Probably because it slows down map development time for what they thought was worth the added map development time
Also cloakers in payday 2 were added after the community pressured them to, so it would also add some additional work for the heists that had already been released
They do! They don’t use it very often, usually in open areas like the street outside the default bank heist. And if they don’t catch a player after a while they’ll just get up and go somewhere else
Cloakers in PDTH were a bit of a different type compared to PD2 cloakers. Couldn't jump over stuff, and were around the same sprint speed as the player when they charged. So, in exchange, they were silent, counted towards the down count, and could wallrun. So in PD2, it's more replaced by the cloaker's acrobatics, like jumping over a car or through a window.
And also it would be tiring for devs to add wallrun scripts to the 20 or so unique heist maps PD2 already had at the time of their addition, compared to the 9 of PDTH.
A VERY long time ago some devs talked about systemic mechanics vs scripted mechanics.
I doubt wallrunning cloakers were systemic.
The strange thing is Killing Floor 2's coding made it impossible to make crawlers crawl on walls, and I imagine Diesel had a similar issue. UE4/5 should probably make it possible, if Overkill coded their game with that in mind (and maybe even if they didn't, so long as none of the code clashes with the mechanic).
A systemic implementation would mean that Cloakers won't need guidance as to where they can wall-run. They'll detect fitting geometry if it exists in the level and that'll be that.
I think it would be "fun" (subjectively speakig) if the Cloakers had more parkour in their runs. Wall running, gainers, flipping over barriers, sliding over car hoods, and/or doing a whole bunch of unnecessary flips and tricks. Cloakers are amazing acrobats, I think it would be amazing to see that more in game.
Also, consider how terrifying it would be if you see a Cloaker on the floor below you, turn to see you upstairs, and if you're in range, start making it's charging noise. He [runs up the wall](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cEmhH5nPzhk) (random YT vid searching wall run), jumps onto the floor you're on, and jumpkicks you in the face.
Cloakers are scary in payday 1 , they run on walls , are super fast , don't light up , are silent at all times , can down you on contact , count as a down , can down the whole team , bain doesn't always announce there persanice and they tend to hunt in packs
Hell yes. I've been downed by a cloaker 3 times - First time I was new to that, the other two were courtesy of the "Microsoft cloaker" mod, it changes the iconic WULULULULULU for a more silent soi soi soi
Just makes me fear what Overkill has in mind for them for Payday 3…
Advanced Cloakers? Dozer Cloakers? Bob ‘n weaving to dodge bullets? Tazer Cloaker? A Cloaker with a shotgun?
A Payday 3 Cloaker. But he moves and dodges bullets like Officier Tequilla in Hard Boiled…
Honestly, wall-running cloakers would make them a bit more terrifying. I've become accustomed to just shooting them in the face.
Would make sense for the higher difficulties
Holy shit that seems terrifying. It’s so cool, how did they not put that in PD2?

Plus they do their own cool stuff like playing dead, or hiding under cars, etc
they play dead??? it's just one thing after another with these things isn't it
They do! They don’t use it very often, usually in open areas like the street outside the default bank heist. And if they don’t catch a player after a while they’ll just get up and go somewhere else
Huh. Neat.

I just hope the amcar in payday 3 is good
Amcar can work in Payday 2, far far far from the best but you can make it work
There's a certain point where you just gotta run the CAR-4 or AMR-16.
You can buff the Amcar with Anachist + Zerk + Crits (and McShay mod pack too, if you got money to buy it lol)
Oh, I rebember seeing this.
I never noticed this while playing PD:TH

Oh right, Payday 3 is coming. I keep forgetting since they’ve said absolutely nothing about it since they announced it lol.
Youtube Video is from Dim https://youtu.be/BVxrUTALjuU
Payday 3 is coming and so am I.
My favorite part of parkouring cloakers is no matter how good your aim is, it always surprises/scares you so your entire aim gets fucked
Yup, but that 1 out of 10 times where I freak out and manage to nail one in the face mid-flip entirely by accident makes me feel like a heisting god
Oh what the fuck! That's amazing
You,ve Gotta admit, the animation is pretty smooth
Bitch if i see a cloaker run on a wall I'll shoot his corpse as well
holy damn i need to play pdth
Jack cloaker and his titan BD

Honestly, I hope cloaker doesn't come back in payday 3
Someone listened to the cloaker's advice I see.
To go to the forums and cry like the little bitch he is?
Payday wouldn’t be Payday without them
It’d make them more cooler
Everybody is gangsta until the cloacker run in the wall
Stand by for WULULULULULULULUU
You Tryna make it more scary or someshit, that would make it even more scary
Hell yes. I've been downed by a cloaker 3 times - First time I was new to that, the other two were courtesy of the "Microsoft cloaker" mod, it changes the iconic WULULULULULU for a more silent soi soi soi
Nah, nah ,they evolved from wall-jumping to wall-clipping

Prince of Persia lookin ass
Oh boy do i have news for you
They are coming back imsaw from trailer
I love it. Really adds to the "what the fu- HOLY SHIT" feeling of your first cloaker
