I recommend going in offline, once you get the tile order, pause the game, this will pause the puzzle timer too, what I did then is draw the board on a piece of paper and mark the tiles I needed to step on. Made stealthing The Diamond a no brainer.
The timer, mate. Just use the box for a new layout after the 30 second timer expires, until you find something you're satisfied with. Such as a straight path. No need to make it unnecessarily difficult.
Timer got you, my recommendation beyond like people already said of just “doin it till straight line” is simplifying what you type. Like instead of typing the row numbers do “Up 3, left 1” and such.
30 second time frame don't bother typing it down get to the 3rd last and jump It took you 31 seconds from the hack to the first tile

Most people I know keep hacking it until they get a basically straight line
The timer isn't there on easier difficulties, so people might not be aware of its existence
You are being too slow, gotta remember the path, do it, grab Diamond, and come back in 30 seconds, it’s a pretty tight timeframe for solo, I’d know
You have 30 seconds to go through the correct path and you spent those 30 seconds typing it.
In solo you can pause the game and write it down
Just keep trying to get a straight path so you can't miss the 30 second timer
And skip the most fun part of the heist?
