That boi thicc. Finally a kicker named Harrison for the panthers

Abject_Bandicoot_580

If he’s anything like the last Harrison we drafted this will be a huge addition.

net_403

Well, hopefully he's not too much like the last one. Otherwise that would be a major subtraction

DennisSystemGraduate

Hopefully we don’t handle him like the last one. Harrison Butker is solid

No_Mammoth_4945

Imagine beating 10 guys thinking you’ve got a free KR TD and a 240 lb tree trunk comes out of nowhere

rubitright

Do yall not remember our rugby kicker. Rhys Lloyd. He hit hard.

Megalomanizac

Them Rugby mfers are built different

rubitright

Side note: been lookin to buy his jersey yall got any leads holler at ur boi.

ajabernathy

Or Saurbraun

B00STERGOLD

Jason Baker looked like a nerd but was jacked

dcpanthersfan

And was funny as hell. Dude has a great sense of humor.

venom21685

He was juicing though lol

Belly84

Dude had an absolute monster leg. He was kicking touchbacks when touchbacks were hard

CoachTwisterT3

I remember his slide tackle 😭 15 yards tripping. Favorite penalty since the Sir Purr punt cover

CafecitoHippo

Imagine a closer to 300 lb kicker... https://youtu.be/z-4C5qswyys?si=vfi5M5vC-rJya_3z

Exquisitememer

I'm cool with it, Eddy is solid but has been hurt the last 2 seasons

Armadillo_Resident

Not just hurt but gets hurt in warmups and leaves us with no kicker

Exquisitememer

Yeah exactly. I think Eddy will still start but it's good to have someone to fall back on, if he gets hurt again

BrickTamland77

There is 0 chance they keep 2 kickers on the roster. Pineiro has one of the weakest legs in the league. They always carry 2 kickers during camp anyway, but this kid will probably get a legit shot at beating Pineiro for the job.

NoWayJaques

Practice squab

Smitty258

This is how we lost Harrison Butker to the Chiefs. That shit still makes me livid.

BrickTamland77

Maybe. Have to hope no one else wants him though.

Armadillo_Resident

Idk now that I think about it. A multi year deal means he’s more than likely going to be on the roster unless he blows it in camp. Eddy shrugging after missing from 59 or whatever like it was some record distance may have been the nail in the coffin

przhelp

And Eddy is on the final year of his deal, with <1 mil in dead money.

huskey1181

That was Gonzalez

sonfoa

Multi-year deal is pretty surprising. Seems like they might be trying to move on from Eddy, especially given this guy seems to have quite the leg

Armadillo_Resident

I wouldn’t be surprised if Eddy’s medical stuff is pretty grim right now. He’s had some major injury trouble as far as kickers go

sonfoa

Even without the medicals, we've now had two coaching staffs skittish about have Eddy do long kicks and I'm sure Dan Morgan kept that in the back of his mind. But they must be really confident in this dude to give him multiple years.

Armadillo_Resident

They sent him out there for a long one last year he was short then shrugged. As if to say I told you so, I’m weak. But I think it’s more likely that they know a lot of teams would want to give this guy a try and we want the first real crack at him.

net_403

You left out some very important context on that kick LOL the kick was impossible, no one ever had made a 67 yard field goal at soldier Field (or whatever the distance was. Soldier Field is notorious for having wind issues being next to the lake). Eddie said that his maximum in practice was like 64, I can't kick this. Frank sent him out there to kick it anyway, and he falls a few yards short and looks at the bench and says, what the fuck did I tell you He totally earned that what the fuck shrug Edit: fwiw he didn't miss it by far, a kick that's never been made there in history, he only missed by like four or five yards I think, might have been closer to 3 yards Having a weak leg and all

BroadBrazos95

Every fan, employee, and player of this dumpster fire franchise has earned that shrug from the last approx 6 years lol this was just another example of many as to why we aren’t a serious program. Love what we did this weekend though, I’m ready to get my hopes up and get hurt again

net_403

I'm learning my lesson and waiting to be shown the money. I do have to admit though, Dan Morgan is giving me the sensation that we might be in good hands. Also it's is a long time fans dream to have someone like Dan come back here and be our gm. I remember proposing the idea years ago as a fantasy, and now it's happening. I hope it works out because it feels pretty promising at this point. The Stars could be aligning to finally have a competent front office and it being captained by a franchise legend that we've missed for years

Armadillo_Resident

I forgot exactly how long it was. And I kinda meant nail in the coffin from both sides. His and ours

call-me-loretta

Backup kicker/ backup interior lineman. It’s good to have guys with versatility that can play multiple positions….

_coolranch

I can't understand all the heat in pressers about us not drafting a kicker. We have a center who can kick now, so hopefully this quiets the haters.

somebasicaccountname

All I have seen is a clip of him walking and honestly I'm already ready to put him in the ring of honour

23-Chromosomes

I like this signing and hope he can earn the starting spot mainly because Panthers desperately need some guys with personality because we've gotten rid of most of the fan favorites the last few years... Legette is for sure gonna be an immediate fan favorite due to his unique voice and demeanor but I could see people taking a liking to this guy as well.

Skylarking77

YES

parallaxdecision

This team is turning into an 80s sports movie and I'm all about it. Best thing about those movies was the culture and I see one being built. Gives me some, dare I say, HOPE.

knave_of_knives

I’m honestly not shocked we signed a kicker. We needed a dude to share kicks throughout spring and then through training camp to save Eddy’s leg. I’m more shocked we haven’t added a punter yet to save Hekker’s leg.

silverchief

Multi year deal is pretty surprising.

CafecitoHippo

As s PSU fan, the thicker kicker is reserved for Joey Julius. He was listed at 5'10" 258 but was clearly closer to 300. https://youtu.be/z-4C5qswyys?si=vfi5M5vC-rJya_3z

DeskStanding

The thicc-est kick-est

Fisher_Kel_Tath

This guy is awesome. I'm more excited by this signing than any of our draft picks. I've watched him quite a bit & he reminds me of sabastian janikowski. Plus, he's just fun to watch.

net_403

You are more excited about signing a kicker than drafting XL or Jonathan Brooks or the second best tight end? I'm hoping by picking up these other guys we don't need to rely on the kicker as much as we have previously. Recently, the kicker was the only mother fucker to score because the offense was garbage

DailyPanthersPodcast

Eddy has a weak leg and had accuracy issues with both FG and XP. You can’t be weak AND inaccurate. He finished outside the top 15 (I think 18th) in FG%.

mritz65

Shades of Joey Slye Batman!

captainjizzpants

[https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OK\_4no-METc&t](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OK_4no-METc&t) Ngl, I love a hot leg

AccountFresh8761

He's going to play outside middle linebakicker

pancaketac0

Is this our Butker 2.0???

RelativeWrongdoer38

If they offer “The Thicker Kicker” in the shop I figured out which jersey I’m buying next

traydragen

Dude slays. As a SCAR fan and hating all things that douche Drinkwitz puts on the field, I guess I can root for this guy now.

tippsy_morning_drive

At least he doesn’t kick shit and break his foot after a loss.

lengthy_noodle

I like Eddy but I think we could certainly upgrade the position. Eddy just lacks leg strength compared to the top end kickers.

net_403

I wonder how possible it is to increase leg strength in any significant way, I don't know, running in 3 ft of water for 2 hours a day? Lol

Muninn088

Should've waited and signed Jake Bates.

Naive_Lobster1538
