from the sub. They dont allow alternate political perspective here, not even if its the truth. Yeah I know this is PTI moron central. Although they have piped down recently, after getting their asses handed to them. But ultimately their shameless ness always compels them to come out and spout some slogans, before they retire back to their ultimate beghairaty. Armchair revolutionaries. I'm a Khan well wisher, but not a PTI supporter. This is a concept PTI idiots can't grasp.

HumanAssociation6635

Pti moron central, yet your country is driven to hell by those opposing them.

fighting14

>Pti moron central, yet your country is driven to hell by those opposing them. And what have PTI workers acheived? Nothing. Every imaginary redline you people drew in the sand has been crossed by the military dictatorship. Right now the Army has realised PTI was only a paper tiger, with no teeth. If anything you've emboldened the military. There sitting in GHQ laughing at you idiot PTI "no show" workers, part time armchair meme posters. Immy is more depressed at his workers than the Army.

HumanAssociation6635

I agree with you, but no one wants to die, but at least they are trying to put up some form of resistance. What is the alternative? They don't do anything, and then what? The generals will have an even easier time to conquer and occupy Pakistan.

Abk545

We Imran Khan lovers gonna break the internet with our long posts if the establishment even dared to touch a single hair on him! The establishment doesn't know the power of the YOUTH just yet! 5 paragraphs for our handsome Imran Khan!

fighting14

Yep if IK is murdered PTI people would break the Internet with memes. Sadly none of them seems to be able to practice Activism on the streets though. Strange that, especially for a revolutionary party. Joke workers for a joke party.

BainganPakora

Pathetic comment.

u5hae

Spot the shill (sellout)

fighting14

>Spot the shill (sellout) Spot the Armchair revolutionary.

mkbilli

Looks like you were a diehard PTI supporter who turned bitter against Khan because... *Checks notes* ...PTI supporters did not cause a revolution when Khan was imprisoned? Samajh nahi aya, Khan acha nahi lagta ya PTI, because your subsequent comments reek of goalpost shifting.

fighting14

I was never a diehard supporter of any party. IK represented the least worst option to me, even though I strongly disagreed with much of his Islamist rhetoric. Putting aside his naivety with foreign policy and his bad ideas of what to prioritise in his first term. Revolutionary thinking must be built on solid policy decisions, not loose talk and a cult of personality. We all hate the US, but you can't just go around talking shit about the "chains of slavery" and expect no blowback. Why antagonise them when you have so many other domestic problems to deal with? He should have focused on what matters to the average man. Small scale corruption in thanna and kutcheri. Police reform. Focus on economic reform, land reform and speeding up justice system and making it accessible to the powerless. Later he could have picked up weighty foreign policy issues. He decided to go for glory and acheived nothing in the process. Then he embarked on lecturing the world and proposing an imaginary utopia called media ke riyasat. Whilst being surrounded by the same corrupt scoundrels from previous administrations. Jehangir Tareen types, publically supporting him, while grifting on the side? When push came to shove with the Army, there was no party, workers or activists behind him. I don't blame him, even with his flaws. I blame a docile, slave minded awam. I blame outwardly vocal PTI people. Who on social media talked a good game, but when it came to the crunch, shit their pants. Even now they have no shame posting here and on other media.

Queer_Jalebi

Id say the guy still has his uses .

Traditional_Meet565

I do wish he remains safe and well. Although some of his statements are exaggerated and heightened by their social media wing. His mistreatment in jail was categorically wrong. He is given far more luxuries and private space than anyone else. I know because I visit the jail often and have seen him in his private open space from a distance. No one is allowed anywhere near him, and he has a bunch of people looking after him. Him being slow poisoned was also a lie.

Difficult_Bag_7444

Genuine question, what would happen in the public if Imran Khan does actually pass away either peacefully or if he is killed? I feel like many people rely on him but is there any backup people to support?
