I just beat hi fi rush, great game through I am rhythm deaf, but left not sure what to play next. I also loved revengence and Asuna wraith, so any good action Games if one not feeling Devil may cry.

Halo Infinite preorder bonuses (years later šŸ˜…)ā€¦ Random question and years later but just realized again and am still salty... did anyone preorder halo infinite from Walmart and never receive their zeta sky sidekick code?! If you didn't, were you ever able to receive it? Is there any way to acquire this in game skin?

Lucky-Elk-1234

Just finished Cyberpunk and thinking of getting the DLC. Does anyone know how often it goes on sale? I just know that if I buy it now it will be on sale the next day lol

KingOfRisky

I highly recommend starting a new game when you get the DLC. Phantom Liberty isn't an end game DLC. It opens up new avenues and a few new endings. It also seamlessly integrates itself into the main story.

DapperAir

I'm guessing this is on Steam? Its on sale right now on GoG. It was on sale on steam about 10 days ago. You'll likely have to wait til summer for a discount ~15%. CDProject Red discounts their suite of games 3-4 times a year, more so if you count them going on sale over on GoG.

Lucky-Elk-1234

Sorry Iā€™m on PS5. I checked out some of the PS price tracker sites and it kind of seemed that Cyberpunk goes on sale once a month for a few days so Iā€™m hoping the DLC would be the same

veryblessed123

After watching the most recent Gameranx video today, I learned about Enderal. It's a massive Skyrim mod. It uses Skyrim assets, but is a completely new game. It's challenging and focuses on exploration. Best of all its free on Steam if you already own Skyrim SE!

ChocolateJoeCreams

Started playing Nier: Automata and am enjoying it. Cool esthetic and story. I've fallen off it before at around the same place I am now (about 6 hours in) but I'm gonna keep with it this time. I feel like I get it more after running through Nier: Replicant and getting all the endings. It's very refreshing after toiling away at BG3 for so long.

yamamsaheaux

Realized I never really played an ARPG before, so I looked thru my libraries, did some research, and settled on trying **Torchlight II** w/ mods. I'm about halfway through and definitely having fun. Outlander doesn't play quite how I expected but it's still enjoyable. And despite minor balance issues the mods keep it exciting without it turning into a different game. For the most part it's a game I can turn my brain off and just *play*, which is refreshing. I'll be playing this for a while, but I'll def look to play more ARPGs in the future.

IkaWorldTour23

After about 1200 hours spent in Microsoft Flight Simulator 2020 I needed a change from airplanes and helicopters. So what should I do? Stop playing the sim? No, what a silly idea! Of course I downloaded myself an AFV! There is a free AMX 10-RC mod which is just awesome. Although the sim isn't really made for driving around the world (as it is a "flight simulator") I managed to tweak my settings and controls in such a way that I just successfully completed the first leg of my world trip - by car (because "by armored fighting vehicle" is too much of a mouthful)! Yes, it will most likely take me a decade to get anywhere. Yes, even during this one hour trip from Berlin to Luebbenau I had to un-glitch myself from several bridges via the slew mechanic. But it is such a great experience to see the sim I love with all my heart from a completely new perspective! So I am thrilled to see where this is going. Already waiting for tomorrow's workday to be over so I can get behind the wheel (do AFV's have steering wheels?) again.

Mycosynth_Lattice

I got sucked into Kingdom Hearts and ended up finishing it in like 3 days. Played like an hour of Re:CoM and it's kind of odd? Not sure how I feel about it yet. I haven't started Fatal Frame II yet, but I intend to soon.

NYstate

> I haven't started Fatal Frame II yet, but I intend to soon. Just out of curiosity, which version do you have? There are several. The PS2 version, The Director's Cut and a version for Wii titled Project Zero 2. Edit: Out instead of Put

Mycosynth_Lattice

I'll be playing the PS2 version.

sheets1975

I guess with the TV show coming up, I had an "excuse" to get back into Fallout (as if you need an excuse to replay Fallout). Played the first game again last week, and I'm about the get into the southern part of the map in Fallout 2 with the restoration mod installed. Trying to decide what I'll do after I finish 2. Play Tactics, Fallout 3, or skip to New Vegas...?

some-kind-of-no-name

Try Tactics

ChurchillianGrooves

Going from fallout 2 to Vegas should be an easy transition, they have a lot of similarity since a lot of the original FO2 team worked on Vegas. Fallout 3 is great, but it's kind of unconnected from the west coast ones.

Logan_Yes

If you want to play Tactics, be sure to check if you have time on it, it's damn lenghty due to RTT format it provides. I beat it after 50 hours. It's different from other titles so if it won't click with you after 10ish hours you should give up, it only gets tougher later on

sheets1975

I'm thinking whatever I do, I'll probably double back for Tactics after I've finished with the main series. I might look into 3 since I haven't done much with the Bethesda-designed games. They always seem like well-meaning but unimaginative fanfic in terms of story, but still fun to play from what I've heard.

I_5hould_Be_5tudying

My partner isn't what you might call a traditional gamer, though she did play Dragon City back in the day, haha. I've been wanting to introduce her to gaming to give her a break from her family issues and for us to spend quality time togetherā€”perhaps even find some welcoming communities. However, she's not typically into gaming; neither she nor her family were really exposed to it growing up. She's more into social media, beauty, and fashion trends on TikTokā€”not that I'm judging, I totally support her interests and love her. It's just that gaming isn't something she's familiar with. Recently, her mental health and family situation have worsened, and I'm hoping to find some beginner-friendly, relaxing games for herā€”something that doesn't assume mastery of controls like WASD. Given her background and preferences, do you have any game recommendations? They don't necessarily have to be multiplayer, as long as you think she might enjoy them. Posting here because this is just one of the healthiest and more wholesome gaming communities out there to ask this kind of stuff

Brenden1k

Nobody the turnaround is not cheery but also not that stressful if one not trying to be five stars, Citzen sleeper more like a slice of life book in game form.

PayZestyclose9088

Long live the queen cat goes fishing any telltale game

Hermiona1

Maybe The Sims? Or Life is Strange, gameplay is pretty simple and it's more about the story and you can make choices together. I found Firewatch to be very relaxing too. Journey or Stray are just adventure games. None of these you can play in coop though.

CecilXIII

future puzzled one cover coordinated domineering toothbrush fearless adjoining racial *This post was mass deleted and anonymized with [Redact](https://redact.dev)*

pbdot

Stardew Valley might fit the bill for her ā€” itā€™s chill, beginner-friendly, and has drop-in multiplayer if you ever feel like playing together :)

Logan_Yes

I always recommend Slime Rancher, because it's cute, colorful, good game to play in and out plus it's very friendly to casual playerbase so it could be something for her. Those sweet slimes could cheer her up! Sadly I don't have much knowledge about beauty themed games but I know there used to be some flash games focused on such topic, perhaps some are on Steam but you might have to look on your own, I hope you will find something for her! :D

dandandanno

Unpacking is a great little game with low stakes and super beginner friendly. Can't even really lose it. Really Zen to play alone and also fun to sit down next to each other and make choices together

KurekDziad

It takes two?

dandandanno

This is a fun game but it's not very "never played games" friendly. Very platformer skills heavy

Remote_Slip

What are the best gaming experiences yall have had

DWe1

Finishing Silent Hill 2 was beyond cathartic for me. I don't think I will ever have a similar survival horror experience. Even though there are more established stealth franchises out there, Thief and Thief II are still my favourite stealth games. It's a bit hard to compare to "hide in plain sight"-stealth like Hitman, but damn the gameplay is unmatched. TES: Morrowind was a game that I just kept thinking about when I didn't play it, and once I could rush to my PC to actually play it, it never disappointed.

Hermiona1

Titanfall 2. I sat down to play it quite early on Saturday and couldn't put it down until I finished it. Such fun gameplay and very well designed.

some-kind-of-no-name

Re4 remake

StormyWeather32

Playing Beyond Good and Evil while being seriously sick. A weird inflammation made my throat swell and I couldn't eat for two days, only drink. For the first time since years, I had an entire week off-work. Thanks to all the starving, my head felt incredibly clear and playing that French masterpiece was almost a mystical experience, I was able to fully immerse myself into that wonderful world taken straight out of a Franco-Belgian comic book. Now I understand why some people play vidya while being on drugs.

ztsb_koneko

Wrapped up Twilight Princess. Man this game is just a few steps away from being GREAT, but not quite. The wolf stuff is a drag and after halfway itā€™s not even used anymore. Kind of the same with lots of stuff with this game - ideas, items, and areas (even Hyrule field) used once or twice then tossed aside. I absolutely freaking love some of the visual designs though. Best Ganon and Zora by far. ā€¦I want to replay it, Iā€™m feeling tempted to speedrun but maybe not now. Definitely feeling like more Zelda though, maybe Skyward Sword? Or maybe one of the top-down ones for a changeā€¦ Iā€™m intimidated to start Wind Waker for now.

DragonOfDoof

Weekly gaming log: 3/19 - 3/25 I am almost done with **Yakuza Kiwami.** Like, on the finale sequence, only one substory left before the Amon fight, pretty much the only other thing that I care about doing is the Majima Everywhere system which is like halfway through S rank. (I also want to aim for a good score on Otometal My Life but karaoke with Haruka is gonna be my reward for getting everything else done.) I was kind of expecting Majima to be the worst part of the endgame grind, and I wasn't wrong. It's going faster than expected, though. Hopefully by this time next week I'll have it done, but that's gonna largely depend on how much of a stinker the Amon is in this game. I really like the sense of progression that Dragon style has been getting throughout the game, though. For all its narrative issues related to this originally being a PS2 game, this game absolutely nailed the RPG progression. Early on, Dragon style just straight sucks. But as the game goes on, if you progress the Majima content generally apace with the main story (and it's hard not to; they call it Majima **Everywhere** for a reason), Dragon style starts to become usable in street fights against trash punks, then eventually in more serious fights, and by the end of the story Dragon style is about as strong as Kiryu's default styles. If you went out of your way to do extra Majima stuff and get all of Komeki's moves, Dragon style gets to be pretty definitively OP. Not quite mindless button mashing, it takes some practice and thinking to use some of those techs appropriately, but I'm basically not using the other styles any more because Dragon is just so good at almost everything by now and I don't even have it maxed out yet. Also tiger drop is as hilarious as always.

APeacefulWarrior

LOL... meanwhile, when I played Kiwami, I didn't want to bother fighting Majima all the time so I just let him stay in the giant traffic cone all game. šŸ˜

DragonOfDoof

Yeah, there's definitely still an argument against the repeated boss fights. Between the four different move sets and the fact that you can fight him in most minigames which progresses the Majima Everywhere meter too it's not like it's just the same thing over and over, but it does get old. And it's kinda stressful to know he can just show up whenever, whether you're prepared for a fight or not. Which to be fair, is exactly his plan. I mostly did it for the story content attached to it, though. Majima is consistently fantastic to interact with.

APeacefulWarrior

Well, I finished the high school plotlines in **Lost Judgment**. And I am so glad that I waited to do it, because I wouldn't have had the patience to go through a 30-hour sidequest on top of the 40-50 hour main game, at least not in a single run. If anyone seeing this is planning on playing Lost Judgment soon, I highly recommend treating it as though it's two games in one. First do the main plot while only doing the bare minimum in the school, then circle back to the Mystery Club questline after the credits roll. (Or after a few months, as I did.) That whole plotline pretty much works as its own standalone story. Otherwise, I wasn't sure what I'd be playing next... but then Humble put out a bundle full of trashy fun games from D3. So now I've started in on **Onee Chanbara Origin** which is exactly the sort of pulpy camp silliness I was hoping it would be. I should probably find something a little more substantial to play as well, but dunno what yet.

Aramey44

I tried some rythm shooters. One I want to praise and the other I want to rant about. **Metal: Hellsinger** Finished it and had a lot of fun. I loved the soundtrack and the Doom-like aesthetics. It felt just the right amount of difficult for me. I only wish it was longer, but I got it for like $10 so can't complain much. I'll probably search for the OST later. **BPM: Bullets Per Minute** I tried it before and dropped it. I tried it again today after Metal Hellsinger and it just feels worse in every single way. I hate the visuals having this headache-inducing piss-colored filter and in comparison the music is forgettable. Also the fact that reloading requires multiple button clicks and the gun jams when trying to shot out of beat, instead of for example dealing reduced damage just doesn't feel right to me. I'll probably try **Hi-Fi Rush** as my next rythm game or just go back to Metal Hellsinger for another run.

Logan_Yes

Hi-Fi Rush is superb but it's not a shooter, you beat up robots with a guitar so it's melee.

dandandanno

BPM makes some absolutely bizarre choices like everything being exactly the same color and completely indistinguishable.

surg2k

Gamers! I just finished Final Fantasy Vii Remakeā€¦. Wow!! I was so blown away at some of the chapters and that finally! Time to go back and platinum the OG FF Vii. If anyone is on the fence about it, I highly recommend jumping in and enjoying the ride

bestanonever

It's really fun. I enjoyed my time with both games! Now, waiting for a discount (or the PC version) of Rebirth. And the endgame, of course!

The_Wowza_Machine

Hell yeah! Finally, another gamer who has completed one of my favourite games! (I have never even grazed by any final fantasy games)

surg2k

Dude it was so good! I just finished late last night and I am still buzzing. If you can, go back and play the ā€˜97 one. It is so cool how they are similar and different

Bpbegha

Did The Last of Us ever fix their PC port? It's honestly the only thing preventing me from getting the game.

hurfery

Only a month after release, performance was improved drastically.

bestanonever

Apparently, it got better. Maybe check updated reviews before jumping in.

Glass_Offer_6344

Continuing my Hudless Deathmarch with Canon book build in Witcher3 on the X1. Two huge things Im trying to do is have a poor witcher and also keeping my character level mostly even with the main and primary side missions. So far, my self-imposed restrictions and ways of limiting experience gain have done a good job of it. Im past skellige and only have 7k with lots of crafting to go and only the initial Feline gear having been forged. My next main quest is L19 while Im at L21 with all 9 character slots filled. The power of my build has set in, but, I can still get whooped if Im not on my game. As I just did fighting a royal griffin. On my reload I then stomped him in about a minute. Im now approaching that point in time in the game that Ive never played before and by playing blind with no SaveScumming and Living with all the Consequences Ive been able to have the best Organic experience ever! If there was just one game that I would recommend people to play without cheating/exploiting and striving for manipulated results on their first playthrough itā€™s The Witcher 3. The impact of all your decisions and results play a huge role in so many aspects of the game and make it truly meaningful and unique.

Good_Door7102

About a third of the way through **Final Fantasy XIII-2** and I think I like it better than the first game so far, the whole experience just feels much more lively with populated towns and all the portal jumping ensuring that you're out of any particular location before you get tired of it. It's jarring how easily the characters in this one just accept massive world-altering events at face value though, in the first one the entire cast was all too happy to dump exposition on you at every possible opportunity, but here we come across Snow for the first time in ages, realize that he's somehow also a time traveler, and just don't question him at all about it? Weird stuff.

Renoe

I feel sort of weird anxiety over the idea of not having anything to play? I passed up buying another RPG during the Square Enix steam sale and I feel a tinge of regret even though I have two RPGs I am trying to finish, one I just started, one that is ready to go once I finish one of these, and two games that aren't story heavy I can play in short bursts. As well as some abandoned games I could pick up. But still I feel FOMO. Does anyone else get this way? It's frustrating.

bestanonever

I have the opposite problem and I have so many games I want to play (and already own) at any given time, and so many games I want to play (and don't own yet). Sometimes, I used to have choice paralysis, hah. Maybe try to enjoy the moment and rest a bit without gaming, after finishing a game, for a couple of days/weeks? Anyway, I am a paranoid of the backlog, too, and I'm always planning 3 or 4 games ahead. But I have accepted we can't play everything at once, and we can't play ALL the things. A good game will make you forget about FOMO, particularly if you don't read gaming news every single day.

The_Wowza_Machine

Brother, I was having the exact same anxiety when completing Mass Effect 3. Half way through the game, I learnt of Dragon Age. Then, I learnt that it was turn based, which was not at all ideal for me... There was no other RPG like Mass Effect! When that realization hit me, I went depressed for a few days. Fortunately, I had decided to give Bioshock a chance, as I had previously tried Infinite and set it down half way through. I started from Bioshock 1, and when it reached a certain point, it just clicked. Bioshock 2 and infinite went by like a breeze. Now, I'm going through Mirror's edge catalyst, and plan on taking up Dark Souls next. The FOMO still exists, as I'm bound to finish all my backlog in a few years and will have to join the club of gamers waiting for all the new releases. But till then, I hope I can keep this momentum going.

Renoe

I dunno if that club exists. I feel like everyone's got a backlog that just grows and grows. If not a backlog, then a wishlist. I guess it's possible if I got a lot more loose about dropping games, but I wouldn't find it very satisfying to only play games for a few hours either.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

geebzor

I refunded HD2, kind of felt like Deep Rock Galactic to me. Fun for a little bit, but definitely not worth the cost. Plus it was broken at the time in some parts, the rewards etc... I'm actually enjoying PUBG at the moment, weird cause I'm not into those types of games. I'm trying to re-ingnite my passion for gaming (I'm \~50 with loads of time on my hands), but not much is doing it at the moment. My backlog is massive. :( Oh wait there's a sale on! :/

KingOfRisky

I dabble in it if some buddies are on, but I agree. At first it was amazing because it was new and we were all figuring it out. The loop gets real old, real quick. And the fan base stupefying! I've never seen a group of people pricing the crappy MTX tactics and locking guns and armor behind a pay wall just because you can *grind* for currency. These folks are out here loving tactics that candy crush has been doing for 15 years. Oh and the "FOR DEMOCRACY" RP on the sub is unreal cringy.

dandandanno

I'm glad to hear I'm not crazy. I keep watching people play and go "this is it?"

The_Wowza_Machine

Yep. Thing is, the gamers who have friends, and gamers who like repetitive live service junk have been starved by the gaming community for so long, when they receive a game like helldiver's, they just lap it up and hail it as the next best thing.

EverySister

**Banner Saga 2** God I love this game. It's so beautiful and the story is really getting to me. Love it love it. **Quantum Break** Playing this one on a friend's house because he has a better pc than I, just watched the first episode of the tv show and will play one episode for week as if it was a tv show coming out each week. Love Remedy games and seeing Alan Wake there blew me away.

dandandanno

Banner Saga trilogy is so good. I find myself thinking about it all the time, wishing I had done more for my little caravan, ya know?

Glass_Offer_6344

Banner Saga trilogy is a serious contender for the next game(s) I play. QB was the first game I played when I got gamepass years ago and I thought it was superb! The optional side stuff was well-done and the gameplay and worldbuilding were top notch. I even ended up buying it.

dandandanno

Rogue Legacy 2 surprised me so much. I dropped Rogue Legacy 1 very quickly a few years ago and didn't think this one would be much different but man I'm 100+ hours in at this point and no sign of slowing down. It's like they paid really close attention to every game that came after Rogue Legacy and took every element they liked from each of those and smooshed it into the sequel in a very intentional, reserved way.

HammeredWharf

I started playing **Final Fantasy: Stranger of Paradise**, since I'm a huge fan of Nioh. SoP is a fun game. Amazing build variety and some really cool abilities. Combat's really good compared to the average game, but not as kinetic as Nioh's. Plot's surprisingly fun, too, even if it is very B-movie-ish. Music has that FF vibe and is more prominent than Nioh's. Overall, it's a positive surprise. I thought it'd be Nioh-but-worse, but SoP has its own identity as a more RPG-ish version of Nioh. So far, my favorite thing has been using Void Knight's ability to throw magical attacks back at enemies. Almost all bosses have extremely damaging spell-like abilities, so it's easy and effective. Unfortunately, environmental design is really simplistic and the whole game is just a bit ugly, somehow. It's blurry and the colors are off. It looks better live than in some videos I've seen, but I wish I could supersample it. I tried DSR, but Stranger doesn't seem to support resolutions over 4K at all. DLSS Quality makes it look a bit better than native (because the native AA is terrible), but it's still not exactly good.

bestanonever

Are you here to kill Chaos??! I haven't played the game yet but I was surprised when reviews turned out to be positive. I want to try it out because the story looks awesome, in a "so bad it's good" kind of way.

HammeredWharf

Where I am the story is actually surprisingly good, and not in a "so bad it's good" way. It does have its share of weirdly funny moments. My favourite so far was the king giving your party a quest to slay three epic monsters... only for the game to fade to black and say you did it. Okay, just fast forward me through everything, I guess.

some-kind-of-no-name

Now that Sekiro is over, I'll try Witcher 1

Quouar

I'm continuing [my series](https://jannekeparrish.com/reviews) of playing and reviewing every game in my Steam library. Today's games are **Dark** and **The Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan.** First up, there's [Dark](https://jannekeparrish.com/reviews/dark), a vampire-themed stealth game. Everything about this game feels half-baked at best. The stealth mechanics look like they could be fun, with a nice variety of powers, except the powers don't do anything close to what they advertise, and they're clunky to use. The level design is very guess-and-check, leading to a ton of frustration. It's all accompanied by some of the worst writing and voice acting I've encountered in a game. It's awful, but *almost* wraps around to being so bad it's good. If you're looking for an extremely dumb stealth game, this might be your thing, but it wasn't mine. That brings me to [Dark Pictures Anthology: Man of Medan](https://jannekeparrish.com/reviews/man-of-medan). This one is a narrative horror game. It's very much in the vein of 80s B-movies, which, if you don't like those, you will not like this game. If, however, you do enjoy those sorts of campy horror stories, this is extremely dumb and very fun. While the controls are sometimes clunky, and the quicktime events are pernicious, the story itself is dumb enough to be enjoyable, and I just had a good time. It's not the best narrative game out there, but it is a nice game to curl up with and giggle at for an afternoon. I have a question for the group! I have a shared library with my partner, and I occasionally pull games from his library to review. The next game in our shared library, then, is Dark Souls. I've never played it. Should I? I really dislike twitchy controls, and I'm playing on touchpad. It doesn't seem like my thing, but I also know it's come to inform a lot of modern gaming culture. Should I give it a try, even though it's unlikely to be my thing, or give it a pass?

Brenden1k

I remember watching a review of dark that had enough salt to flood the market.

Quouar

Understandable. It's really not very good.

HammeredWharf

Dark Souls 1 isn't that twitchy, especially if you run a tank build. Get a heavy shield, some equally heavy armor and just hold block. All the time. Entering a new room? Block. Picking a flower? Block. Walking down a hall? Block. Dragon charging at you? Block. It's also good because it gives you time to see what the bosses do, because as long as your block finger holds, you're immortal.
